Need that mismatch when putting 2 TEs out there.   The last few years we couldn't run the ball with two TE sets.  Ertz, Perkins, Rodgers... didn't cut it as blockers.  Put a good one with Goedert and it should help with another aspect of the offense.   You should be able to run better in 12 than 13 .

Sorry you didn't get your apostrophe player, but I got my guy whose name I can't pronounce . Maybe next year we will get lucky and get that guy with both along with the hyphen

I've seen a couple of reports that Aaron Rodgers is gonna retire

Might be from the same people who said an Ertz trade is a sure thing though

IDK, losing respect for him with this new found attitude/whining when he doesn't get everything he wants.

We have to wait for June 1st to trade Ertz

Eagles fans are gonna be disappointed

Not much here to get angry about.

I’d probably have given the draft a B-B+... But really right now these guys are nothing but names they have top produce on the field now will we still be happy or upset which ever you are in 2-3 years is the real question

Snagged another UDFA C along with the round 6 pick we already had, Howie doing a CYA on Dickerson. I hope this guy can toughen up and stay healthy cause if so, he is pro bowl caliber and HUGE presence on the O line . That unknown WR from A&M would be great for jump balls in the EZ. We will work on his speed, but I doubt he would beat out Hightower

I am intrigued with Grimes. He shined in the senior bowl.If we can figure out how to use him(our staff should now) he could be a decent pick-up

Just little side note Newman threw a TD pass to Grimes in the Senior bowl lol those two already have little chemistry.

Also doesn’t hurt we have Grimes OC as your QB coach

Seems to be Eagles have a price set for Ertz and we are ok keeping him if we don’t get it.

So you put McCoy and Sanders together you get Gainwell

Well by no means am I gonna dub him as McCoy, Sanders, nor any other pro. But I will say that I like this kids heart, vision and decisiveness to hit the hole when he sees it. He doesn't dance around like trying to make up his mind. It's like……"there's the door…let me out!" lol

Kind of interested in what the plan is at LB.

have 3 cover Lbs in Wilson, Taylor and Stevens

have two rush LBs in Avery and Johnson

and two run defenders in Singleton and Edwards

I’d just be happy if Gains can become the 3rd down guy work on pass pro seems to have decent hands... Helps reduce Sanders role keep him fresh

What is it that you think they're planning for? A certain concept or a variety of playmakers across the D that can not only pressure but also help cover up receivers?

I think the draft gave us a lot of insight into what kind of defense we will run this year, and the likelihood that we will see a lot more 3 man and 5 man fronts.

Williams, Johnson and Marlon fit really well into this scheme, as do many of our existing players. Hargrave was a NT with the Steelers, and Marlon was a NT in college. Cox is a perfect under tackle. Graham can play the close end, and Williams can play both those spots. Avery and Johnson are the stand up rushers at the SAM position, and Sweat and Barnett are the open ends.

That gives us nine guys who are perfect for this system, and a potential backup behind Sweat/Barnett in Jackson and Ridgeway/McGill/Williams as the backup DT.

In the back seven, things get a little more murky. I would group them as the outside corners (Slay, James, Jacquet, Zech), the deep safeties (Epps, Harris, McLeod), the true LBs (Singleton, Wilson, Edwards, Bradley) and the guys I don't know what role they will have yet (Taylor, Maddox, Wallace, Stevens.)

It will be really interesting to see what defense we run next year, but we have the personnel to run a ton of different options. Two things I would note are that this scheme change likely salvaged Avery's career here, and I would expect him to get a decent number of snaps as a SAM, and the drafting of Stevens likely gives Taylor a year to learn the hybrid position behind a guy who actually played it, which should really help him.

Simple quick guesses would be Maddox nickel CB

Wallace doing something similar to what Harrison Smith does for Vikings

My guess our D will look very very similar to Minnesota’s

Lol..  there were some great names...

Racey McMath.... I guess he is quick when adding numbers...lol.    another guy " Cheesemen"    a few more classic too.   Always entertaining checking out the names during the draft.

We don't have to at all.   Might release him then though

I think so to, but with more personnel changes.

For example, we don't have someone like Anthony Barr. But we have Avery/Johnson to play the role he does when he is on the LOS, and Singleton when he plays more like a traditional LB.

We don't have a great safety like Smith, but Wallace can play his role when he is in the box and Epps can play it when he drops deep.

I would expect us to use a ton of different personnel groups to make up for the talent gap between our back seven and Minnesota's.

I’m not expecting the same player caliber but as you said we have guys that can be in those roles.
Avery/Johnson aren’t Barr and Wallace isn’t Smith those two are some of the best in the game but have to work with what we have

I was actually talking about style of running. McCoy danced around, sometimes too much. Sanders is more of the one cut and i'll see ya type of runner.

There's a little bit of both in Grimes but that doesn't means it's gonna translate to the pro game.

That makes sense... but a big detail to skip was the style...lol
