July 25, 20223 yr Thank god we got to the bottom of that Josh Hawley investigation. Our democracy is so much safer and it totally wasnt/isnt a political circus at all. I feel better now.

July 25, 20223 yr In the speech he crossed out "You do not represent me, you do not represent our movement." Yeah no ish, because they literally did represent him and his "movement", and he couldn't possibly bring himself to lie about the one thing he actually should've lied about.

They got the excuse they needed to claim her testimony was unreliable and now Trump apologists have their narrative baked in. The only truth available to them is the one that allows them to ignore painful reality and shift blame.

Unfortunately narratives are far generally far more important today than facts in US politics (not just US). It sucks, but that's just the way it is at this point. Hopefully, things will change.

If you were actively supporting a President appointing himself as a dictator and tearing up the Constitution, you're probably not too worried about whether or not he lunged at a SS agent. The Committee hearings as a whole have been generally beneficial (even beyond just the charges they'll hopefully recommend to the DOJ) in so much as they've helped bake in what a traitor Trump is to the ever-shrinking middle, and, on top of that, they seem to have really put a scare into the right. The needle's moved a bit for Republicans about how confident they are that Trump can win again (hilariously, they don't actually care that he's a traitor who wants to shred the Constitution, they just care that he might lose the next election). But, of course, the problem for them is that they're screwed either way. The damage is already done. He owns the party now and it really doesn't matter who they want to carry their water in '24, he's going to get the nod and they won't even have a say in it.

What I'm concerned with now is that it is July '22 and the election is over two years away. A lot is going to happen between now and then and the momentum from the hearings is very likely going to be hard if not impossible to maintain. It is going to be very very interesting to see how far the DOJ decides to go with this one.
July 25, 20223 yr 'Member when your "Hutchinson Was Debunked!" narrative blew up in your face after getting hung out to dry by your fellow cultists yet again? Pepperidge Farm does. Cope and seethe, losers. Cope and seethe.

Pepperidge Farm does. Cope and seethe, losers. Cope and seethe. That was great. All storming in to to debunk this like any of it was so far out of character for Trump Quote You guys seriously. Yeah yeah he wanted to nuke hurricanes, inject people with bleach, said term limits don't apply to him, and that he wanted Georgia to manufacture over 11,000 fake votes for him to try to steal an election... But there's just no way he would have thrown ketchup at the wall or tried to fight a secret service guy for the steering wheel in a fit of rage!
