All that being said, I have not paid much attention to this January 6th commission because I am not interested in the political theater that surrounds these types of hearings.  Nor do I see that they have found much substantive evidence that is going to change anyone's mind about what happened, much less convict him.  I suspect that in the end, Trump will live on to run again (which I do not want) and Democrats will be even more furious at him.  However, if they do find convictable evidence then I hope he goes away for a long time.  

I don't think Trump can win again and most conservatives I speak with agree that they would never vote for him again.  I am very concerned that if he does run and lose in the primary he will go to war with the party.  Even worse would be if he wins the primary and then loses again to Biden.  Republicans (short of the MAGA crowd) are in a very bad spot with him as you know.   

That is my abridged opinion on this topic and I suspect the large majority of legacy conservatives feel the same way based upon those I talk to.

There's been virtually no political theatre. They've let Cheney and Kinzinger take the lead for the most part, and every witness I can recall them having were Republicans and in many cases Trump supporters who worked at the White House. 

This isn't like the Benghazi nonsense, which was total political theatre. They are revealing a lot about what was going on leading up to Jan 6, and how Trump responded (or didn't respond) to what was going on. And they're doing it in a controlled way.

I hope you are right, but I don't believe you are unfortunately. I'm not even convinced there will be primaries, as Trump people control the state parties (who control the primaries). Pretty much any other Republican would cruise to victory in 2024, but Trump could very easily lose to Biden.

Both incidents were used as political dog and pony shows.  But Benghazi hearings were absolutely justified.  4 Americans were killed by a wild mob, including our Ambassador who was dragged through the streets like an animal.

I'm not about to debate Benghazi vs. January 6th...but to suggest that these types of hearings are anything but political theater is ridiculous.  You and most of the others in here made their mind up about this topic on January 7th.  Just because this hearing validates your opinions does not make it objective.

Just because I think MAGA is a bunch of loons doesn't mean I don't spend hours each week listening to conservative talk radio down here in Texas. The worst mistake you can make is to willingly choose to not listen to opposing viewpoints.

Actually, I would wager most of the people here made the decision on the 6th, watching what happened live.

I fail to comprehend people who watched what happened and consider it no big deal.  The Capitol was breached in order to try and stop the election results from being certified.

If you are okay with that, or don't find it worthy of investigation, then there is something seriously wrong with you.
