Mmmmmmm that was all last year things though we haven’t been able to bring along WRs for years

Last was "head case" Agholor, who ascended all the way up to "average" , and why we have to hit the wire continuously for "cheap" guys because we can't draft worth crap or develop anyone

I think just as much as it was on player development it was partly offensive scheme related and partly Wentz’s inaccuracy and partly the pass blocking of the OL (since they were changing lineup practically every week).  I don’t know if the injury thing will improve but hopefully we see improvement in the other 3 areas to allow better WR play.

IDK name me ONE "star"(elite, near elite) wideout the last 10 years that came from "in house"(I'll wait) You could argue Djax here and I could give you that I suppose(but we let him go lol), but the fact remains it's a  pretty dismal record we have. So which top WR's career do we want to ruin next, Waddle or Smith?

It does frustrate the hell out of you when you see other teams that seem to always hit on WRs like Pittsburgh, NY Giants, Seattle ... and we can’t draft ONE to save our lives.

If I’m Detroit I’m looking at the Eagles-Miami trade as a book mark for this trade... Cost Miami a future 1st to get up 6 spots...  I’m thinking it costing a future first or 2nd this year.

Maybe 12 a 3rd and Ertz could swing it but seems doubtful to me with Detroit already having a younger cheaper Hockenson.

I don't think it's going to cost a first ...  but it's because we differ from the start as I absolutely 100% see the Miami - Eagles - SF as a 3 team deal.

But I also think rhe Eagles are going DL and would prefer to move back...not up.

Why the move was easy last year...  Diggs to play with Wentz.    Already developed and reliable. Young too.

This mock draft seems somewhat on target to me.

2021 NFL mock draft: Patriots strike deal with Giants and move up for Trey Lance, Bucs stop top talent's fall - CBSSports.com

I think Jones is the pick at three. The 49ers made a move up for a reason, namely that they had one prospect in mind, and at that point they had decided to attend Jones' pro day instead of Fields. So I think he will be the pick.

It seems likely Pitts, Sewell and Chase will go 4,5 and 6, and then the projection of Waddle, Slater and Surtain seems fine, with Fields going at 9.

The one disagreement I would have is the Pats trading up with the Giants, who never trade back. I think the Giants take Smith and we take Horn, which seems like a good outcome for us.

An interesting point is that there aren't any other wrs taken the rest of the first round, which seems to jibe with the thinking of many draft analysts that wrs will fall after the top 3 are off the board. We could be in a position where the second round starts and Toney, Bateman, Marshall and both Moores are available, any of whom make sense for us.

In thinking about what I feel is most likely what Howie will do, I also lean toward DL with 12 or a trade back a few spots.

Horn at 12 and any of those WRs at 37 would be a great start to this draft.

IDK I have Horn, then Onwuz at 37 cause Howie loves his linemen(and he's a good DT) Frankly After the top 3 WR's are gone, there isn't alot of difference. They all have pros and cons. I'm waiting until 5 and taking Powell, good blocking WR(which we need) and he can also be an offensive weapon

Lol got reports out of saying we are looking to trade back into the top 10.  One report that I read is that it would be for Waddle most likely. Can’t say I’d be a fan of that move but just something else to think about

If we trade back into the top 10, it will not be for Waddle. It would be to draft someone that they know will be drafted by Dallas or Giants. I am thinking Surtain...... I highly doubt they draft WR in round 1 now, unless we trade further down....

This is hilarious to me. Let's compare Tom Brady playing for the Pats in 2014...  to Carson Wentz playing for the Eagles in 2020... lol

I think so many people are in denial about this pathetic team and the future of it, with the inner dealings of the organization and how any QB would lose total faith.    Brady was playing for a winner... the Eagles are far from that the last couple of years.

This idea that a player wants to subject himself to this, compared to going to play for a chance to win something is very naive IMO.    I think more clarity comes in a couple of years.

You are missing the obvious point to this article. They are not comparing teams or how many wins they had. He is comparing the person and how they reacted to the same situation. Brady played lights out, thus not allowing the drafted QB to see the field. That was how he handled the situation. Wentz asked for a trade because he was insecure and worried. LMAO, Wentz acted like a child.  That was the point of the article. The dude is getting paid 30 mil a year. Start acting like a stud and not a baby!

Did Brady have the dumpster fire around him like Wentz did?    Gronk and Edlemen were slightly better than our guys?  Stability of the lineup?  Same OC for like forever?

You don't think it's slightly different.

