Move up from 12?  It is as close to a 100% certainty he’ll be there at 12 as you can get.  Heck I’d think we could trade back a few spots and still get him.

I am pretty sure he meant trade up from the second round to the back end of the first.

I would do this any day of the week but I’m extremely high on Bateman

Too many good players sitting therein the meat of the draft to trade up from 37. I’d argue it is the sweet spot of this class.

I wondered about that after posting.  I am guessing he’ll go early 20s ... not sure I want to give up what will me needed to move up that far (and doubtful this regime would consider that for a WR).  If he fell to late 20s and we could give up minimal draft capital (like our 4th) or use Ertz as a trade chip to move up, then I’d be behind that move.

This is the same every year lmao literally every draft I feel like I hear you say this. If I can get a stud like Bateman by moving up I’d go for it.

No up from 37

I think Bateman will slide late first early 2nd... New rumors saying the Florida WR Toney could be top 15 that he might even go higher then Bama Smith. That’s possibly 4 WRs before Bateman.

Said before that I think Bateman could be the overlooked guy in this class and think he would be an absolute steal at 37

I really hope Howie takes Horn at 12 (if he is there). If not I see us trying to trade back into late 1 and taking Barmore. Picking up a nice 2 would alot(and my mock also cause I could get Elijah Moore there lol)

Marshall is more overlooked and I prefer him over Bateman(Toney also). On my mock, not taking a WR until round 5. I will ice the cake next year with a new QB and a top WR. No need to waste a year for a top #1 draft picked WR right now in my view

Ok I disagree but to each they own

I hear about a package deal with Ertz included trading with Buffalo. Just rumor

I like this one, think I will stay with it  1-12-Horn-CB   2-37-Onwuzurike-DL-Washington   3-70 Baron Browning-LB-OSU 3-84-Payton Turner-Edge- Houston  4-123-Kahlil Herbert-RB-VT  5-143-Cornell Powell-WR-Clemson  6-188- Trey Hill-OC- Georgia  6-233-Matt Bushman-TE-BYU   6-224-Darrick Forrest-S-Cincy  7-233- Cole van Lanen-OT- Wisconsin  7-238-Mustafa Johnson-DL-Colorado (I wanted Elijah Moore-WR at 37,but figured Howie would go D line here)                 This mock is about as boring as it gets, but really, these are the first set of guys we need in here. Since we are loaded up next year a QB and plucking a round 1 WR should be no issue. We will have either 3 1's and a 2 or 2 '1's and 2'2's,so for me this draft was more about solidifying other positions, getting them a year playing together before we invest in a top QB and a top WR. For me,this mock is about getting all the cake ingredients, and slow baking it all season. next year you can add the icing. Powell is a good and willing blocker and he is no slouch as an offensive weapon either/ For me a round 1 WR could basically be a year lost(see Reagor).; I would rather have my team in a position to make next years WR pick successful on day 1

At 37 I’m running to the podium to hand in the card.

This is hilarious to me. Let's compare Tom Brady playing for the Pats in 2014...  to Carson Wentz playing for the Eagles in 2020... lol

I think so many people are in denial about this pathetic team and the future of it, with the inner dealings of the organization and how any QB would lose total faith.    Brady was playing for a winner... the Eagles are far from that the last couple of years.

This idea that a player wants to subject himself to this, compared to going to play for a chance to win something is very naive IMO.    I think more clarity comes in a couple of years.

Pretty much it seems every year...you call this the " sweet spot "

I'm still thinking DL then CB with the first two picks.

If he was having serious doubts about this organization and losing faith he never have should agreed to sign that extension.

I have those reversed

Why wouldn’t he sign it??? Not like he was going to get to leave if he didn’t. He would have been forced to play on his 5th year option. And if he played well and still didn’t want to sign he would have had to play on a franchise tag.

To each his own. I saw nothing that really stood out to me to warrant me moving up for him and at 37 I would rather take Toney if we went WR there(but I dont see that either). CB and DL make sense to me this year

Rumors, innuendo, deception, smoke, mirrors we have it all at the fun house 🤣. I fear the only dead horse could be us after they start folding up the tents(OK 2 kickers, those were good picks!!!)

Great tune also!

Point was, I don’t think his wanting to leave was because he was losing faith in the organization.  I think it was the other way around and all started when they drafted Hurts ... I think he felt they lost faith in him.  And technically he could have made an attempt to force his release by not signing the franchise tag.

Why?   The extension was signed prior to the 2 years of pathetic teammates and the owner trying to pick the offensive coaches.  The last 2 seasons were a complete soap opera.   Forget just Wentz, Doug, Duce,  Schwartz, Jenkins, Ertz...  gotta pay attention to what's going on.   They bribed Graham and Kelce with more money... watch what happens in the coming seasons.

So here's my point. I like Bateman as a receiver, just saying I see no reason to spend draft capital to get him(if we had a better team here then NP go for it). First off who would mentor him? Fulgham? Ward? A brand new(rather inexperienced) staff? IMO you are wasting a year of his time and why I see zero rush to get a WR, let them fall to us, take 2 if you want. Bateman (and the top 3 as well) would be better served if he/they went to a club that knew that they were doing, like GB or NO. They have those guys already in place and the developmental staff. Not saying to avoid getting a WR, we need 1 or 2. Let them compete, see who emerges from the fray(if any) and see if this staff can develop them throughout the season. If I see that progress, then by all means I will get you a "star" in the 2022 draft. if we wanted a WR, Toney makes more sense because we have staff that have worked with him, maybe he becomes a star, maybe not, but there is familiarity at least and that's about all we have at this point. This staff needs to prove to me they know what they are doing, with the skill positions before I invest heavily in them. The exception to this, for me, would be if we took a WR high, then waited until post draft and picked up a vet that was cut to aid in mentoring my new "star". IDK who could be cut, nor what they would pay for him. I will take a nice middle of the road pick, maybe look for some DITRS or a last round guy, but until I know what I have at QB, on the O line, some solidity in the running game, and that I have a competent staff, I can't fathom giving up anything draft wise to move for a WR. If we take a WR high, then I would look for a FA addition after the draft(or maybe an Ertz trade). Sadly, if Bateman fell to 37, I would still take Onwu. We need so many holes filled it's insane

I think the point is where we were by the end of 2020... where it was obvious he wanted out.  Same with a bunch of others.

You run an organization,  nobody should want to leave.   That's the big picture...   it's why Brady in 2014 is not a good comparison.  Brady last year as New England had pathetic offensive help in 2019...is a better comparison.

It's not about a backup...if you are set up to win, the backup is irrelevant.  This is the point that annoys me that everyone misses.    Acting like it's a privilege to be a part of this current Eagles organization...as compared to around the league at this current time.

I do organization likely have promises they didn’t keep... Oh Wentz we are going to surround you with talent it won’t be 2019 again.

Then you resign injury prone Djax, Alshon already wanted out, piss off Ertz... Pass on the more NFL ready WR Jefferson oh and then draft a backup in round 2.

https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/2021-nfl-draft-scouting-report--wr-austin-watkins    I believe this is Sammy Watkins younger brother? At any rate he has promise. other late/UDFA WR's to look at are Coxie and Rico Bussey who was a semi-star for North Texas. He transferred to Hawaii and had lackluster season with a crap team which killed off his draft stock
