Bash my mock- 1-12 Smith-WR   2-37 Molden-CB   3-70 Browning-LB  3-84-Meinerz-OC  4-123 Herbert-RB  5-143- Janrius Robinson-edge  6-188 Darius sills-DT  6-223-Matt Bushman-TE 6-224- Darrick Forrest-S  7-233-Cole Van Lanen-OT 2-238 Feliepe Franks-QB

And before you bash the OC pick, his potential upside is Amazing and he could probably be a BU OG this year if we needed him,but he seems suited to be an OC for the next 10 years

Don't like it GB. I really would prefer another WR in round 1 should we go that way. Just my preference. I might wait for round 4 to get Center as he has a year or two to get into shape...

Dane Brugler on Twitter: "I think the #Cowboys pick at No. 10 comes down to Surtain or Horn. And I wouldn't be surprised if either is the pick. There will be voices in that war room pushing for both players." / Twitter

I would be so happy if they went with Horn, who actually is probably a better fit for them than Surtain, as he has great make up speed to go with Diggs, who has problems with deep passes. Surtain would be perfect for us in a cover 2 system.

I really don't see anyone else going corner. Carolina might, but oline makes a ton more sense for them.

OFF topic but the grandson committed to Tulane as a TE

Round 1 pick in the 2025 draft

Who are the "other" WR's at 12? Chase/Waddle may be gone. Why does 1 round make a difference if you find your starting OC for the next decade?

More options 1 round earlier. Why does 1st round or 2nd round matter? just 1 round....

Also, if Waddle is gone why get a WR at all at 12? I prefer other options at 12. As I said, my preference.

Best of Luck to him!!

https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2021-nfl-draft-florida-kyle-pitts-is-the-best-receiving-prospect-in-the-draft  Know we won't get him,but I will be a fan of his

Yeah I keep changing them around at 1,2. Surtain/Horn at 12 and Marshall at 37 would be fine by me

My "psycholgical analysis of Howie" tells me he will take Smith to help cover the fact he blew the Reagor(vs JJ) pick . Everything Howie does is to make Howie look good.To hell with the team

Well, Siri said something about weight does not matter if they play to their max potential when drafting a player. Seems to me he may have been hinting at Smith because of how small he is?

I will point out once again that Smith beat out all the QB's for the Heisman and that is not easy to do

IDK possibly we can add a little weight to him with the S&C staff. IDK when you are "slight" though, you learn real fast to avoid taking hits. He seems like a complete NFL ready WR in my view. I am not against drafting TWO WR's or TWO CB's either. If Reagor can step up his game then Hurts will have 2 nice weapons to use and I feel Molden is as good (or close) to the top guys as a CB for us. So,I will stay with Smith/Holden but would be fine with Horn/Marshall. I think no matter what the order is,those are the first 2 positions

Been looking more at Melifonwu in the 2nd, could fall to us. Still say if we follow a properly set board ( Hint HR ), whichever CB or WR is avail at 12, we take the other position in the 2nd.

That said we take a kicker

Only happened 1x in the 1st - Janikowski

That said.... with the history of this franchise and the ages of the best players.... Cox, Graham, Kelce, Brooks and Lane....   probably not kicker,  but great chance we see linemen taken early.

The team is not good, to focus on a specific position that the organization feels is lower on the totem poll , doesn't make sense.   If they think they are starting from square 1 ( as they should right now) they will address the line of scrimmage first.

I think they can address the D line a bit later. There are some nice guys around late with talent who don't need to start day 1. I like Janrius Robinson(edge FL st) and Sills at DT at 188. I know we talked to sills a few times already, not that that means anything. I really think Barmore is overrated(I like Onwuz better) and alot of these guys have injury issues,so IDK. We will know in 6 days. At least we have 11 picks, not the usual 5. We need everything,I just don't know what order they want them in. I think Howie wants Hurts to sucseed and he will get him some type of decent WR in 1 or 2. Could go- line,WR,CB, LB. We just need solid talent in here

Every year....   lol.    They "can" do a lot of things.    But we also know that they actually do things differently.

Do we follow what we would do?

Do we follow what "experts" are saying?

Do we follow what the Eagles normally do?

They invested 3 picks at WR last year,  got rid of their coaches.  Also have another 2nd rounder from the year before, plus 2 guys they like in Ward and Fulgham.

They haven't invested anything in DL in 4 years.   A position they clearly prioritize.   A year from now they will still have a bunch of young WRs on the roster.   But with Barnett and Sweat on their final years of their contracts and Graham and Cox ages 34 and 31... probably decent chance that they address the DL.

But maybe they go all in for 2021?   Where they look at it like, " We are this close, if we can just fill in a couple needs at WR and CB, we should do it and take the shot at the Superbowl"    idk...tough call.

I never said NOT to address the D line(or O line for that matter). I did so. If you don't think Smith is better then Agholor, I have swamp land to sell you. So it's not like we don't take a WR in round 1. Our "issues" have been developmental and as you said we have a new staff now. Maybe Smith with Reagor and  proper training usage of Jjaw gets it done. Fulgham is ok, maybe Ward, but if we want Hurts to perform(or at least see what we have) we need those triple(XYZ) receiving options. I'm trying to imagine this draft already having JJ and Chinn at CB. Of course then we wouldn't have Hurts. 11 picks, there WILL be plenty of youth injection which is sorely needed

One thing we do know.. the Eagles absolutely focus on cap space and how projected salaries come into play.

DeSean was in a gang... ironically he was cut as his salary was about to go through the roof.

Shady was " traded by Chip"  ironically Murray,  Sproles and Matthews had less of a cap hit combined than Shady.

Hurts was drafted,  ironically it was peanuts for a backup QB, similar to what they got with Flacco in how they did his contract.

Wentz is the absolute worst human on the planet, ironically cutting him saves about a million this year and over 20 million next year.

Kelce and Graham, they just love the organization and were easily wooed to stay, yet they both got raises in a way that saved decent cap space for now.

Could a reason that the Eagles like to draft QB and linemen with top half of the first round picks ...be that they feel those spots will be the higher paid positions and want to lock those guys in?    With CB and WR in the next tier and why they have drafted those positions ( 3 WRs and 1 CB) at picks around 20?

Idk, but same ownership for almost 30 years,  maybe a new coaching staff that all of them were in grade school at the time Lurie bought the team... they will persuade change in philosophy and draft strategy?    Idk.  I would wager against it though.

It's great on your part.   I don't have to imagine that the organization prioritizes DL.   Graham over Earl Thomas and the rest of the last 25 plus years tells me so.

If you just hired new coaches... and have all young players ..6 of them with 4 recently being drafted... you would think " development" of these young guys should happen.   Yet either way..  your DL after this year only has Graham, Cox and Hargravd under contract.    Unless you are planning to win in 2021... it should be obvious what the previous 25 years are telling us?

Yeah all good points you make. Agholor was gone after his 5 years, so now it's time to draft Smith so we can lose him in 5 years😉

If Hurts doesn't do well, we will need WR's in here to make the QB position appealing(and we don't have those guys)
