A bunch of us in the EMB mock draft group liked Gowan coming out.  The trade, I like getting him, and there is cap benefit to it.

I suggested last night they run the Navy offense.  This way Hurts never has to throw.

Even before Williams got hurt there’s been rumors out in Arizona for months they were interested in ertz. I’m guessing the eagles asked him where he preferred to go cause i believe Julie is originally from Arizona.

Not sure.  Ertz is on an expiring contract so the decision was pretty easy -- and frankly should have been done before the season.  Trying to trade any other veterans comes with a ton of dead money associated.  

Sanders could get moved but I don't think there's much market for an under-used, often dinged RB.  Barnett could and hopefully will get moved, but I doubt he brings back any better than a 5th-round pick himself.

Or, they are the '85 Bears, the '91 Washingteam, or even the 2017 Eagles.   Some teams just catch some kismet and it's 'their year'.   This could be their year.  And since they are 5-0, and they went to LA and beat the team that beat the Bucs... I'll put the AZ at the top of the rankings right now.  In 5 weeks that may change, and the NFL playoffs many times are more about which team gets hot at the right time more than which team is better throughout the season, which explains WC teams that win it all... but right now, the Cardinals, and not the Bucs are the best team.  The Bucs are actually a pretty beat up team right now.  That secondary is far from anything anyone could consider best in the league.  They won that game because they played against a QB that couldn't take advantage of it.  And in 10 days, they might get healthier and be back on top.  But the team the Eagles lined up against was not 'the best team in the NFL' last night.

Let’s hope this isn’t Howie’s solution to getting younger at CB. I can see Stingley being available when they pick and Howie says it’s a deep CB draft and we have McPhearson, Gowan and Scott who we’ve invested in.
