Right, it's why you give Hurts 2 years... but also let's see how the young WRs develop.   The defense and specifically DL need some youth and talent.   WR, we could go free agent in 2023 after seeing how the youth develops.  At that point you can make the move for a QB too.   Get things in place to start competing by 2024-25.

Sure, but the question is how good are the "youth" WR's we have. I mean if they reached their ceilings we lack talent there. Other than Reagor we have PS late round talent. Cant expect miracles from that group. If we go get FA's,then they don't play,so it's catch 22

Lmao had nothing to do with QB and us we were talking fields and his fall

LMAO.No we were talking about how it's harder because there was no combine(noone mentioned QB's)

Lmao  I did literally the first post you quoted mentioned fields fall from grace.

LMAO,no my post was about the lack of a combine,I never mentioned QB's. You brought up Fields, which had nothing to do with my "no combine" post

Well, My issue is just draft someone that will start! You are assuming they will draft a player you have picked out. When was the last time that happened?

I just want a solid player that has possible All Pro in the future... Heck, just get me solid starters!  I can't be picky with this team....

We haven't been able to do that since the SB team

Interesting article in NFL website from Next Gen stats. They list 6 players as  "can't Miss" Players.

Lawrence,

Pitts

Chase,

Surtain,

Horn,

Parsons,

And Toney! - Here is a WR that is projected late 1st round. I find that interesting.....

All of the defensive Players I would take over any other Offensive players, so I am in agreement on the 1st five listed.....

Who do you cut to get him?

Yes... it's a question.   But you know what's not a question.   The fact that we do not have any DL under contract past this season... except Graham,Cox and Hargrave.    No youth.  That isn't a question.

So my question about the questions... isn't it better to find out if the young guys can play at a position where you actually have young guys?   Incase they can play, then you just added to another position.  If they can't play, then you still added to another position and then you can go address it.

As you say... we need everything... so why not look at the roster at positions where you do not have young guys...  and get some young guys?

Well, WE do not know what Reagor can do as yet so need to give him time. GB Packers top 3 WR's were drafted in the 2nd, 5th and signed as a FA. It can be said that had they drafted one in the first round instead of a QB that they might have made the SB. Not a sure thing, however, the point being we may have a solid WR on our roster that will surface this year. But drafting one in the 2nd or 3rd round should be enough this year. Maybe get a solid RB also? all the rest of the top picks in the first 4 rounds should be defensive players IMO...

Yes, I think a very quality RB is being underrated. We could really pound the ball on people. Could be the easiest and cheapest huge gain for the offense.

Reagor, that is ONE WR out of 3 needed.ONE. I suppose that is terrific for a supposed ONE read QB since he only needs ONE. Depends for me, if Waddle is there, I am taking him. You'd be foolish not to. BTW I cannot compare us to GB as far as developing WR's WORLDS apart. Maybe we close the gap a bit with this new staff, but we won;t know that either unless we get some top tier talent in here

Foolish seems really harsh. I’m sure there are plenty of studs at all positions in this draft. Just get a beast. Taking a WR in the second followed by a first rounder...,makes it really hard to draft a WR in the first. Plus supposedly our HC forte is developing WR. We have plenty of young talent on board that needs developing.

Caplan saying Ertz will definitely be traded by the end of the draft.

I thought at this point he needed to be a post June first trade

If Waddle is at 12, I take him. I can spend the next 2 on CB's back to back if I wanted to or like I said go  WR,CB,LB,CB. I would take a CB if Waddle is gone. Sorry guys if Reagor is the only "threat" WR we have,we aren't going anywhere. Time to clear out the dead wood on this team.

Or take Barmore in the first and a pass rusher on day two.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/R/ReagJa00.htm    This is pathetic right here. The last #1 WR Agholor wasn't much better. Wanna try again???? A)We are clueless on WR's to draft and how they fit in our OWN system B) My round 1 pick needs to do alot better than this(or why did I waste the pick on him) C) If your #1 WR pick can't produce by year 2, the entire WR staff needs to be fired. Now I'm not expecting a rook to get 1200 yards(even though others do), but JFC they better by year 2 at least show they are on the upswing. This is annoying and frustrating when you can't get the ball to your playmakers

You need instant gratification. I’m thinking more long haul. Reagor wasn’t even close to being the most polished receiver. He also got injured, which he doesn’t have a history of. Traditionally the third year is the big breakout year for wide receivers.

On other news SF going Mac Jones is cooling off now Trey Lance is starting to get hype at 3.

Lance would be a good fit there Shanny get maximum him plus they could let him sit for awhile behind Jimmy G if needed

Hard to say. Does sound good. But I’m kind of thinking the really massive price they paid for the third pick almost demands they trade Garrapolo to recoup some of that.

Fields definitely has a bigger arm

Well it was a swing and a miss last year. How many times will we fan at this position? If he is there I take him, if not, CB and a WR at 37(actually I want Pitts HAHAHA)

Reagor will be fine. Hightower not sure but he’s looking serviceable with improvement. Watkins should fit in this O great.

SO,IDK we need everything. It's a sad display of how poorly run this team is. The SB was a star and planet aligned FLUKE

Yes, too many needs to say we’d be dumb not to take a certain position. Just get us some good players. Rebuild

I agree. The mentality of build this team right now should be a marathon, not a sprint.

I have to SMH when I see college teams who are continuously in post season/bowl games. They can't re-sign players, yet every year there they are contending. They don't even pick their players, they use what the school recruits for them, every year they make it work. Bama,Clemson,OSU, LSU, Georgia. None have really fallen away, but somehow we can't do that here(despite trying the Chip experiment) Smaller schools like Cincy, BYU, UFC, Maimi don't even get the top recruits, yet come draft day they put players on the radar. So IDK why we fail year after year. It's sad and annoying as a fan. I suppose on the converse, few players leave and you have them for 4-5 years once you locate them(so yes freshmilk I will argue with myself if I choose to)

UFC is cage fighting. Miami I wouldn’t ever consider the little guy. Recruiting high school kids is a whole different ball game than the ultra competitive level playing field of the NFL. Just no way to compare.

Biggest part of the combine that's missed is a part we never get to see - the interviews. That and the behind the scenes talks/business w/ other teams

And the medicals

Jimmy G not getting them anything close to what they gave up likely wouldn’t even get a 2nd for him. So really no point in rushing trade he will definitely get moved at some point but again if they went Lance they wouldn’t have to rush it
