So IDK, apparently noone besides me, cares about finding Kelces replacement. It's this lack of planning ahead that keeps us from excelling. That's not a position to experiment with,so I am still for taking Meinerz. By all accounts he could use a years development(which is perfect), but the tools are there and if we're going to rebuild, I suggest we get the best C we can find in round 3/4. I know I stand alone(no surprise there lol)

No one??

I had Josh Myers with one of our 3s in my mock.  Completely agree we need to identify Kelce's replacement ASAP ... he seems to be year to year now.  Would love to bring someone in and have the luxury of learning from Kelce for a year or 2.

They may go IOL in the third (or even the first or second), but I don't see it as a priority. Kelce is here for this year, and if you draft a guy in the third, it is pretty likely he isn't good enough to jump ahead of Driscoll and Herbig on the depth chart this year anyway.

I wouldn't mind drafting oline, but last year the all rookie team corners came in the third and fourth round, so you have to recognize that, in drafting a center in the third, you are drafting a guy who has no shot of starting as a rookie if Kelce stays healthy, and a remote shot at even playing even if there is an injury.

Meanwhile you are taking away a swing at a position of need - LB, corner, wr.

I don't think anyone is thinking that we shouldn't worry about the oline depth. But I do think there should be a recognition that, right now, we are projected to start Michael Jacquet at corner, Marcus Epps at safety, and that Joe Ostman is a twisted ankle away from seeing 40 percent of the team's snaps. Meanwhile we know that Herbig can step in and give us decent reps at oline.

everything YOU SAY IS CORRECT.  But this is not a 1 year draft. No way we can compete this year. This is a 2-3 year rebuild, so you need to have replacements for Kelce, Johnson and Cox ready to go in 2024, possibly 2023.... So better to draft a solid player in 3 or 4 that can start in a year or two than draft one next year or worse yet, wait until we have no one.....

I tend to disagree. Those guys are not trrue centers. Sure they can be pressed into service if you wanted to push it, but I want a real center not a G that can play center,so I suppose thats where we differ

if we got Surtain or Horn,I suspect they start day 1???? Marshall would start day 1???? My LB pick Surratt could work into the starting lineup quickly,so what have I given up  really?(see last mock). AT OC we're talking about stability we need for 10 years, not an annual shuffle.so if we're serious about rebuilding get your guy and check off that box

Don't need him to move ahead of them this year,I need him to move ahead of them NEXT year

Lane bothers me also with his recent injury stuff lol. Hope that doesn't turn into another annual event

Thats why I like meinerz. He has the tools, but by all accounts really needs to learn a year and sitting behind a pro bowler isn't a bad place to start. I would just llike that box checked off, then next year we don't have to worry about it. We have 11 picks(most of any team) so for me I'll spend a 3rd to check that box off

Only read part of the convo, my laptop crapped out, bought a new gaming one ASUS w/ Ryzen 7, busy setting it up.

We can't rebuild the whole team in one yr, esp w/ HR making us cap strapped. Figured this yr was about testing Herbig, Seu, Juriga out at C. Spend our higher draft capitol elsewhere this yr.

I don't want to "try guys out" I want my starting OC next year and I will check that box off

GB, I want everything also. But hard reality is we are dealing with Howie. We can only hope he resolves a few positions. That would be a win in my book....

DAMN!!!! Devante Smith came in at just over 6ft and only 166 pounds

That man is not playing X at the nfl level

I've always envisioned him as a ZWR.

**cue the "if he can play he can play" responses

Me as well but some said oh he played X in college he can in the nfl that just isn’t happening... Now if we took him we have another guy that similar to Reagor though guess one could go into the slot.

He needs to wake up that he is NOT a "football" guy, or Lurie needs to. Howie is the reason we stink. he gets lucky at times like some will, but the "solid" drafts have been missing for awhile and we cannot afford to screw this one up

All I can hope for is Howie is asking Siri and Gannon what do you need and which players fit what you need? I just don't see that happening, but I can hope

Only way Howie will be out is if we keep being terrible.
Kinda sucks either way if he gets lucky and we have a good draft we will be stuck with Howie another 6 years it’s it’s terrible we are terrible.

damned if we do damned if we don’t lmao

I still think Howie has nude pics of Lurie at the FL massage parlor 🤣

Howie/Siri/Weidl speaking to the media maybe we get some kind of idea what our approach will be in the draft

"Howie, Ask Siri" - there are going to be so many jokes about that.

Howie, ask Siri how to draft. Howie, ask Siri............

Can see the meme now lol

Howie and Sirianni both asked directly if the Eagles' move from 6 to 12 means that Jalen Hurts is the starting QB. Neither committed to it.
