Doug forgot to consult with Ham on this to see if it was ok.    I find it weird for a coach to not be 100% locked in on his ideas that he had in May and June... complete shock that situations may change over time... lol.   Plus we all know that coaches never just give a quick answer just to get on to the next question and be done with the interview ASAP.    I find it odd to show such disloyalty to the media...lol.   Things change... different players adjust differently.  JJAW coming out late from Stanford is a different situation that Reager this year.  It seems even in college that Reager has played all over the field while JJAW was pretty much the outside guy.   Every year and every player are different, thinking one way works all the time isn't a great approach.    Without Alshon or Goodwin ... we need to get the talent out on the field at WR.  Reager is a huge key ASAP.   I'm not talking about overwhelming the kid with the playbook, just the need to get him on the field.  you can limit his assignments without limiting his time on the field.

Head Coach said. This is player said. Different points of view here. Head Coach said I want to start him out behind the veteran I’d love him to emulate. Player that can’t even get rookie mini camps in said I’m studying both positions in the playbook. Hasn’t been on the field doing it against competition. Just studying his playbook.

I’m saying it was a failure to try and do too much and move Dillard to RT. You’re right at LT. High expectations there. JJAW maybe needs to settle into one spot also. So let’s not get crazy with Reagor either.

Looks like i misunderstood your post.

I think Doug is not so good at press conferences.  He has blatantly lied in multiple of his most recent press conferences, and I don't even think he is doing it on purpose.  It's like an idea comes into his brain, and he just runs with it, no matter if it's true or not.  I've learned to not listen to anything he says in a presser.  But hey, if that's his biggest flaw, then I'm fine with it.  Chip Kelly was great in press conferences.  Here's what Doug's brain looks like when Jeff McClane asks him a difficult question:

Empty Brain GIFs | Tenor

No way do you want to get the reputation for being honest.Teams will plan around your honesty. It's the old smoke and mirrors game

Me too,we played Dillard at RT because he was the best option, even though it was a bad option we had noone else,so he did the best he could and that just needs forgotten about

That we disagree on. Dillard wasn’t the best option at RT. It was forced.

Yes I know. Coach said he wants the player to focus on the one position first and grow from there. Recently the player reported he was studying two positions in the playbook. It’s a coach said versus player said situation. But some take the players words as the coaches plan....I wouldn’t go that far. Players have egos. They don’t think of themselves as limited.

I think it’s pretty clear and obvious to some that Reagor was brought in to play the Z. DJax, as much as you love him, is most likely playing his last season here. I’d be surprised and shocked if DJax can play 13 full games this year. So opportunities will be abounding at the position.

But the whole point I’m making isn’t that he can’t play all the WR positions. It’s just that he has to get there. How long does that take? I’m just saying let’s not force it all down his throat by week one. Let him get there.

I mean, they said he is working at 2 spots?  IDK if it's forcing down his throat... is it?     Lets take a look.  If you are so into labelling everyone... then in your mind JJAW has to start even if say goodwin was there and performed well.   You have these lables of X and Z etc. that you absolutely need to follow?????   To me, I just want my best guys out there.   I don't see why if the best 2 WRs are DeSean and Reager, why can't they be out there most of the time?    Can't a X and Z run similar stuff???     you can't run a slant or a go route from either spot?    you can't put one of them on the line with the other one off??   You can't put one in the backfield or in the slot?     The play GB showed with KC, they had 3 WRs, none of them seemed on the line vs press coverage as they went into motion?      How about we get the best talent on the field and we let Doug and co. call the plays that will work without worrying about the label of X or Z?   For a guy with Reager's pedigree, I don't see it being an issue.   Does he need full knowlege of the playbook at all positions... I don't think so, but should he be lined up all over the field in different combos or whichever may help the team better than just sitting until DeSean comes out of the game... yeah!

Start thinking about next yr kiddos. Not political but this thing's been so misshandled that there won't be a season. Rediculous! Do nothing to handle it ( on a national level ) then expect good results! OK, put out a fire by feeding it - works! That's as far as I'll go, see you next yr, basically.

Then why limit them? Supposedly we drafted him in round 1 because he wasn't a round 5 prospect, so the coach should support what the player wants to TRY.Maybe he discovers he isn't good at that spot, maybe he becomes a BEAST at that spot.Won't know if you limit him. As long as you don't overwhelm a rookie,I think you let them explore as many areas as possible. It will be evident early on if he can handle it or not

no Crystal Ball needed. Dillard said it right on Quick slants a few days before the game that he never played RT ever and he knew himself that he would have some struggles/growing pains but will try his best and see how it goes. :)

Well we tried him,so what if he would have ROCKED? Saying it was a bad decision because we had noone else is mere hindsight and if we would have killed it you'd say "great decision by Doug".It's not like we forced him to play all season there

I actually feel he did a great job at LT when he was given the chance last year when Peters went out. He just sucked at RT. But you said you wanted the crystal ball. Just stating the fact he didnt need one, Dillard gave him the heads up ahead of time, lol.

LOL yeah and the coach made his call,so apparently he felt he would do better than he did.he had to play RT because we were basically out of options no?

Apparently not since the next week they put Big V at RT and Matt Pryor at RG and had better success. So there was another option lol. But yes was worth a shot. Im confident with him starting at LT though.

His quote was along the lines of "If you're right-handed, try writing with your left hand."  Right then and there, I think they should have pulled the plug on him at RT, especially when you have Vaitai as the swing tackle.  I was all for it at the time, because he's a 1st round draft pick, and I wanted the best talent on the field.  But he strikes me as a player that can only handle the LT position.  If he's overwhelmed, he's not up to the challenge, and he told reporters that in 1 single quote.

**For the record, I am excited about Dillard.  I thought he was pretty good at LT when he played, specifically against the Bills, where he dominated.

Numbers are so inflated, noone has a clue what the real figures are.get run over by a truck, but if you test + for covid, thats what you died from.I throw the BS flag and I will put this to y'all right now.it's very simple.if this economy is not open in 4 weeks, covid will be the least of your worries. Now tell me again how a virus that escaped a level 4 bio lab will be stopped by face underwear.Sorry,I am not that gullible.PROTECT THOSE AT RISK,thats ALL we SHOULD be doing. No matter. If we are at the same point by Sept 1st,you won't need to worry about anything

156,000 out of what 70 million tested (even with the inflated numbers).DO THE MATH!!!! You have a better chance of being hit by a car lol .This is all political BS stupidity. And Just like that you gave up your freedom. No thanks.Herd immunity.it's not gonna go away and you ain't hiding forever.SO you can catch it,or maybe you'd feel so much better about yourself, if the govt injected you with it(that's what vaccines are!!!!) So yeah lets hide out forever so the govt can give it to me voluntarily when they can't even protect bagged lettuce???(how freakin dumb is that?).Nope not happening.

2 weeks of self quarantine isn't gonna make alot of difference. This whole season is already a disaster league wide.Cardboard fans, players opting out, people running scared over fear mongering .It's pathetic to watch how many prima donna pu**ies there are and I won't watch any sport that disrespects my country(that includes the NFL).So,I guess this winter I will be working on my train layout if I can't watch sports because I will never sacrifice my principles, and if they don't change their ways,I will be the one "opting out".OK I'm done with this

Why would this effect things?  He will probably be back in the building within 2 weeks.
