You first say you haven't watched the hearings and in the same breath you call them political theater without substantive evidence. I'm sure it makes perfect sense in your head but it comes across as completely illogical to anyone else. I don't need to watch the hearings to see the outcome. Did you watch the Bengazi hearings? If they come up with something meaningful that will change peoples minds then great. But I suspect they won't....which is why I label them all political theater.

Not live but I saw clips, and I tended to believe the operators on the ground over the state department. So no, I'm not done partisan hack that simply believes one side is always innocent and that any hearings held by the opposition is just for political theater. And they already have come up with plenty that's "meaningful" in these hearings but you've got your fingers in your ears and eyes shut so you'll never know or care.

I've carefully selected multiple news sources that don't pollute my feed with a bunch of opinion and nonsense. Just because I'm not watching re-runs of the January 6th commission (or paying much attention to it at all) means nothing about my consumption of news. Not sure why you make that distinction. Fox news, OAN, and Newsmax for the win!

I'm just not sitting around every day with popcorn waiting for the hearings to start on TV like the rest of you...nor is much of America from what I can tell. Like most of these hearings, I suspect they will come and go without changing anyone's mind on the subject. The MAGA crowd will still see this as justified action due to election fraud and the left will still see this as an orchestrated insurrection. Therefore....political theater.

July 6, 20223 yr Trump White House counsel Cipollone to testify to 1/6 panel https://news.yahoo.com/ap-source-cipollone-agrees-testify-150152241.html WASHINGTON (AP) — Pat Cipollone, Donald Trump’s former White House counsel, is scheduled to testify Friday before the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, according to a person briefed on the matter. Cipollone, whose reported resistance to Trump’s schemes to overturn his 2020 election defeat has made him a long-sought and potentially revelatory witness, was subpoenaed by the select committee last week after weeks of public pressure to provide testimony to the panel. The person briefed on the matter, who spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity to discuss private negotiations, said Cipollone agreed to appear before the committee for a private, transcribed interview. Cipollone is said to have stridently and repeatedly warned the former president and his allies against their efforts to challenge the election, threatening to resign as Trump eyed a dramatic reshuffling atop the Justice Department. One witness said Cipollone referred to a proposed letter making false claims about voter fraud as a "murder-suicide pact.” Another witness said Cipollone had warned her that Trump was at risk of committing "every crime imaginable.”

The point of the Committee is to go on historical record and to recommend charges to the DOJ. That's it. If a few people in the middle's eyes are opened by it, then cool but it's really irrelevant to the work of the Committee. Absolutely no one cares if hard core Trump supporting cult members are convinced by it. Literally no one's dumb enough to think that a bunch of fascists care about a coup attempt.

And I'm assuming you mean charges, not changes. I would guess, at minimum Guiliani and Meadows. If anyone was begging Trump for a pardon, it wasn't for the hell of it. They knew they were screwed. As for Trump? We'll see. The Fulton Co DA has Trump dead to rights, so we'll see if charges come from down here of if they come from flipping one of his corrupt lackeys federally. Either way, that's the point of the Committee. Find out who was apart of the illegal plot to appoint Trump as dictator so that they can be held accountable and deter it from ever happening again, so that we, you know, preserve our republic. It's absolutely amazing to me that anyone doesn't understand all this at this point.

Tell us in more detail and the exact sequence of events, yes. At a high-level, of course he was behind it, he literally planned a rally on the same day of the certification for the explicit purpose of stopping it. He then demanded to be driven to the Capitol after knowing many of his supporters were armed (these were new details). More details have also yet to emerge on why it took so long to provide assistance to the Capitol Police to clear the area. More details have yet to emerge on what transpired behind the scenes leading up to the rally itself. So yes at a high-level we know what happened, but we don't know all the low-level nitty gritty details yet. You naturally don't care because you're a trumbpot who wants to forget that day ever happened, but the rest of us who care about democracy itself, want to make sure it's fully documented so that abject failures like Trump will forever be tainted as the traitorous scumbag he is.
