Texas style. There will also be a full array of condiments like cheese, onions, jalapeno and crema.

And fritos. Gotta have fritos.

Yup.  That's how I prefer to make my Chili.  Chili is short for Chili Con Carne = Chili with meat.  Beans are a replacement for meat not a compliment (that's how it's supposed to work).  When I do mine I just use extra peppers and tomatoes to go with a generous amount of meat.

My 2-year-old has thrown up twice tonight, and she hasn’t even seen our linebackers play yet.

And if he ever amounts to anything, he'll be one of the first QB's in NFL history who had a "first in NFL history to average X rushing yards per game combined with Y passing yards per game" stat to amount to much as a passer.

I do both, depends on how I want to eat it. Today will be more of a frito pie / chili dogs with leftovers. I’ll do beans if I’m in the mood for a thick, hearty bowl or want leftovers for nachos.

You’re telling me…

Jay Glazer said teams are calling about Ertz and Goedert and he said he wouldn't be surprised if one of them is traded

Glazer just said several teams called the Eagles about both Ertz and Goedert and wouldn’t be surprised to see one of them traded in the next week.

I don't see any of the talking heads going for the Eagles.  They aren't masochists but they are slippery people; Howie would may go with the Birds if his son was on the team.

I see what you’re getting at here:

If Sirianni really wants to pander to this fan base he’ll put Togiai out there for one snap on 4th and goal and throw a fade to him

Beg to disagree. Chili is not short for anything. North of the border beans are out. South of it they’re in. Rick Bayless, whom I much admire as a chef, uses beans. But then, his cuisine Mexican, not Tex/Mex.

I guess I’m being pedantic. I like my chili with both meat and beans.

And fritos, and cornbread.

I'm feeling kinda optimistic tonight but I have no idea why. There's no rational reason to be. Is what it is.

Goedert is the right man to move.

I guess he means the game in pouring rain was under 20 so that should be comparable to a game in clear conditions with no wind and mid 60's

Not only that the other game was rams who might be the best team in the nfc.

How can you have chili without beans? What you’re making sounds yummy but it’s more a goulash.

A lot of chili is made without beans.  I do both ways but more meaty chili, no beans. I am trying to figure out how he makes chili without cayenne, paprika and cumin.  Didn’t see any onion either. I like to throw some chipotle in with mine.  That and smoked paprika give it a deep flavor with a hint of smoke.  Never used beef broth in mine but that sound interesting.  Like mine thick so always finish with a masa slurry mix.

I have very, very, high hopes for Smith

That's 1.  This franchise has drafted 1 Pro Bowl WR since Mike Quick... and that one wasn't drafted by Howie.

He has onion as a condiment. With the dried chilis I can see how he gets away with no cayenne. I use berbere instead of cayenne myself. I’m meh about paprika, it’s more color than taste to me plus my wife doesn’t like smokey. Totally with you about cumin.

Dillard is playing well, but he is not in our long term plans.  The team has already committed to Jordan and Lane long term.  Why not trade Dillard and get some picks?

Obviously this is contingent on Lane coming back this season.

He's not in your long term plans.  The team has kicked the can on Lane, but they haven't committed to him long term.  And if they have... long term committment to an OT that is oft-injured, and over 30... then Howie is dumber than I tell people he is.

Why trade a 26 year old LT and put all your chips in on a guy that can't be counted on for a full season, and frankly, wasn't playing that well when he was on the field this year?   Add to that that we have no idea what is going on with his personal issue... and you have a lot of reasons not to trade Dillard.

Frito pie.  Bout as East Texas as you can get.

What meat do you use?  I ask for chili meat ground around here and they just stare at me and point me to ground beef.  My father in law made flavorful venison chili but I would bring it home and add more cayenne to it.

Don’t know a lot of Texans that use crema in theirs. Assume real crema and not sour cream. Now hard core traditionalist competitors in Texas with shame you for offering cheese but cheese allows me to go hot by cutting the heat a bit.
