Djax knew the system, Alshon knew the system. We have no "vets' per se. We could add one even during the draft, but I don't see how we can fail to get a decent one. Even nice ones through round 4 if you look. Just be nice to have 3 starters that can play together for more than a year(aka chemistry which we don;t have)

I hear you, but Marshall in round 2 is OK for me... Heck even move up to get him if needed.... Shouldn't take allot to do so...

I like the 2 guys from Clemson if we go later. Nothing wrong with either Rodgers or Powell. Not top flight game breakers, but both are solid picks

Since 2000, 3. Evans was #7 for TB.  Thomas was #22 for Denver and Holmes was #25 for Pitt. So only 1 team won a SB since 2000 drafting a WR in the top 20. This lends to Joe's argument that drafting a WR in the top of Round 1 does not translate to winning a SB.... Just food for thought.

At this point I’d much prefer one of the top CBs at 12 and then a WR in round 2 or 3.

https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/big-boards/2021/consensus-big-board-2021   If this list means anything, according to them all 3 WR's will be gone by 12. The next BPA is Slater at OT

That's my favourite Mock Draft site - their 'consensus' takes an average of 50 other big boards, so the effect of any outliers are minimised.

Using their rankings, the following (no trades) mock is feasible:-

12. CB Jaycee Horn
37. LB Jamin Davis
70. Edge Payton Turner
84. WR Nico Collins
123. S Tyree Gillespie
150. DT Darius Stills
188. OL Royce Newman
224. CB Shemar Jean-Charles
225. RB Chris Evans
235. TE John Bates
240. Edge Charles Snowden

I don't know about you,  but this would do for me.

And we have seen the Eagles have this before at WR...still have some success... because their philosophy is build with the lines.  They have always invested picks and money on the lines.  Right now,  they have the money invested, but not the picks. Logic should say the picks are coming.

That success has yielded one SB victory... It isn't exactly the staple for success is it?

Wasn'y Pumphrey the NCAA carreer rushing leader when he came out?

Yep.

Quote

Pumphrey is the official all-time leader in rushing yards in NCAA Division I FBS history. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and spent offseasons with the Eagles and Detroit Lions. He played for the DC Defenders of the XFL in 2020.

Proof that collegate success doesn't always lead to NFL success.

I think he broke Ron Daynes record who also wasn't very good in the NFL

A hypothetical.

Greg Richards on Twitter: "Hypothetical: At 12, top two CBs and Waddle are off the board. DeVonta Smith available. Ravens call and offer 27 and 31 for 12." / Twitter

The Ravens will be somewhat desperate for OT help after trading Brown, and it is doubtful that a day 1 starter will be there at 27. Slater and Sewell might be off the board, but Vera Tucker played right guard and left tackle, so he could probably play RT without issue.

I would probably make this trade. Another hypothetical? 27 and 31 for Mailata. I would probably do that trade as well.

It could be an interesting few weeks.

They’re probably going to sign Villanueva (after May 5th when signing FAs no longer impacts the compensatory pick formula), so I don’t think they’re going to be desperate for an OT (they also have Stanley).

But if they offered 27 and 31 for Dillard I’d do it without hesitating.

His college success was at RB, we tried to change him into a WR. Would you hire a carpenter to do your plumbing? We successfully ruined his shot at any career at all

I would trade Dillard for a box of Tastykakes

Yeah, IDK when I think of a rebuild I don't want to replace an entire room at once, needs to be slow and thought out. We need youth on the D line for sure,so my point is DT or DE is the most pressing? Not that I wont address both, but which piece needs replaced first and which one can be replaced next year. Like having you son as an apprentice, bring him along until he can do your job before you retire. If you don't you have to sell the biz

Tastykakes aren't around long enough to get stale at my house.

Hey couch....the NFL will probably have an expansion team across the pond before too long. What are the thoughts about that over there? I know NFL Europe died on the vine. I think it would be a logistical disaster, but money rules lol

Haven't has a Tastycake since they changed the Tandycake recipe

Hershey's chocolate since they went to Mexico sucks. At least the syrup does. We have local chocolate or mail order from Wilbur in Lititz, PA

Oh yeah, forgot about Daynes. Wasn't it him and Tiki Barber - Thunder & Lightning?

Yes! But not Mailata.  I believe he still has a ceiling to max out and I LOVE his mean streak.

I would go Edge this year and Interior next year.
