IF Hurts is the QB of the future, you now have possibly 3 1st round picks next year to grab D-Line, O-Line and other pressing needs... Who can argue with that?

Regardless of Hurts... we should still use those picks for what you just mentioned.  A rush job to evaluate Hurts based on a rookie WR doesn't seem smart.   He should get even more time to improve if you want to be fair.

My wish list for round 2.

JOK. He would be a slam dunk at 37, and I think he goes at 33. But he may slip because teams may see him as a tweener. To me, he is absolutely perfect as a slot corner in a cover two defense. A group of Wilson, Singleton and JOK never needs to come off the field regardless of whether the opposing offense is in 11, 12 or 13 personnel.

Asante Jr. Perfect for a cover two defense. Fills the biggest need.

Bolton. Perhaps the best MLB in the draft. Somewhat raw, but a ton of production and we don't have a MLB on the roster, so another good fit.

Moehrig. Safety isn't a need, but if he's there, he's great value.

Now, Samuel is still on the board. Would you trade away your 5th round pick to insure you can get him? Arguably the 4th best CB in the draft to go with the 2nd or 3rd best WR in the draft seems like a win win for me.... But they would need to jump up into the jets spot to do it...

Samuel is the last of the "guys I can count on to start" I believe we need to take him because there is a drop off in quality after that.We can wait until the 70 pick for one, but I would not. The cavern between talent is grand Canyon sized. I was touting Moehrig, first to bring him up. I would be ok with that pick also although I believe CB is more pressing a need. I am hoping for either of those 2 at 37. We may not address LB until much later because thats what we do,ignore that position, so at 70 I would look for a D lineman

Would you give up this years 6th and next years 5th for Samuel at pick 34?

Pick 200 means nothing.   Should we give it to Dallas for no reason?

2 different things.

I know you have to defend everything Eagles... like an adorable 7 year old.   But why can't you have a real conversation?

Do you think pick 84 was the reason Dallas passed on the Bears offer?  Or did they just want Parsons the whole time?  Very easy question?

Dullaz wanted Parsons. They had stated they did not want to move back "too far" A drop of 2 ensured they still got their guy. We could have given up a 6th and another 6th next year(or whatever) and probably got that deal done(because basically we were the only trade partner because Dallas didn't want to fall back that far). SO now the argument becomes "how bad did you want Smith AND/OR avoid him going to the Gnats" I like Smith, but I think the 84 was too high. Apparently in Howies view,he didn't want to risk it,so he gave more than he should have. That is my OP. Since it is now understood they talked about this during the week, Howie could have probably made that trade for a 4th,5th or a pair of 6's. So that is my complaint, not that we took Smith where we did, just think it could have been done at less cost. But it's done, and there is no point to continue arguing about it

I don't look at it as a "Rush Job". I look at it as a much better way to help evaluate sooner. It may not be a year to do this process, but I think you will have a much better idea by the end of the season. Should he stink when he has time and weapons, I would think they may seriously think about drafting another QB next year. Obviously if he does perform that badly, we will FINISH LOW, SO DOING THIS SHOULD NOT COST US. However, WE may see him do well. Regardless if we know or not, in this case we ignore the QB need for next year and draft other spots required....

You are over analyzing this. Dallas may not do the deal just to piss off Howie unless he comes up with what they want. Or better yet, call NY and tell them what the Eagles are offering. Then the Giants offer a 5th and we still get screwed. Be happy we got what we wanted and still got a 1st next year

I like Samuel Pick more, but feeling here is he will be off the board before 37....

AT 37 I am looking at Samuel(CB)/Moehrig(S). At 70 I would be looking at Joseph or Adebo. Pick your poison. For me it depends what other options there are at 37

Barmore at 37 seems like a good fit for us

Sure.it was blackmail and they still got their guy and NY raped the Bears, but they got their guy too. Onward we go

Yes,if it wasn't the first 6 pick because that is very close to the end of round 5 and we can still; get a decent guy there. I would give one of the 223,224 perhaps both

Seems you and BG are the only two that think this is a big mistake. Why? Because your predictions were wrong? LOL

I didn’t like the trade up hardly was just me and joe but have no issues with the player. Whether it’s a mistake or not only time will tell that hopefully it works out

We talked to Quinn Meinerz quite a bit. He would have to be the 37 pick(or we could probably trade back fairly far and still get him). He would replace kelce. He can rotate as an OG to get his feet wet. If we are rebuilding we need to replace a pro bowl OC with another one

Well, I prefer another player at 12 or 10. Heck I even told everyone that I left out Smith and Slater in my contest so be sure to include them if you want to win!

I do understand it though. I also am happy we gained a 1st round pick in the process. IF they can grab a starter at CB or LB with the next pick I will feel we did OK this draft regardless of the other picks.... It would mean we drafted two solid starters for a change.....

If we traded back at 37 we would/could still get Meinerz or the OSU OC,probably either Joseph or Adebo at CB(at 70) and have another pick. Thoughts?

I know we talked to Turner, who is gone,we also talked to Sills from WV(DT). So I suspect we address DT at 188, roughly where Sills should go. I would like to add a decent RB,but IDK if we do that. Love Herbert at 123 if we do and Janauris Robinson at edge at 143,so those are my day 3 hopefuls

Most View Samuel as a Starter at the next level. The rest are not sure prospects. My opinion would be to make sure you get him or another starter instead of moving back and possibly lose out... Be Sure.

I really like Samuel know some are saying he is a slot guy though would he be able to play outside seems like the bigger need for us outside CB.

Really like Joseph from Kentucky as well think he would fit nicely

yes, I stated that earlier. Joseph and adebo wouldn't take too much effort to get going,so for me those are possibles at 70. I know I am the only one(and TTR) concerned with replacing Kelce. But I feel strongly we should get a "specialist" and not more round 6 OG wannabe OC. If we are serious about a rebuild, an OC is a MUST HAVE in my book

Keep in Mind that Dallas still Needs a CB. They got screwed that both of the players they wanted got taken right before them, so they "Settled"  for a LB. The one position where they actually have a couple players. They now Still need a CB, Edge and DT. so they are no better off then they were yesterday, except they have another pick. A pick I feel they will use to move up in round 2....

That LB they got is a stud and we seen the impact stud LBs can have

Yes, Question is why did everyone pass up on him if he was the best Defensive player in the draft? Why did many teams supposedly remove him from their draft board?

I am not questioning his talent. Will he screw up his chances to be a pro for the next decade?  Also, Dallas already has Vander Esch and Smith at LB. Only two play at a time, so one sits for a third of the game. Seems to me grabbing  a starting CB or S would have made more of a difference. Also someone who can rush the QB.....
