And really the consistency and gel amongst the Oline was the worst part. The players were mostly ok. Herbig, Driscoll and Mailata worked. Just changing each week was the killer. Obviously not talking about Tank game with Toth and Pryor as T. That Oline was just terrible. They really messed Pryor up last season. He isn’t as bad as they made him look. He’s a RG. Can be a third string RT(emergency).  But they had him as a LT to start last season. Toth it’s hard to judge on so little. He looked way out of his league though. Peters....they already decided he was over the hill and they waited to long to release him. Bringing him back was such a terrible idea. Bring him in at RG but then have the whole awkward contract situation to move him to LT. All for a guy that played terrible. That vet that should be the example and glue for the younger guys on how to be a pro....only taught a bad lesson. That situation is a very underrated part of what happened last season. All the while undercutting Pedey. I believe him and Stout were forced to play him. That’s exactly why he had to be let go. Not just that his game and body was failing him. It was because of the clout and situation between him and the owner.

Better RBs who??? Lamar Miller has been on par with anyone we have had so has Johnson.

TEs yup he had Ertz. Watson only had Dhop, Fuller, Cooks. Wentz has had 1 player go over 1000 yards in his career Watson has had a 1000 yard guy every year in the league.

In 2017 the combo of Blount Ajayi and Sproles was lethal. Really punished defenders. But just effective runners....but made defenders pay for the tackle every time. Underrated part of what opened up other things. Those S and Cb weren’t moving at the same pace after having to tackle those guys once or twice. Clement did his job also. Not going overboard with him but....as the fourth option he got it done. Knew his blocking assignments and ran hard. Wasn’t a liability. Sanders is a better bigger playmaker than Lamar. He’s a legit weapon! Last season was rough on everybody. For some reason he seemed to screw up a bunch. Plus got injured. Even though the timing is difficult to pump him up....I do believe it. 2019 he was busting it from anywhere. With Howard looking good.

Sproles that was hurt what week 2-3???? Ajayi didn’t come until trade dead line.

Sanders hasn’t put remotely the season together as Miller has that is just facts.

So his 4K passing yards was ninth in 2019. I think we could argue he maybe should be ranked higher for that season in the overall QB conversation. But this is his up season out of five years. Being ninth in 2019 doesn’t offset being the worst in 2020. Not being good in 2018 and playing like a rookie in 2016. You can’t take 9th and worst and that equal top ten. I would say at Wentz best he can be top ten. He has top ten potential. But he isn’t a top ten QB. A top ten QB should go for at least three first round picks unless he’s at the end of his career. We got a conditional second rounder...next year....which equates to a third round pick. That’s a league wide perception thing.

Wentz already proved what his best was.    You seem to count all the bad, yet due to one game at the end of the 2017 where the planets aligned for Foles, you want to discount the absolute dominance that was Wentz in 2017.

Supporting casts in the NFL matter for a QB.   The stability of a supporting cast matters in the NFL.

Having subpar talent and a constant changing of the players is not the normal.  Not at the level the Eagles had in 2019 and 2020.

We can speak with better knowledge after seeing Wentz play outside of the garbage that was the Eagles organization the last 2 years.

SO why then is Watson a "top 5" QB but Wentz is not?????

Watson is a better QB there's no doubt. I didn't say top 5.

IDK seems to me Hopkins was > Alshon? Fuller was > JMatt?  I'll give you Ertz and it's not like Watson was lacking pass cacthing RB's either, so just trying to figure out why Watson is a "superstar/top 5", yet Wentz is MEH when the stat lines are about the same over a 4 year period. SO then the question is, would Watson have failed here as badly last year as Wentz did? Of course we'll never know, but if we don't know why would we want to bring him in when we could have kept Wentz? IDK just seems to me Howie let the team deteriorate after the SB. Bad draft picks, overriding the staff on game day, just led us into the abyss we are in now

I think give a QB protection and that's a huge thing. Watson has had terrible OL, Wentz had a great OL for most of his time here.

But Wentz hasn’t been. Watson has been better. You say Watson had better receivers. I say Wentz had a great Oline, better TEs and RBs.....and coaching.

Because you give Wentz the 2017 OL... act like he had that for 5 years.

The TEs are possession guys, none are the kind that you dump the ball off and benefit from the YAC.  Hopkins and Will Fuller stretch the defenses and do things on their own.

As for RBS,  that's a joke.   Again 2017 was good.  Having Josh Adam's be your #1 RB for 2018... then a very unreliable Miles Sanders .... on top of simply not being in a system that likes to run the ball at all.

Worst job in football the last 2 years was QB of the Eagles. Not even a close 2nd.

I really have no problem admitting what Wentz best was. I said he was on MVP path. But that was part of one season. Of coarse supporting cast matters. Your leader matters. I fell into the trap of thinking Wentz was that level player. But he really only did it then. Never materialized again. He isn’t the 2017 player and he isn’t the 2020.

What good does that do in week 1 this year after last years disaster?

Hmm could be a close run by the Jets/ Darnold lol

After 2017 how did we help Wentz succeed??? It was downhill after the SB win with a series of loser draft picks(for the most part) and add to that the S&C staff failure to keep guys on the field

Supposedly it's us and the Fins at the front of this line.

ATL first. Then Niners come to the Linc. You think we see Garrapolo?

Chiefs, Panthers and Bucs after the Cowboys.

Raiders and Lions away. Could be more winnable games but....tough going on the road after a difficult stretch. Maybe....maybe get some momentum here.

Week 14 Bye

The Football Team twice after.

The way too early win loss, have us ~7 wins - hey, it's an improvement!

7 win prediction, exactly what I had lol(6 winnable and 1 game of "on any sunday" we could get lucky)

Where are you guys seeing 7 wins?

I'm not seeing it.

Looking at the first 6 weeks is going to be rough.  2-3 during that stretch maybe(not counting Dallas game)

Let’s say we split in the East seems realistic. So 3-3(say we lose game 1 vs Dallas win game 2)

Then we got Raiders, Lions, Saints, Denver, Chargers and Jets.- Say 3-3 in this stretch.

8-9 final record

Yeah...seems pretty optimistic. Gotta start clicking on the road trip to Vegas to remotely think about winning that many. We really need next year’s draft. So we don’t even want to win but three or four this season.

Pretty much comes down to this section of the schedule for wins. Then the division games.

2 wins in the division maybe 3

Niners at home and the Jets away. Maybe the Saints at home

Other than that all the historically weak teams are away
