I wouldn’t expect anyone to look great this year.  But if he shows promise, shows he checks a bunch of boxes that you want to see in a starting QB (smart, accurate, capable of reading defenses, ball security, ...) shows he continuously progresses as the year goes, then that’s a good start.

Shows he can pass the ball 25 yards would be nice

Yeah...nobody considers a guy injury prone because he got hurt in college.

I don't look at college at all.   I'm concerned with the Eagles... not Southeastern Tech.

Tank game: no team. Whole organization trying to lose the game. But hurts should overcome all that, right? His completion percentage of 35 percent should totally be the basis of judging him. You are the one feeding your narrative. I don’t think he was fantastic. But he did show quite a few positive things that make me want to see more. He isn’t going to be MVP of the league. Not looking for that from him. He can play QB in the NFL. That I saw. He proved to me he is a leader. He proved he is smart enough to absorb and run the offense. Proved he is super fast. Proved he’s tough. Proved he can throw the ball for a bunch of yards. A bunch of things to work with here. I’m not anointing him for much. Just think he deserves a legit shot.

The coach was told to make sure not to win the game. I do care about using those Tank game stats against Hurts. It’s not remotely fair. Your main point seems based on a game the owner demanded the coach lose. Tom Brady wasn’t doing much better in that game. Fail! Try again

I'm curious on this.. because I honestly do not know the answer.

Hurts had a gimme TD throw...he missed pretty pathetically in the corner of the end zone.  Did he do it on purpose?  I can't say for sure, but if ever a player was " fixing" a game... to me that was it.  But then all the " disappointment " on the sidelines with Hurts not going back in.   There is BS one way or the other going on.

But if not, wow was that a pathetic throw if that was real legit effort!

Yeah just my narrative. Toth at T. Pryor manning the other T. Reagor pulled almost immediately. No Sanders. Whole organization trying to force a loss. Any QB would kill it in that situation. Clearly you are right. If any other QB was in he would have lit it up...like Suds...oh wait

It's how I feel the organization did for Wentz the last 2 years.  Like they tanked for 2 years.

My concern with Hurts.   His arm.  Can he throw off balance. Can he throw running left.   So far watching him play I don't see it.  Even the TD to DeSean it was a floater for 50 yards in the air. 50 yard floater isn't good in 2021.  DBs can catch up to that.

His height is another concern.  Seeing over the middle and not getting passes batted.

Still should have beat Seattle and win a playoff game. I don’t blame Wentz for everything. But he was a part of the problem. Didn’t throw the ball away. Didn’t develop any receivers. The team actually fixed the situation for Wentz by putting all assets into the offense. How much of the teams salary and draft went towards the O vs the D? Take away 2017....how many games was Wentz great in?

Also... 2nd half of every game was pathetic.   Not a good trend.  They stop him running and that's it?    Not good.  But he gets 17 starts if not 34 from me.  If he truly has all these intangibles...let him get better.  I could win the lottery tomorrow,  nothing to lose really.

His height is a negative. He doesn’t have the massive cannon arm. Those are fair complaints. I think he needs to improve his footwork and have his body positioning right. That’s my own complaint. That will help him be more accurate and put more zip on longer passes. Ball security he needs to improve also.

So where did Agholor develop in 2017 after being a waste for 3 years?  When did Fulgham look good for 5 weeks?

I blame Wentz for not being a savior.  Why oh why couldn't he lead a pathetic team to be just a bad team?   Oh the humanity!

Or a single playoff victory

But there are times where you can't put your footwork or body in the right position.  Still need to make throws.  If you want to set it up on a tee for Hurts, why not at least be upset Wentz didn’t have batting practice level pitching.

Yeah...that evil man getting injured after putting in the work all season.   I hate him, how could he do that to us! Why doesn't he care about football

His speed should give him better opportunities to setup than most in similar circumstances. But he needs to square up better.

You square up, you get the ball knocked out.   There are plays you need to make not squaring up.  It's the NFL, not college.

Wentz has the same issues. So inaccurate because he just didn’t square up. Potential was there. But became uncoachable. At least with Hurts I think we all agree he’s very coachable. His teammates back him. He’s not the Primma Donna.

Some is footwork...when you can’t set your feet you need to square up your shoulders to point towards your throw. You know ....other than Mahomes or Favre.

Hurts isn’t Mahomes. Never going to happen.

Does anyone think Hurts won’t improve? Anyone making the case Hurts is uncoachable?

Yet Wentz is still over a 60% guy always has been not 52%. Wentz seemed to have zero issues with good coaches that knew what they were doing Reich/Flip smart intelligent coaches that pushed him

Also this super coachable QB yet terrible accuracy terrible at making reads etc.

Teddy to the Broncos for a 6th this is the Jimmy G range I see for a QB

I think what we found out is that Reich and Flip had big resumes to give them authority. Got a kid from N Dakota that wasn’t bigger than the coaches. I think Groh and Taylor are good coaches. I don’t even doubt it. These guys will be in the league for a long time...watch. But Taylor and Groh were here for the SB run year also. Taylor was very much involved with Wentz. He deserves credit for that. Even when he was just Assistant QB coach. Saw how Reich snapped both right up.

Wow you really gathered so much from three games. He’s terrible at making reads? Terrible Oline and zero experience at WR....but that’s all Hurts fault. It wasn’t all Wentz fault either. Accuracy? Same as the reads PLUS....I have 128 attempts and 70 completions. Slightly better completion percentage(because everybody ...but BG agrees to not count tank games against anybody).

4 games and he has been so coachable since high school started at Bama lost his job and then went to easy big 10 in Riley O to pad stats

How isn’t accuracy a QBs fault lmao he wasn’t hitting Wr and they were dropping the ball he was missing completely
