January 7, 20223 yr Cheney’s a war criminal but at least he believes in Democracy. It’s an incredibly low bar but that’s what happens when one of the major parties is taken over by America-hating fascists.

He went from public service for decades to the private sector for a decade or so, then back as VEEP. Little doubt he maximized his connections. Wasn't really a dig. I accept that bit of glad-handing as inevitable. There's a line that can be crossed but I don't think he did more than flirt with it.

I would've preferred we didn't go into Iraq at the time but I wasn't very adamant about it.

Of course the same people that told us to STFU are now pretending they were against the Iraq war from the get-go.

It made you anti-military, anti-American, and a terrorist. Quote "Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists." George W. Bush

A history professor was telling me they had a Iraq War protest on his college campus back in 2002 or 2003 and some guy came up and ripped a girl's anti-war sign out of her hands and threw it on the ground.
January 8, 20223 yr I supported the decision to invade Iraq. I believed the WMD intel and also the notion that it would serve as a honeypot to draw out insurgents from the region and expose them to be destroyed. I was also a young, naive dumb ass and eventually realized that the risk/rewards hardly justified the costs.

It made you anti-military, anti-American, and a terrorist. maybe I worked in a relatively anti-war place at the time, but people generally were pretty skeptical around me. I was early in my career and more focused on that, but the older types (who definitely skewed left) around me were either against it or skeptical. not against it in the "I'm going to protest" kind of sense, but more in the "this doesn't seem justified, but I still support our troops" sense. I think there's been quite an overcorrection since the anti-military sentiment Vietnam vets faced.
January 8, 20223 yr Even if you think Cheney is scum (he is, sold out, corporate, fleece the government scum) you can still appreciate that he isn't a deluded Trump cultist. It is nice to know there are still GOP members who are able to see reality and describe it.
January 8, 20223 yr Yeah, I pretty much hated Bush, Cheney, and Rove, but at least they seemed to understand that whoever got the most votes won the election.
January 8, 20223 yr "Everyone here is so partisan!!!" "How can you agree with Dick Cheney on one, single issue!!!"

January 8, 20223 yr Republicans loved law enforcement in the summer of 2020. Blue lives matter……On Jan 6 or after every school shooting they are hacks who should have done more.

It took you a while to realize how much they are undermining America. Imagine, the Speaker of the House suggesting that insider trading is ok for Congressional leaders.

If you don’t remember her, she was part of the 1983 US Senate bombing among other violent acts. She was an avid communist and actual terrorist who the Democratic Party revered.

January 8, 20223 yr When Hillary lost Dems put on pink V hats and marched around DC. When Trump lost Republicans put on body armor and attacked the Capitol. We’re supposed to think the folks with the V hats are the triggered ones though
