Alijah Vera-Tucker at the bottom of that list is probably the one guy we HAVEN’T talked about that could actually be the pick at 12 or in a small move back. Really only heard rave reviews about him. Being pigeon holed at G in the NFL because of his arm length.

Probably would be a G considering there were talks of Brooks on the block early in the offseason wouldn’t shock me if we got a new G...

The SB is still just football. Let’s not make it out to be some whole different sport. Winning football is winning football. To beat a top team in week nine you gotta do the same thing you do in the postseason.

Not really.. the gimmick of the running QB in one week of the regular season isn't as big of a deal, when next week you go play someone else.

When you play one in the playoffs it's different when there is no next week.

You gotta be able to throw the ball. But not as much if you have a great rushing attack and defense.
Payton Manning comes to mind some here strange enough. Threw for tons of yards in college on the best team. Never won. Threw for a ton of yards every year. But when he won his SB he threw 7 interceptions to only 3 TDs that postseason....he was carried by his defense and rushing attack. Dan Marino was unbelievable. The best passer of the football ever! Never won it all.

And again... tell me how many playoff games over the years a run first QB won...  where he has more rush attempts than completions?    It doesn't work.

Just saw headline " 2 out of 36 Howie draft picks since 2016 have played 16 games in a season"

Wentz and Seumalo.

Ironically they were the first 2 picks... so the better headline,  " None of Howie's last 34 picks have played 16 games in a season."

Funny that Wentz did it twice with Seumalo only doing it once.   That fragile man...lol

Shocker goes to show it isn’t all on the QB but a team effort.... Rodgers is arguably going to become the greatest passer of all time if he stays at his level of play yet 1 SB... Brady arguably the GOAT won most his SB thanks to great D play. Honestly very few teams can we say won without extremely good defenses.

And Brady played in a cupcake division the ENTIRE time of his run in NE giving him a bye and at least one home playoff game EVERY year. THAT helped a LOT too.

Yup 6 free games a year lol

Thinking we hold at 12 and take Paye if he is there. If Not then it could be Horn. If both are gone we should move back.

When you can run the ball on people it works. It’s not a gimmick. Just listed off how a third of the league now has QBs that run. If you can go through a season with only two losses with a QB that can run the football....then you can win in the postseason. Still just football. Still the same game.

Tell me how many QBs run more than they attempt a pass? I didn’t think we were going near that extreme. I thought we are talking about QBs that can run.

Oh yeah it did. They realigned the whole league with four team divisions really setting the Pats up. Get a bye, win a home game and they were in the AFC championship.

The day has finally arrived.

We can put the speculation behind us and get on with complaining about who Howie picked.

AMAZING that people know that Hurts will be terrible after 4 games. These same people make excuses for Wentz that he had no O-Line and bad coaching, yet they do not make these excuses for Hurts. He had no TC. Will he be good? I have no clue, but no one here should either. Give the dude a chance. He deserves that much at least. Maybe week 4 or 5 this year we should have a good idea if he will be worth building around or not. At least we have the capital to replace him should he fail.

Hard to miss at 12

But it's HR - where there's a will, there's a way

Tonight's not the biggie, the meat of the draft is.

If we draft either - Surtain, Horn, Smith, Waddle, Parsons or Paye, will anyone be really upset? I would only if they draft a OT as I see that as the one position we seem OK at for now. I am assuming we do not trade back...

CB our biggest need

JL & HR want to save face and for Hurts to succeed. Is that WR, TE or OL?

Need LB & pass rush

Hoping for a mad rush for QB's, drop someone to us. If Surtain is there he gets my vote,  other than that would love to see Parsons then the WR's or Horn.

I keep hearing that they are listening to the scouts this year. We will know that soon enough. Maybe not with today's pick but by Saturday afternoon we should know......

Denvers' pickup of Bridgewater should't preclude them from picking a QB - should it? He's competition for Lock as the b/u I would think.

Saying it and doing it are 2 different things

Suuuuuuure they are.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Is one of the reasons HR's still here with his poor drafts is he seeks JL's approval on his picks, then JL can only blame himself and not hold HR responsible?

Just a thought.

I'm still going with Howie has compromising pictures  of Lurie with farm animals

I've suggested previously that IF Lurie is indeed influencing some of the recent draft picks as has been reported (JJAW, Hurts, etc), then Howie serves to take the bullets for the owner.   Howie has been a problem for a long time ... starting to think Lurie is as big a problem.  Too bad he owns the damn team and can't be fired.

We all know Howie cannot draft. But he is the only GM to have won a SB for us. He does well on trades and contracts. Probably why he is still here. He probably has a long leash. Question is- "How Long?".  I would think he probably has 2-3 drafts to turn this thing around before Lurie has no choice but to move on. I would think Howie knows this and will do whatever he can to make hits on this and next year's draft. 1 Pro Bowler in the past 6 drafts and he is no longer on this team speaks volumes.

He has no choice. He has to listen to the scouts and coaches to at least make a smart pick. IF the player he wants is not rated as low as 12 he needs to attempt to trade back. Patience is the key for a solid draft. It appears Howie has little......

Broncos insiders seem to think it will come down to QB, OT or trading back.
