July 22, 20223 yr "The election is over." "I don't want to say the election is over, ok" My only goal was to insure the integrity of the vote? You can't be serious.

But Trump voters live in an alternate reality and have no bottom when it comes to Trump's behavior. They'd be apoplectic if a Democratic president did a tenth of what Trump's proven to have done, but with Trump they just don't care about his behavior - they're numb to it. Their rationalizations are endless.

The only way tp formally disqualify him was through the impeachment, if they added that he could never hold office again (separate vote in the Senate). I guess someone could go to court saying he is disqualified under the 14th amendment for "engaging in insurrection or rebellion" (same thing they tried with MTG, among others), but doubt that works. Even being in jail wouldn't technically disqualify him. You'd hope the GOP would refuse to nominate him, but...
July 22, 20223 yr There really hasn’t been a shift in conservative talk radio at all. It’s still "Trump good, Biden bad.” I don’t hear any other Republicans discussed.

Their rationalizations are endless. Just a point of clarification you might want to consider, or maybe you will just brush it off, up to you. Many in here conflate people who supported Trump based on his policies/(vs the opposition), with Those who bliindly follow Trump. (There are the blind followers to be sure, just not sure what % they are, if I had to guess, it's a minority number) Discounting the former or mistaking the former for the latter overlooks that for those in the former category, Trump is not the goal, Trump can go away, and they still want to VOTE for the same type of nationalist/populist policies. And the mistake being made, is that you can remove Trump, but it becomes the next man up. So when you say Trump Voters, to be sure there are a % who will support him to no end, but dont overlook the % that just wants someone to represent them instead of the elites. Something Trump ran on effectively. My perspective is those former are a larger % over the blind Trump supporters. Now go ahead and call me a Trumpbot or Trumplican. Carry on.

But I tend to agree that it sounds like the Department of Justice isn’t going to act. And he’s not going to be disqualified by Congress.

No, but everyone else also didn't: (i) start the whole drama by being the 1st Senator to agree to challenge results (leading to others like Cruz joining in) in a desperate attempt to raise his national profile and please his orange overlord; and (ii) encourage the mob by throwing up a closed fist salute
