To this point Pence is a number two much like Kamala. They can sure up a portion of the base by mere existence. That's not to say that Pence is as vapid as Kamala only that their pull is limited.

I'm not uninterested in what he has to say. But pretty much anything he says needs some sort of material support for me to buy it.

That would include him wholly selling out Trump. There's too much motive for this dude to sell out for a plea.

If he sells out Trump and has some correspondence that supports his case? Well, I wouldn't be shocked. But the schadenfreude high would last quite a while.

I never said I didn't care.  I said I didn't follow this hearing because it is political theater and I suspect very little will come out of it.  This is not a court of law, it is a political sideshow.  If and when the DOJ starts prosecuting people I've heard of, I'll pay attention....and so will the rest of America.

The best thing for the Republican party would be to have Trump taken out of the mix for them by this committee.  That being said, I suspect that these hearings will accomplish very little.  They rarely do.
