Of course he’s been bad, but he definitely isn’t being put in the best position to succeed. These things aren’t mutually exclusive.

For some reason everyone these days has to pick one side of an argument or the other and never consider nuance. Hurts has been bad, and Siriani has been as well. Both can be true.

Accountability on display. Just like when he blamed the defender last week on Wards OPI

He was absolutely right about that OPI call. Ward didn’t hit the defender, the defender pushed and then hit Ward.

Conspiracy time. Sirianni wants nothing to do with Hurts being his QB so is calling plays, all passes at that, which he knows Hurts can’t complete. Ultimate sabotage.

It's hard to evaluate Sirianni with how bad Hurts has been. Nick might not be it, but I'm definitely not sure of that. I am sure Hurts is not it.

What does this even mean

It means that Jalen abandoned the play, danced around and then improvised.  He is reading and reacting way to slow.  Always been my knock on him and he still is what I thought he was in the draft.

This is where I'm at.

Hurts has to show something in the passing game on a night like tonight when you know we're not going to be able to run the ball.  He was playing scared for the first half of the game, just like Dallas

It's not the goal of the Philadelphia Eagles to develop Hurts, we cant have 8-9 guys playing to their weaknesses just so Hurts can not embarrass himself.   The OL never knows where the hell he's going to be, WRs sure as hell never know where the ball is going to be thrown,  and we're not getting enough people involved in the offense because he keeps taking off too soon.

This feels like running down a cul de sac right now and I just want the organization to pull a U turn.  I agree with some of the others that have said with even an average QB we're probably in the mix for a wildcard spot.

LMAO, this team is devoid of talent in general and the guys running the offense and defense are in way over their head.

Weren't the Bucs playing two backup CBs tonight?

I thought maybe Hurts is limiting Nick but if that's the case then why not just run the ball. Your QB is playing like crap and you just let it happen

Sherman left in the 1st I think so pretty much

Yes and lost Sherman on the first drive

We finally, FINALLY after all these years have WRs who can get open. And now we have a QB who can't throw to wide open receivers.

The biggest void is at starting QB

Sirianni said he kicked the FG on 4th and 10 because it was 4th and 10. Either he doesn’t trust Hurts at all or he’s a coward

I was watching the Scouts feed audio instead of Troy and Buck. They kept saying how predictable Hurts is at just rolling to his right even when the pocket is good. They kept saying he bails too much

His pocket awareness is almost nil.  He starts dancing around when he doesn't have to do so.  Even when he's given good protection to take the time to go through the reads he starts to hop around like he's standing on a giant hot plate.  I think it's part of his DNA to want to take off and run after 3.25 seconds (think he's been timed on average at getting the ball out in 3.10 something seconds).

I mean, why draft a QB like Hurts and not do it? That’s not Hurts’ fault. They’re asking him to be something he’s not.

a QB?

After 3 seconds he should be looking to run, Brady gets rid of the ball in about 2.5 seconds.

And that was one shaky pocket tonight.

Sirianni is not doing a very good job with his game planning. It is obvious and he needs to get better and adjust to helping his QB and offense succeed so they aren’t always in double digit jokes against good teams. However that doesn’t take away that we are seeing the same consistent problems with hurts for the majority of the season and he really hasn’t improved upon them each week.

Huh? Asking the OL to run block more or to incorporate more designed QB runs would somehow equate to that? You’re nuts.

Hurts stunk tonight, and the Eagles were absolutely right to pass a ton against that secondary. But over the course of the season, we haven’t put Hurts in a position to develop. Instead were asking him to be something he’s not.

That’s on Howie and Co.

It’s hilarious to me that we’re even having this discussion. I always defended a pass heavy attack with Wentz and people whined incessantly about the pass-run ratio. Now that we have a raw, developmental QB, people are all like "Gotta develop the QB.”

We finally have a good 1 and 2 WR but we can't get them the ball.

Why don''t they run? Go back and look at the run plays, every run on an obvious run down was stuffed. The big runs came when TB was expecting pass.

Now should Siri run more on passing downs? Yes.

But until this OL jells, he's not going to run on a good run defense.

Or when Vea was out.

Even when he has a clean pocket (and for sometimes more than 3 seconds) he still does the same ish.  The top 1/2 starting QBs, and probably the top 2/3, would just slide a step left/right or step up a bit to buy an extra second to make a throw.  And yes, most GOOD QBs get the ball out faster than Hurts does, which is also part of his issues, is not being able to make good quick reads/decisions, thus the slower release time for him.