How did Aaron Rodgers react when GB drafted a QB round 1? He preceded to have an MVP season. That is how a pro reacts when he is upset. He goes out and plays like a MVP, not compile the worse stats of his career.... We can make all of the excuses we want. Coach gave him no support. O-Line was decimated, yet had the 3rd best running game in the NFL last year. Wentz played like crap. Period

Darnold completed more passes than Wentz last year and he had a worse supporting cast. He is also supposed to be much poorer QB..

How many games did Darnold play.    Did Wentz have the all pro LT , WR and Aaron Jones?    I dont think the Jets were any worse than our dumpster fire ... but that's great.. let's complain about the actual level of play from Darnold to Wentz... I mean the goal is to put your QB in the absolute worst position possible and see what happens.

On a side note...  in your opinion who was a better QB...  Terry Bradshaw or Archie Manning?    Would your answer switch if they switched teams?

I was just stating the obvious. Wentz played like crap. He held onto the ball longer than any other QB, instead of tossing it away if no one was open. He forced the ball to Ertz even when other WR's were wide open. He made his team look worse than it was because he played so awful. It was like he forgot what he learned the past 3 years. You can make all of the excuses you like. Fact remains he played like crap. Would he have done better had the O-Line stayed in tact? Maybe, But I doubt you would have seen anything like previous years. Don't get me wrong. Wentz has all of the ability in the world. He already showed that. Problem is he acted like a child when the FO drafted a QB in the 2nd round. Wentz had a history of injuries and Eagles wanted  someone in case he got injured again. I did not like it at all. I wanted them to draft a player that would play every day, not an insurance policy. But I understand why they did it.

BTW, I think Manning was the better QB. I think the outcome would have been the same had the QB's switched teams.

I also think both QB's would have played better had a QB been drafted in the 2nd round of the previous draft... Not like crap

It's pretty bad when mommy calls in to tell the team how they should use her son(IDK that that has ever happened before?????) Maybe Mrs. Wentz should be hired as the QB coach

True. You can lead the league in INT's. You can lead the league in sacks taken. You can make excuses up for leading either category. Takes "special talent" to lead the league in both categories at once, especially even after you've been benched. the MVP went right to LVP. BTW our FO sucks, so noone really wants to play here now. They are sending out bad vibes. They want a winner, but won't point the finger at the real problem, which is themselves. They just keep replacing people they can blame their inefficiency and failures on. Lurie needs to hire a real GM with football knowledge/history. Until that happens, it will be continual re-runs of the above. Who knows, we may get LUCKY again and the stars and planets will align for another SB, but right now that's what it would take. At LEAST get me a guy who can lead the war room on draft day. Hell, any one of us could do that better. I will work for cheese steaks and beer. Tired of (what I deem) disappointing (aka wasted) picks, then not developing them afterwards. We develop players in 2 areas. We are very good(excellent if I may say) at developing TE's. I wold put that same staff on WR's because we SUCK with those. Our line coaches aren't bad, considering we give them mash tent players all the time. AT least we got some young guys some reps last year. Pity it wasn't because we CHOSE to

NFL Network ranked all 59 QB's that played last year. Wentz was ranked 35th. He turned the ball over 19 times. More than any other QB in the league and he only played 12 games. So, sometimes you can blame anyone else, but you really need to look in the mirror. Yes, the O-Line had issues. Yes the coaches could have done more to help him. But he did absolutely nothing to help himself or the team. He passed on wide open WR's because he did not have confidence in them. He held onto the ball too long and rarely tossed it away, which created unnecessary Sacks. He over threw on a regular basis. He stared down WR's, giving the Defense a jump on the ball. His footwork was terrible. Like he forgot everything he learned in the previous 3 years. He sucked. He sucked so bad that 34 QB's were ranked above him in a league of 32 teams.

Reports I have read was the jump was because Giants want Waddle... take what you want from it I think trading back into the top 10 is stupid regardless shouldn’t have traded out then

The difference is that they rec'd a 1st round pick to move back 6 spots and it should only cost them a 3rd to move up 3 spots. If it helps you grab the best CB in the draft I am all for it. If you are moving up to grab a WR, when there are so many that rank closely to him, I am dead against it.

Anyway, All we are hearing is rumors from many sources. They may be designed to possibly have another team over react and trade up 1-2 spots without reason. Just because they are worried another will take their player. See what happened to Chicago that one year.....Trubinsky ugh!

Denver looking to move up not back and reports says Detroit that 7 that’s 5 spots damn similar of our trade back from 6.

Takes two to tango in trades so if Philly wanted to trade up would have to be a partner that is looking to move back right now that is Detroit maybe Carolina but if I’m either of those teams I’m looking at what Miami gave up a 3rd isn’t getting it done minimum your looking at this years 2nd
