I think it is highly likely that Fields/Lance possibly both fall to 12 or later.

Seems like top 3 QBs will be Lawerence/Wilson/Mac

4- can’t completely rule out ATL but unless there is a trade up I don’t see a QB going here.

9- Denver would be the next team I see possibly taking a QB but heard they are interested in Teddy Bridgewater so if that trade happens they could be out of the QB market.

Nope, the farther you get down in the draft the less the percentages are of finding an impact player. If what you said was true everyone would scramble to trade their round 1 picks for 15 round 6's. Must be balanced

Not your example at all. We’d still have a round one pick. Just move back a bit. Then add two additional picks. If you guys have to be greedy for a second round pick...but I felt we could comfortably get a third and fourth by moving back a bit. The eleven picks we have is all fine. My idea was clearly focused in on hitting on the quality of the draft. I figured we would be in our top hundred players on our Big Board still in the fourth round there.

Yes, this is an aspect I think people miss.   So caught up in CB and WR...and the " rankings "     forgetting its the Eagles who can easily take a linemen that was ranked in the 20s overall.    But it's why I like dropping just a little to either 15 or 19.  At those points I'm 99% sure it would be the guy they were going to take at 12 anyway. And I like the possibility of the 2nd round pick, 46 or 51... not so much a combo of 80s plus a 120s  type picks.

If I get a DL first, then follow up with CB and OL, LB... I can use the late picks for offensive pieces like RB and a solid blocking type TE.  Package something to move up if needed with those late picks.

But I would prefer multiple 2nd rounders this year.  Next year we are already in great shape in the draft.

The third and fourth are still valuable. Kind of figure that third day ammo is good to possibly even leverage our way up some on day two.

Since when have we made the right draft choices? At least in the top 10 you really can't screw up getting a good player right?(I mean besides this team lmao)

Maybe 1 of the 5 fall to 12, maybe not. Carolina needs allot of help. I would think drafting a top talent at 8 would be better than the 5th QB. If 4 QB's are gone before they pick, then only 3 of Pitts, Chase, Sewell, Parsons, Paye, Surtain and Waddle are off the board. Allot of great options at 8 if you ask me. But we are not the GM of Carolina either...

Just wondering how Mac rocketed into the top 3(potentially) he is still the same QB he was when he was ranked at the end of round 1 lol. Must be a miracle!!

Obviously I don’t have any power to negotiate any trades. It’s called hypothetical

Can we keep this within the realm of possibility?

Right, keep moving back,in fact just move out of round 1 altogether and load up on less than the top talent available. You are shooting(once again) for the bronze medal. If we plan on a QB next year(no matter how we acquire them) we'd better have some weapons for him,or there is no point in getting him. We have Reagor(SO he has shown little) and a few solid BU WR's. Is that enough to entice any decent FA QB into coming here? Doubtful, so then you are now forced to draft one. Need to make this team a place where a QB would want to play. We could get a shut down defense and win games, but that does little to make a QB feel worthy if he can't move the team due to lack of weapons

In other news big game tonight 6ers vs the Nets should be a good game fun to watch. Will give one of these teams the tie breaker over the other which could be pretty big.

Same way all players sky rocket up boards not like any of them do anything different there’s games are the same. Mac was growing in nfl circles since the senior bowl game when Carolina was extremely high on him.

Think it all comes down to preference personally speaking I thought a guy like Fields or Lance would be better fits and more dangerous in an O like SF.

But Mac has shown excellent ball placement skills has an above avg. arm and think he showed he bit better of an athlete then many thought still nowhere near the realms of the other 4 guys but hey to each there own.

OK, After hearing all of these projections/predictions, here is mine. We trade back to 15 and draft Waddle unless Slater or Paye is there. If either of those two are there that will be the pick.

If we miss out or Surtain and Horn then I do hope we trade back to the later teens and take Bateman then use our 2nd on a CB like Newsome (or Samuel Jr. but prefer Newsome) and one of our 3rds or our 4th on Joseph (or Stokes but prefer Joseph).

Wanted to hire Clowney - just to mug him in S Philly

KD out tonight for the nets good for the 6ers

Oh wow most the nets out not a real good test of what the nets are harden also out along with Blake and Aldridge

The test will come eventually.  Right now most important to put us in the best position to get that #1 seed (knock on wood).

Joe, the study was done on all ages, thus the space for recovery and playing time after such. Older players would most likely last the shorter time period and younger ones the other end. You need to read up on this Joe. Fact remains that this is an issue. So do you draft a player in the first round knowing chances are he will not last 5 years? To the point that we go O-Line or D-Line. I am not sure there are many players that fit this low in round 1. What if all are taken? Do we reach if we cannot trade back? That is Howie's history, so I don't push that aside as an option. But I am looking at this pick from what most draft experts feel, not what Howie will do. Because we really do not know anymore. We drafted Reagor last year! Yes there were rumors that was the pick, but ahead of Jefferson? I am now hearing we have analytics involved in the draft process.... If this is the case we are doomed to fail. That dude looking at stats has no clue. Anyone on this EMB has a better chance of making a solid pick!

Yes, I think it might be considered a little bit of a reach when we take the lineman at 12, in the event we don't trade back. It's why I'm not worried about the injury to Farley, Lito was the last CB taken round 1, later round 1.  They take linemen this high, it's the history that matters...not what each draft expert gets wrong each year.

Sure, All Mock drafts you do will look better if you get to pick more players you like. But we all know the chances of these players actually contributing to the team dwindles as the players picked increase. So, how many players drafted in the first 3 rounds make the team vs the last 4? The chances a player does better at 12 should be correct. We all know it is not an exact science. That is why you should prefer to grab the better prospect, because that player should have a better chance to succeed. So, unless no one you feel can contribute when you are up, you take that player that is on top of your board. The you move on....

Right, I'm not looking to get extra picks on day 3.   I want a 2nd rounder for moving back a few places.   Buy again, I simply believe there is more of a chance than not, that we would take the same guy at 15 or 19 that we would at 12.  If not,  then it's still one of the few DL they want anyway.   I just don't think it's corner or WR.

If Jones is there at 12,he will be there at 15,why would they give up anything?

Because another team could trade in front.  That's the idea of hoping there is a QB that a couple teams want.  If Washington offers picks 19 and 51... what would New England have to offer?    Idk, let's just hope it happens.

10 hours ago, stine said:

Well, this depends if there are more than one team looking for him. NE, Washington and maybe someone else.... Then there is a bidding war which lands you a 2nd round pick

Yes...then you take the DL at 15 you were going to take at 12.

Sure ....or just get the 2nd round like I said, then no need.   A trade I can see ... we get a 2nd next year, plus maybe a 3rd this year, but we have to throw in a 4th or 5th.

This was an interesting interview with the former GM of the Falcons who talked a lot about the increased use of analytics in the draft.

Thomas Dimitroff on making big draft trades, draft strategy, what the 49ers will do at 3, and more - YouTube

He also talked about how involved the owner was in the draft process and the risks involved in the decision to trade for Julio Jones.

I think it gives some perspective to the Eagles situation.
