Indeed, according to the records, multiple Fox News hosts knew the President needed to act immediately. They texted Meadows that:

-"Hey Mark, the president needs to tell people in the Capitol to go home...this is hurting all of us...he is destroying his legacy." Laura Ingraham wrote.

-"Please get him on tv. Destroying everything you have accomplished." Brian Kilmeade wrote.

-"Can he make a statement?...Ask people to leave the Capitol." Sean Hannity urged.

As the violence continued, one of the President's sons texted Meadows:

"He's got to condemn this s*** Asap. The Capitol Police tweet is not enough." Donald Trump, Jr. texted.

Meadows responded: "I'm pushing it hard. I agree."

Still, President Trump did not immediately act.

Donald Trump, Jr. texted again and again, urging action by the President:

The penultimate moment of the Trump administration: President Trump does nothing, stays silent, as the Capitol is ransacked by his supporters. Even as allies plead for him to do something, it falls on deaf ears. Trump in a nutshell, he will not stand up and speak to country when it is needed. He's a useless leader. Followed by Trump's second impeachment, where being convicted of inciting insurrection falls 10 Senate votes short. Another defining moment for Trump; If he can get away with it, it only emboldens him.

It would be interesting if someone read through the texts and then looked at what Fox News hosts were saying that night.

Some good did come out of it - thanks to the heroic actions of Kyle Rittenhouse two scumbag criminals are off the streets for good and a third is now too limp armed to beat up his grandma anymore
