At 32, on a 1 year deal, is fine by me..If he rocks we can re-sign him while we get these young guys up to speed.Barnett hasn't lived up to the hype

Another odd thing is that we are spending money on pass rush instead of on a corner. I would have put CB and TE at much bigger needs than DE.

Nah ,it's fairly historical we rely on a dominant pass rush to take pressure off the secondary,so this is not surprising to me if you understand Howie, although I would like to see some decent CB's come in(like Sutton I posted above)

Nope. Don’t see it that way. I saw a bunch of guys that wanted it real bad. Refused to lose. Everybody thought they couldn’t possibly win the whole postseason. But all kinds of random guys bonded together and formed a unity that was greater than any individual.

This is my issue with guys like you.   The Eagles showed from game 1 they were the best team in the league.  Dominant performances.  Short week traveling to a physical Carolina team, putting up 50 vs a top Denver D, dominating the Rams after staying out on the west coast all week.

The defense had been dominant at home for 2 seasons under Schwartz.  Once they got home field,  they dominated both of those games, as they did the prior 16 home games.

The "luck" portion could be the Superbowl.  Starting with the fact that Jacksonville ( the better team) took their foot off the gas after dominating New England through 3 quarters.   Then the already poor NE defense that Bortles lit up, lost a starting CB with last minute BS.    Big V went against a 40 year old James Harrison who stole money one last year.  And Foles had the game of his life.

That's one game to write the " intangible movie" about.  The prior 18 was an absolute dominant performance by the clear best team in the league!   Built the right way over a long time,   but capped off the last two years going after the missing pieces.  Doing things differently,  building starters everywhere, then getting the depth.

2018... first move is drafting the backup TE, last pick was using 2 picks for a Rugby player.    3 years later,  could be last year for both guys in Philly.

Fits the Eagles MO build the trenches and Kerrigan seems to fit if we go to a hybrid type scheme should be able help Avery and took along while aiding in our pass rush. Had what 5.5 sacks in 40% snaps last year pretty solid production.

As for CB wouldn’t rush it in my eyes see what we have in the young guys then add or trade for a vet if need be. Eagles were extremely high on Zech as well even if fans weren’t as much.

And alot of luck along the way. The tipped kick in Chicago, the rare Brady strip sack, Foles call for the Philly Special(what if Ped didn't agree to do it?) Although what you say is true, alot of planets aligned for us

The kick in Chicago was the year later.

Yeah but how many rings do they have???? Ours was a FLUKE

At our age we'll take a fluke.

Not sure if I like the move or not but we signed Ryan Kerrigan

Depends on the terms of the contract.

Kerrigan, vetern leadership who always has had a non stop motor.

Reminds me of Long.

Because they do things consistently.. the owner got his guy and let him do his thing.

We try to reinvent the wheel.  Except for the time we actually did win, we did a lot of similar things thar New England does.   We win , then we go back to the old ways.

You want a comparison.  Just look at LBS.   Hicks and Kendricks, two early picks.  Bradham, a high paid FA.    Look at the LB group prior and since.    Coincidence?  Intangibles?  Luck?   Or is it easy to see a difference in talent and level of play?

Kerrigan.... great move for a team on the cusp of winning it all.

So why then did he come here?

Ummmm Kendricks was a high pick... Hicks was a 3rd that worked unlike Taylor who we also drafted in the 3rd....Bradham was cheap FA signing that knew Schwartz we paid him later though.

I do get that we had some good LBs but not really all that different from what we always have done with Lb we just had some guys actually work with our method

Heard he wants to start and he would seem poised to do so if we are adding that rush LB spot which seems likely

Get a CB and this team may surprise us

Good Afternoon All,

Back from NC and was lucky to get enough gas to do so!  Looking at the Schedule, it appears we may get 1 win in the first 6 games if we are lucky. Atlanta is week 1. New coaching staff so not sure if that is a good thing or not week 1....

   After that maybe Carolina?

Anyway, I am not going to be looking for play offs so will just be looking for improvement from week 1 to week 17....

There was a gas shortage?

Went to the local craft brewery over the weekend.

One of the bartenders is a big Eagles fan and went a bit crazy  when she saw my hat

You are funny!  70% gas stations without gas Friday. I was fortunate to find one with enough to fill up my tank. People over reacted when they found out about the pipeline and topped off their tanks whether they needed to or not... Created a issue for us vacationers.....

My wife was actually hoping we couldn't find any lol. She was ready to pay for another week!

Not gonna get better sitting on the sidelines Joe. If doing this improved the group/team,then why the sarcasm? Isn't that the annual goal? Perhaps his years of experience will help the young guys learn?

Yeah we are still out in Dunn(land of the lost)
