Howie Roseman on moving back from No. 6 to No. 12: "Flexibility creates opportunity." Says the #Eagles had to be comfortable with 12 players to move back.

I don’t have faith in our FO to have 12 players though lmao

Only way Howie will be out is if we keep being terrible.
Kinda sucks either way if he gets lucky and we have a good draft we will be stuck with Howie another 6 years it’s it’s terrible we are terrible.

damned if we do damned if we don’t lmao

It’d be a real shame if Howie botched these next 2 drafts when we have so many high picks.  That kind of opportunity doesn’t come often.

Overshadowed in that #Eagles presser: started off a question to Howie Roseman by saying it's well chronicled that Howie didn't stick to the draft board last year. Howie didn't deny or try to counter Tim's statement about not sticking to the board.

When is the Mach 10 starting on this web site? Also I will need the link again when he sets it up.

Thanks

No one??

I had Josh Myers with one of our 3s in my mock.  Completely agree we need to identify Kelce's replacement ASAP ... he seems to be year to year now.  Would love to bring someone in and have the luxury of learning from Kelce for a year or 2.

How are we so sure that Seumalo, Juriga, Herbig or (forget the other C we have rostered) aren’t going to be able to man that position? The small school kid Meinerez(however it’s spelled) would be a good addition too though. He is supposedly good at G and C.

They may go IOL in the third (or even the first or second), but I don't see it as a priority. Kelce is here for this year, and if you draft a guy in the third, it is pretty likely he isn't good enough to jump ahead of Driscoll and Herbig on the depth chart this year anyway.

I wouldn't mind drafting oline, but last year the all rookie team corners came in the third and fourth round, so you have to recognize that, in drafting a center in the third, you are drafting a guy who has no shot of starting as a rookie if Kelce stays healthy, and a remote shot at even playing even if there is an injury.

Meanwhile you are taking away a swing at a position of need - LB, corner, wr.

I don't think anyone is thinking that we shouldn't worry about the oline depth. But I do think there should be a recognition that, right now, we are projected to start Michael Jacquet at corner, Marcus Epps at safety, and that Joe Ostman is a twisted ankle away from seeing 40 percent of the team's snaps. Meanwhile we know that Herbig can step in and give us decent reps at oline.

Would be nice to get as many of these rooks actually out on the field. We need to develop a team going forward.

Glad that little weasel is getting called out for it.

Thats my point. We gonna take turns trying them all over a season? Who is the BU? Are they any good? Meinerz is new at center and he's killin' it. All I see is upside potential. If those other guys had that and were SOOOOO GOOD, we would cut Kelce lol. Sry,not buying that guy is on our roster. With 11 picks, alot of guys will be out of work real soon

Idk thought Jergia played fine in his few snaps he got last year vs the Browns... Tough to judge backup OL if they never play and when you have a guy like Kelce who never misses snaps you won’t see the backup C...So to that point I’d trust in Stout.

Herbig is the top backup in the interior. Dillard at LT, and Driscoll at RT (assuming Mailata wins the LT competition).

There's a lot more clarity along the oline than there is, say, at WR, corner, safety or LB.

Herberig isn’t a C though so he might be the first guy up at G off the bench but not if Kelce goes down.... Also the Eagles philosophy on the OL tends to be not moving guys around so it’s highly unlikely they would move Semulo over to C during a game.

So there is definitely some importance to the backup C but I again thought Jergia did alright and we did like him enough to carry him on roster and he was the guy that came in when Kelce missed a few snaps vs the Browns.

They will only have 8 olinemen active on game days, and the three backups will be Herbig, Driscoll and Dillard, barring injury or Dillard getting traded.

Glad you already know what the Eagles will do lmao come on now. Really no point in the Eagles dressing both Dillard(Mailata if Dillard wins)/Driscoll be one or the other presumably Driscoll since he is likely better suited to be a swing T.

Similar to Herbig being able to play both G spots. Honestly Jurgia offer more value then Herbig he can play all 3 interior spots you also make the case that Driscoll can play G.

But in terms of backups Dillard makes the absolute least sense he can’t play RT and can only cover one position on the OL I wouldn’t dress him on game days unless he was the starter

You think we only go with 3 back ups on Game day? Seems like we should have 4 no?

Siri - "Again, we've talked a little bit about my core values," he added. "(Competition) is my second core value -- it's this team's second core value. Competition is a huge thing, and we're going to have competition at every position."

Unless of course your QB's Carson Wentz - waaaaaaaaaaaah!

So, Meinerz represents competition(where as a bevy of round 6ers don't theoretically). Doesn't that alone make the team better? While we all know drafts are a crapshoot, don't we want the best guy at C we can locate? There is "clairty" on the Oline, because we have brought noone else in. There is "clarity" because we have noone else, and we found out that "clarity" didn't work out too well last year. Bring them in, let them battle for their spot,THEN we will have clarity and arguably a better O line

Prolly under orders of HR, draft reasons - keep 'em guessing, never tip your hand

I know all the guys "like" Hurts, but if he's not ready let Flacco start this off. Not like we're SB bound either way here, but having a more experienced QB could speed up the young guys process/development at WR. I don't want to draft WR's at all if we're going to punish them with lousy QB play, thats a wasted pick

https://www.nfl.com/players/nelson-agholor/stats/career  Head case is playing OK in LV. Note his first down stats increased really well(because we can't develop crap) This new staff better change that pronto

Cut Kelce? The guy is a lifer Eagles. You wouldn’t be cutting him but making him retire from the game. I believe with Kelce coming back this season that he actually committed to more than one season....this time. He’s in for the rebuild.

Yep, when you're Swiss cheese, why not create another hole?

Just can't see using a high pick on a C with 3 guys being tried at the position and we have so many holes elsewhere
