Khalil Mack.

But check analytics... show me success of the teams who drafted WR in the top 12 vs teams who drafted linemen?

Like I said, Eagles do this to a fault.  They would take Barnett or Dillard over Dion Sanders or Jerry Rice... it's who they are.

I really do not disagree with you Joe. Just wondering who is there at 12 for them to take is all. Most seem to be borderline reaches if you ask me. Maybe Paye, or Slater...?

right, so the "top 3" at most positions is OPINION. So who knows who the "best" guy is? Depends where he goes and who what his team is like. Chase didnt play a down last year, but miraculously he is the 1 pick without playing a snap

And that is extremely telling that he is the consensus #1 WR without playing a snap last year.. Over your Heisman winner

Incase we do a mock contest...  ( I will need this info)  ... who is the 3rd DL you like... besides Paye and Barimore?

Right...." reaches for you... draft experts"   ( I'm clueless so I don't include myself with college players)  ... but we all know the Eagles are known to take guys a little early at positions they like.

Quick, name last team to win a SB drafting a WR in the first round and still on their roster?

Bucs Evans

Since drafting Evans... any DL taken in round 1?   How about KC or New England....  lol.

To me it's irrelevant, you need to build the whole puzzle... but you can bet that the Eagles analytics department is all over this.

Big thing I'm sure they are looking at.   When was the last time a team who went WR in back to back years won anything?

Nobody in-between?

I was talking DT,if you want DEs in that mix I would have to look at Jalean Phillipps. Ham likes Ojulari

Yes... all DL.  Paye, Barimore and anyone else ... gotta get the names incase we do a contest.

Smith is small. That is why he is not the 1st WR on everyones board. Not surprising. And Howard was one of the best returners all time. Yes he did not do anything at WR, but to say he was a failure is not fair. The only reason Washington took him was to prevent another team from drafting him. At the time they already were loaded at WR so Howard was not going to play much anyway.... Art Monk, Gary Clark and Ricky Sanders

Ruggs was small. I dont recall him being injured either

Actually think it makes it worse if he messes up the pick you are basically saying we believe we can get a stud at 12 we have 12 guys rated that highly. If you blow that pick and Miami lands a Stud at 6 makes him look stupid in my eyes

Much of it comes down to does Chase or Pitts fall to six? If one of them does I’d say that’s reason enough to fire Rosie.

Phillips,Ojulari and I believe Owuzurike is underrated. I wouldn't reach for him at 12, but if we moved back to 19,20 I could justify that pick

A mock draft from McShay/Kiper.

NFL Draft: Jaylen Waddle falls to the Eagles in ESPN’s 3-round mock (usatoday.com)

The first four picks were Waddle, Bolton, Melifonwu and Cisco. I find this interesting because, while there is no consensus in who we take, there is a lot of consensus in what positions we should take - namely WR and back seven of the defense.

For example, Tankathon's latest updated mock has us taking Parsons, Marshall and Richie Grant. NBC sports had us going Smith, Samuel and Jamar Johnson. Something called Grueling Truth had us taking Horn, Marshall and Werner.

The names are all different, but the positions are the same, meaning that we have some pretty obvious needs on this team to the point that everyone has us taking the same few positions early in the draft.

This would be a quality draft

I know(GRRRRR) If Pitts get past ATL,I can pull my hair out. BOTH of them!!! ATL holds the key to the first round draft,no question about it

Agreed..  Chase falling to 6 and drafting Nate Gerry are the 2 biggest reasons to fire Howie.    We can overlook how he created 2 dumpster fire seasons in a row for both Andy Reid and Wentz on their way out...  Chase falling to 6 is way more of a sign of failure!

You could also put Rousseau in,but there are injury concerns there.much like we are talking about Farley. He could move up into that mix I suppose

Since 2000, 3. Evans was #7 for TB.  Thomas was #22 for Denver and Holmes was #25 for Pitt. So only 1 team won a SB since 2000 drafting a WR in the top 20. This lends to Joe's argument that drafting a WR in the top of Round 1 does not translate to winning a SB.... Just food for thought.

We're not going to the SB regardless lol,but it would be nice to get some WR's we can have for 4-5 years IN A ROW

I hear you, but Marshall in round 2 is OK for me... Heck even move up to get him if needed.... Shouldn't take allot to do so...

Yeah Horn/Surtain and Marshall is fine. If Smith goes to the gnats, there is no reason to reach for a WR. Joe could be right and we go line. I am clueless, especially with Howie as captain of the Titanic
