I bet you Lurie has not been happy with any game this year, including the Falcons game. He wants a downfield passing game, not a dink and dunk attack.

The irony is, the FO and Coaches had to know the player they were picking when they picked him - they assumed Hurts was Wilson 2.0, so had to know that it was going to be a dink and dunk O based on the college tape.  Broken process FTW. Aikman was very subtly criticising Hurts most of the game - he needs to stay in the pocket and stop overthinking everything.  Hurts is afraid of making mistakes.

One thing with the O in the past 2 games is how it stalls to hell for the first half, looks awful and kind of catches fire in the 3rd and 4th quarter.  The lack of running is an issue only because the opposition know what will happen if they don't even bother. Vea is a massive load, but it's not perhaps hard to do things to around him.  It's not an excuse for just not bothering when you have a very good RB in Sanders.

I did have a s**** at the Brady calls the Bucs were getting.  That taunting on Avery was one of the weakest examples but the Epps Int was not a clear overturn.  The TV showed Brady, Barnett and Jensen getting into some talking/taunting and it barely raised the Zebras heart beat.

Its 6 games into his career man, come on

His offense looks a complete mess with adjustments at all. His players lack any kind of discipline.

More designed QB runs is catering to your QB’s skill set, which every play caller should do. We’re asking him to win in ways he obviously can’t. We all knows when he was drafted that his running ability was his best asset.

Yes, Yes we did.  And that wasn't a good thing.

Patrick Johnson and Milton Williams were making solid contributions and now have seen their snaps cut.  Johnson has given way to Genard Avery, who dare I say, is the Eagles best LB right now so that makes sense.

Williams playing less than Kerrigan makes no sense however.

I've seen more than enough of Singleton and WIlson.

Maddox was all over the place last night and someone mentioned how good Slay played which I didn't notice but that's because he locked down Mike Evans.  I also think Marcus Epps is a player.  Might not ever be a starting safety but he's great in that 3rd safety/spot starter role.

The bottom line is a franchise that wants to be a pass heavy QB factory drafted a running QB in round 2. This is an Eagles problem, not a Hurts problem. They’re trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

What's frustrating about the offense is that those first 15 plays are or at least should be scripted.  That's what you practice and really scheme as this is how we're going to attack the other team.  Granted, Hurts isn't making the throws, bails out of the pocket and overall isn't executing the plays he's given but goodness Sirianni is looking unprepared for games.

But help your QB. He's struggling, he's not playing well, he's not seeing the field. Give him a consistent run game. Not RPOs that he's keeping every time. A simple hand the ball off play. They don't have that. And when they do mix in the run suddenly Hurts looks better. Not good but better.

It shows how awful the process to draft Hurts was and why there was a bit of sloped shoulder thing going on with the pick.

This made me laugh

He isn't "afraid of making mistakes" he panics and makes them like crazy.  Stupid, stupid, stupid pick. Howie should be freaking castrated for this.

How can you make that conclusion when you acknowledge that Hurts isn't executing the plays Sirianni is calling?

First drive:

 - Hurts misses an open Smith on a corner route
 - Hurts bails on a clean pocket on third down and runs (the Baldinger video we've seen)
 - Hurts underthrows Reagor on a deep out to the left
 - Hurts leaves the pocket again and gets lucky on a third down pass to Watkins
 - Hurts underthrows Reagor on the go route and gets lucky on DPI

Where in that sequence was Sirianni unprepared?

There are times you can see him staring it down and bail on it.  Or have a route opening up and not go there.  But there are times where Hurts is playing in game mode that he kind of does it without thinking.

Which is about every snap

I thought we looked more unprepared against Carolina. Last night was almost all on Hurts.

My concern with Sirianni last night was kicking the FG in the fourth quarter  Mind boggling.

Meh, I wasn't worried 1 bit about that field goal honestly. We still had a decent chance to actually win the game

not arguing that one bit.  I don't understand one bit.

Heck, even Gainwell only had 1 touch last night.

I literally have no idea what this team is doing.

It was a bad choice live and a bad choice in hindsight. The field goal would have kept it a two score game. We didn’t get two more possessions.

The lack of run plays.  If they are scripted, they aren't even thinking about running the ball right?  They are going in to the game knowing that they are going to be pass happy again with a QB who can't pass.

Shouldn't Sirianni be like oh damn, I should help my QB with my solid RB duo?

I don't think you can even properly evaluate Sirianni with the way the QB is playing. I see wide open receivers all over the place, Smith is constantly open. Deep passes are there. Hurts bails on the pocket way too early and way too often. It doesn't allow him to see these deep plays developing, he's dropping back 10+ yards behind the los and scrambling around.

I really wanted Hurts to succeed. I liked all the stories coming out about him, how he was always practicing with the WR in the off season, seemed like he would be a good leader, etc. But he is clearly not ready to be a starter in this league.

I'm ready to see Minshew or even Flacco to get a better idea of how this offense is supposed to look. With Hurts back there, I don't think we can really see how the offense is supposed to look.

I love the overreactions after a lose.

TB is the best team in the NFL right now, we played them on a short week. We still managed to hang in there.

Hurts looks lost a bit, but he never gives up, mental toughness does matter.

This season is about player evaluation, and frankly until you have a credible alternative (not Minshew), I'd stick with Hurts - guess who the three worst starting QBs are right now?

Lawrence, Wilson and Fields. Mac Jones is the best looking of the rookie QBs, but still well out of the top 20.

Which is why I'd never trade up for a young QB, the risk is so high you're better off being patient and wasting one top pick instead of 2 or 3.

And we hired you, it would have still been 6 games into your career.  That doesn’t make it a good hired.

Understood, but to write him off is incredibly premature.  He was handed a deficient roster and a deficient QB, unlike some other young/first time HCs he doesnt even have any elder statesmen to help his learning curve, so se OJT should be expected

But clearly, his scheme works. He just needs to get a better feel for the nuances that can only be gained through experience.  And by everything Ive seen, the players are engaged and playing hard, Im not getting any Chip Kelly vibes from Nick at all.

Lurie not hiring Duce

Someone being anti-vax

I guess it's my fault for keeping giving it another shot.

I try to tune him out because I enjoy Sheil and Zach is ok

That's fine.  And the "new" thinking about aggressiveness is something that he should get more comfortable with.  He isn't limited there.

He seems to be getting better as a game manager.  The jury is still out on him as the play caller, given the sabotage being done by his QB.
