Adam Caplan made an interesting point this morning in that he is hearing that the Eagles and Siriani want an offense that stresses getting the ball out early to receivers who would then generate a lot of YAC.

This is tough for me to see mainly because neither of our QBs fit this style of offense... Ideally you would want a QB that makes quick reads is accurate and has great ball placement none of which are strengths of Hurts or Flacco.
This could indicate why we could have been in the mix for 3rd overall and interested in Mac Jones though those are all supposed strengths of his.

I do not consider Paye reaching at 12. Heck, he could be gone before the Eagles pick....... If he is there along with Horn, I could easily see the Eagles picking him instead...

I was going by DraftTek’s ratings ... they have him 18 or 19.  But I do see some other sites have him a tad higher (CBS has him 12).  So you are right, it would be an egregious overdrafting event (like Marcus Smith was).

Why not?  Nothing to lose.  And it is fun.  Well until Howie picks all these players you either never heard of or ever imagined he’d take.

Whoooop whooop 1st in the East!!!!

Brooklyn is nuts for not playing their starters more.  Their projected starting 5 have only played 7 games together so far.  They think chemistry just comes naturally, that they can just flip a switch and gel?

Aldridge just retired didn’t play much for the Nets

T2R, The link I posted is not the same as yours. I am still waiting for the rules for your contest. You mentioned they may have 15 players instead of 10?

One thing we should consider is that what some of these so called experts think is most likely entirely different than most NFL Clubs. What they show as a 2nd round pick could very well be a mid first rounder on many NFL boards. These NFL clubs have hundreds of scouts looking under every rock for players.... Of course then we have Howie Roseman's Special Board. This is different than all other boards, because he is smarter than everyone else... LMAO!

Did you just call it The Short Bus of Big Boards ? LOL

1-12 Horn 2-37 Elijah Moore-WR- Ole Miss 3-70- Jay Tufele-DL-USC  3-84-Payton Turner-Edge-Houston  4-123- Kendrick Green-IOL-Illinois  5-143-Joshuah Bledsoe(new find)- S- Missouri   6-188- Kenny Yeboah-TE-Miss  6-223- Jaret Patterson-RB-Buffalo 6-224-Paddy Fisher-MLB-Northwestern   7-233-Felipe Franks-QB-Arkansas  7-238-Josh Ball-OT- Marshall

The Annual MulchTen plus one?

This is being run by Tom Jackson, the writer for the Eagle Eye. People from the old EMB from 13+ years enter in it. As I said, I got lucky and won it in 2017, so I have to enter or they will have a mutiny.... There is another being run on this site I believe... Time 2 Rock let me know about it....

The contest I was referring to is one that is run by a member of the board here (it is just for board members).

Wasn’t that Bri’s old contest TheMulch Ten plus one?

51% .. Paye will be the pick at 12.    49% is if he gets taken before 12 or we are able to trade down.

I'll will be surprised if we pick another player at 12 if he is on the board,  unless it's another DL.

This is a good point and an example of the team not necessarily making the best draft decisions. We picked Hurts without any real thought into how we were going to use Hurts. Just like we drafted Reagor without a plan on how to use him (and JJAW, and Davion Taylor, etc.) This is why this is a pivotal draft. We shouldn't just be picking football players, we should be picking players whose traits match what we want to do. Hurts could be really effective running an offense like the Eagles allegedly want to run, but he has to address perhaps his biggest flaw. (Ironically, Wentz will also have to improve his accuracy to play in Indy's offense.) So we have to be prepared to cut ties with him if he struggles. It also means we should be looking for a prospect that matches what we want to do (Davis Mills) or looking for a qb next year.

On the plus side, I like Reagor and Watkins as fits for this offense.

I think Reich knows how to play Wentz and the O will be catered to him it won’t be the same O we seen under Rivers... It’s what I want to see from Siri here cater the O to fit our QBs strengths

We are still being heavily linked to Watson could just be the media trying to get attention but seems to be a new reports daily of our interest in Watson

I have my Mach 10 already picked out. I will probably change a few for the one T2R told me about earlier to give me a better shot of hitting on one of them lol

I seem to recall it was like 8-10 picks for day 1 (since only round 1) then increases to like 15 for day 2 (since 2 rounds).

Yes, Reich was the OC here, I don't think their offense is all this different where all of a sudden it's a bunch of short throws. That fit Rivers weak arm and no mobility.  Indy will be more than fine.

As for this genius idea of short passing game...talking about it, calling the plays, and then EXECUTING are way different.     The defense presses our WRs and the space that is needed to throw the short pass isn't there.    Idk how anyone can say that any of our WRs have proven to fit any of this yet.   Idk ...it's just magic all of a sudden?

A lot of improvement is needed, they are young and the new coaching staff seems better suited to coach WRs ( with the exception of Groh I'm 2017, we struggled at that position)

Idk... but to me this puts the pressure on the WRs to get open.  Especially as teams see this is what we are looking to do.

Pressure on the WRs and QB... Short patterns should help the guys get open quicker in theory I think can look like NE with Brady. But accuracy and ball placement are HUGE. You throw the ball slightly behind the WR or make him have to slow down or stop to catch a ball that could be the difference between 1-3 yard catch vs a 15 yard gain if he caught it in stride.

Not impossible but all parties have to vastly improve if this is what we want to do

Magic, or I follow guys on the internet who break down tape and show our receivers running routes that are likely to be featured in our new offense.

The QB also has to read it quick as well the windows will be brief and short. Hurts has to make the read quickly and be decisive in his decisions.

Check out Franks, At FL,he lost his job to Trask after he got hurt so he transferred to Arkansas. I think he would be a nice underrated project
