Name your price. I bet Newsome has a better career than both Watkins and Marcus Smith. We can bet any amount.

Is he still a massive reach or do you want to walk back a little?

Wow, going out on limb there....lol

Not hard to have better career then those two doesn’t make him worth the 12th pick and yes he is still a massive reach

You were the one who made the comparison, not me.

$300 bucks says he don’t make 3 pro bowls

So who at 12 do we draft that makes three pro bowls?

Remember we let him run some plays all through the year before the got the starts at the end. SO he has 1/2 year in. I think he would need to show us something or we will replace him in the 2022 draft(keep him as a BU)

I'm not rushing it.  If he isn't the guy, they need to leave absolutely zero doubt.   With his intangibles and liability, it won't be a popular decision to move on until even guys like JBS and Ham admit it.    30 plus games building chemistry with his guys. Gotta give him that shot. We can build up the team in that time frame. Lots of holes.

Who knows but should be the goal no?? I don’t like Paye wouldn’t be my pick either but is who I think is likely. Yes I set a high bar for a high pick. Our last drafted  pro bowl D player Fletcher Cox in 2012.

Ill stick my neck out on a player though and say Micah Parsons said before think he is the best D player in this draft. Think he will be one of the best Lbs in football for the next decade

Said he screams reach like those two which stand true to me just because he player tad better last a tad longer doesn’t make him not a reach lol

I'm just saying we are already in a position next year to replace him should a top prospect(aka franchse QB) be available in the draft or FA

It's hard to follow your logic. Is Paye that much of a better prospect than Newsome? Both are good athletes with limited college production that has pushed them down draft boards. If Paye had more sacks or Newsome more interceptions, they would both be rated much higher.

I really don't get the logic that Paye is going to be a much better player than Newsome. How much tape study have you done to come to that conclusion? Newsome is also two years younger, which is kind of a big deal.

I think Paye is a reach also won’t like that pick either. But doesn’t change the fact he is a likely pick.

My logic is simple I want great players not just guys cuz they fill a need. If your not willing to stick your own neck out for Newsome 3 pro bowls seems minor if you truly believe in the guy as worth the 12th pick

Sometimes I cannot tell if you are serious or joking lol.

We have the ammo to grab a top QB in the draft next year, so I doubt they wait past next draft to decide Hurt's fate. IF he does not perform we need to go after another QB. I guess we could have both compete for another year, but we need to at least bring someone in....

I don’t think we pick at 12 though think we end up trading up. Also believe if we trade up it will end up being a QB

But he fits the system.  Idk, I think sometimes we get too technical about things.   Labeling guys due to systems their college coaches play for a couple seasons.     I think it's reading too much into it.    Trying to be too smart.

Especially at this stage, let's establish something first, before we worry too much about specific systems etc.   We aren't there yet.

Not worried about systems lol just don’t think he is al that special of a player

I'm not joking at all.  When we move on from Hurts there needs to be ZERO doubt.   I want to let him play 2 seasons.   Build up the team around him.. this way, you don't make that comment about using a excuses for Wentz, but not Hurts.  Hurts is likable unlike that selfish dude in Indy, intangibles through the roof, you can't teach that stuff... so when you move on from that kind of rare charisma,  you need to be sure.   100% leave no doubt sure.  He gets 2 years from me without hesitation.

Your logic is way worse to follow your logic is because we are looking at a reach we should look at other reaches????  You clearly don’t want to stick your neck out and say Newsome is worth that 12th pick

My thoughts as well

I did a mock draft up to pick 12. It went Lawrence, Wilson, Lance, Pitts, Chase, Waddle, Sewell, Surtain, Fields, Horn and Smith.

The top players left on the board were Slater, Jones, Paye and Barmore.

My first preference in that scenario would be to trade back. But if no one wants to trade back, and I had those four players to pick from, I would take Newsome instead.

Stine, let's take a step back and think.

We agree the team isn't good?  Or do you think it was only Wentz?   If the team isn't good, how can you judge Hurts fairly?

Then after he plays one year on this not very good team, you want to use all the picks you worked to get for another QB.  But maybe that guy will compete with Hurts?    If use all that ammo to move up, that guy needs to be the man, no doubt about it.

For me,  I can see the Eagles pick between 12-16.  The Dolphins pick late teens.  Indy probably mid to late 20s.

I'm using our pick, looking to trade one of the other 2 for a player... similar to Diggs, Cooper, Ramsey or Fitzpatrick.  The other pick we could trade back and get more assets.

I'm thinking it gives Hurts a more legit shot to succeed in 2022, if not, we still have assets to get a QB. But by then the team should have more young pieces in place.

To simply evaluate Hurts this year and then give up everything to move up in 2022 just doesn't seem like a smart way to use the assets.   Like a rush job.

But I guess if people want Howie fired, investing all that ammo in a new QB who won't have much to work with is probably a good way to do it.

Out of those 4 players you listed I’d go Slater. But think Slater is the best player. Thought Maialta did fine but was by no means great and could be upgraded on.

But again I would agree the best option might be trading back in that scenario though again I still think we end up trading up in the draft

But I also don’t try and put my biased into the picks I go by what I think the Eagles are likely to do and as Joe has stated many times DL seems likely just looking at the roster and what the Eagles value most. Which leads me to believe Paye is the likely pick of we sit at 12

I have a feeling the Giants draft Paye and we trade back.

If New England trades in front of us for QB #4.  And QB #5 is there at 12.    Could be Washington and Chicago looking to move up?
