yeah, I'm better now that I know Howards contract is not guaranteed. In 2019 Henderson was the workhorse RB(1019 yards). Knowing he would be gone after 2020, they made him share carries to get their younger guy acclimated,so he got the majority of the touches(some guy named Israel). IDK I would bring in RB's that can run the ball. I would think that is the first thing you look at and not for just blocking ability. Hurts is mobile enough,he's not a pocket statue,so give me the 3,4 yard banger RB(which is what henderson does)

In a committee backfield I would look for RBs that excel in different areas just my approach. In a perfect world we would have 4 RBs that can do it all but that is unlikely.

Sanders/Gains- RB 1-2 these are my runners

Scott/Huntley- change of pace pass catcher I’d add return man for extra value here

Howard/Kerryon- the pass protectors someone we can trust in the backfield to help keep our QB up right. I lean Kerryon because think he could also be a threat in the pass game as well

Howard would be more immovable in PP I would think ,we could use him for that. If Kerryon sticks, he can do the chip block/run an out route maybe. I have to research Gains more. Hard to see what RB's can do cause they just show running highlights usually

Howard been the best pass pro RB since 2016 and Kerryon graded 2nd over the last two years both guys have been good in that area it’s why I like the competition for that specific role between the two

Agreed. I think Johnson may win out there but that's more because I'm hoping this team are going to go with younger guys.

I like Johnson more because usually 3rd down is the key pass pro down and think Johnson brings way more value as a pass catcher as well.  So he can stay in help protect the QB and you still got to respect him as a pass catcher.

I got no issue with it but your already mad because your saying touches are taken away from the young guys and you want to bring in a 25 year old rookie to take touches away from those young guys??? I’m trying to figure out exactly what you want

Good luck with that!

There are elements the Eagles offense has been missing for a few years.  Fundamentally it has hurt the team ..WITHOUT QUESTION!

This basically screwed the former coach and QB, by limiting play calling and results.

1.  Blocking TE .  Goedert is good,  but putting Erts, Rodgers or whatever garbage level blocker on the field, took away any advantage running the football that you are supposed to have with 2 TEs on the field.     We absolutely need to address that.

2.  The RB that can pass block.   Big issue because PFF loves our OL, they love to never blame our OL for sacks, pressures ...etc.   Yet " hike and run for your life" was half our offense last year.   PFF can't blame our OL, and out gullible fans eat that up, oh how they slurp up the PFF ... so it's obvious a blocking RB is going to help.

3.  Another element missing from our offense.  Blocking from WRs on bubble screen.

Some people think Siri is magically going to get WRs open quickly,  I'm of the reality based view, that it's not magic.  Players will need to execute to create this space.   So blocking will be important from our WRs.

Add it all up.... Blocking needs to improve from RB, TE and WR.   Absolutely a weakness the last few years, that needs to be addressed or else we stay behind other teams and never get any easy plays.

LMAO it's ONE play. Jebus. Yeah no sense trying things new. We try to make guys into other players ALL THE TIME, but Nah Mailata cannot truck anyone, he's a loser, but your totally fine trying to make QB's WR's and WR's TE's, OG's into C's and S's into LB's. Sorry I thought outside the box, you can stay in yours and I will let a guy with a RUGBY background truck some people once in awhile. So, which job is he suppose to focus in LT or RT?(because after all they are different). Maybe we can make a punter out of him

Exactly on the last part....he has to lear Left and Right side.

Why is Gainwell a lock? It's not like we haven't ruined draft picks before. Howard can get more YPC. Kerryon did little. We must owe someone a favor. Pick up the kid I posted. He will beat out Huntley and give Scott all he can handle and could easily be RB 4(or 3) and now you have all youth going forward and no more "vet" presence(aka wasted time). Sanders is the vet,we don;t need more of those

You don’t like Gainswell? He interests me. Really want to see him in action. Feels like a lock to make the team to me also. We have to inject this team with youth. You gotta keep your draft picks and give them a chance to succeed. Sometimes that takes development. Any good or great team can only afford to keep but so many guys on the 53 that are developmental and not ready. We are in a position to where we should overload on these types. I mean....we all Want guys that are NFL ready. But this years team shouldn’t be overly concerned with that.

It's my belief all of the preservatives and other BS is the major contributing factor to so many people having lower GI problems. Preservatives keep the food from breaking down on the shelf. They also fight our bodies when trying to digest.

Terrible for you

Almost always at RB. Howard is only 26....but already looks potentially washed up.

Blocking helps from the skill guys but they need that ‘skill’ to make the defenders conflicted.

Huge plays usually don’t happen without that blocking downfield even.

Some really massive effects this pandemic has produced with the NFL. It pushed forward some new technologies. Which is good and bad. I believe they found some new ways to achieve some goals. Kind of desensitized players somewhat to using technology in more ways. Made it a more comfortable tool and way of going about business. But I have this fear that the product on the field is going to suffer as they will probably use this situation to even further limit hours spent on the field. Less time in an actual team room together. Less time at the actual facilities. So much loss of team building and chemistry.

OK, OK, OK

Kempski gives a nice rundown of cap and draft signings;

https://www.phillyvoice.com/eagles-rookie-draft-picks-salary-cap-numbers-and-what-team-will-need-sign-them-058882/

In there he gives a link to a cap site I'd never been to, which has us at 5.021 over;

https://nflpa.com/reports/public-salary-cap-report

I usually go to OTC which has us at 4.3 over:

https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/philadelphia-eagles/

Did like Jimmy's explanation tho

"[The Eagles] need somebody to even go against a No. 2 wide receiver let alone the No. 1 wideouts," Brooks surmised of his former team. "We have nobody at this point."   🤣 . GO cheap at the last minute on CB. Thats sadly always been the case. We better have a KA dominant pass rush or Hurts will be playing alot of catch up(at least we have a little offense now)

I'm not the fan I used to be. Don't even get upset anymore if I miss a game.

I'm like that with Manchester United. I used to be a huge fan, now I barely know when they are playing.

Used to go watch Ipswich Town when i lived there.
