It's better than another old player IMO

Most definitely, but it means that they got less return than they wanted, in order to get salary cap relief on Ertz' contract.

unless the eagles trade for a top QB this off-season, you are looking at 3-4 years until they become competitive. hurts isn't the answer, this upcoming qb draft class sucks, if they draft a qb in 2023 they might be competitive but probably not until their 2nd or 3rd year.

Who’s next?

I would’ve say brooks and slay but i doubt either get dealt especially with brooks being hurt. I wouldn’t be surprised if the eagles attempted to move Nelson if they got something decent for him.

Both are FA after this year doubt we get anything at all for them. Why trade Nelson with how much we’re paying him?

We can easily get draft picks for each. Both play positions that are almost impossible to find off the street and that teams don't want to trade away. Neither is on the team in 2022. Easy decisions.

Likely just Ertz.  But, if teams come knocking, Howie will listen.   BUT, it shouldn't be Howie.   He should have been kicked to the curb months and months ago.

Wonder if Ertz was told before the game last night. Seems like he knew afterwards at least.

I would hope we fire sale

Barnett, Lane J, Miles Sanders, Hurts, JJAW, Alex Singleton, Brooks

Even Cox is avail for the right price.

LOL facebook PC of Howie is nothing but "fire Howie"

I would rather keep Nelson than get a 7th

No one thought we would be contenders going into 2017. Teams can turn it around much quicker than that.

Lane and Brooks are on the "do not want" list for most teams right now.  A player dealing with a personal issue and another one that's constantly (and currently) injured aren't high on other teams' priority list.

I liked Gowan in the draft as a late round pick. Not a bad haul for a guy we were going to lose after the year anyway.

Lol Howie throwing out "We got a 5th round pick and we've had some pretty good success in the 5th round"

He's feeling the heat.

I’m glad Zach was able to get a TD in his final home game. He deserved that. Had to happen eventually, but this still sucks.

you have two main paths you can take. keep sending hurts out there and never really know if sirianni is the issue with the offense or you put minshew or flacco out there and see if the offense improves, implying hurts is the issue.

If both options still suck, clean house and get rid of howie.

Could have gotten a 2nd for EMO Ertz.  Oh well.

See a 5th that is almost a 6th is better.

Folks who are looking for Lane Johnson, Fletcher Cox and other high priced guys to be traded need to look at the salary cap implications of those moves.  Howie's kicking of the can would accelerate all that prorated bonus money to the 2022 salary cap.

Cox: $40.7M
Johnson: $28M
Brooks: $15.5M

Of those, only Brooks would end up being a net savings for 2022.  ($3.7M 'saved')
Johnson would end up costing an extra $12M+ in 2022.
Trading Cox would end up costing an extra almost $26M!

Thanks Howie!

I choose the latter at this point. Let's see Minshew. I'm sick of watching Hurts bail on the pocket when there isn't much pressure.

Yeah, but the spin within their own heads is that fans are upset that they traded Ertz... not that he's the architect of this crap fest roster.

Cool.  Shall we discuss his 2nd round picks now?

Yeah it’s why i didn’t even mention Cox or lane. They are both here through 2022. I do think if brooks was actually healthy he’d be a candidate but being injured i don’t see it. I do think Nelson could be had at the right price. I would say slay but i don’t remember with his restructuring if it makes it impossible. But i could see a team like tampa or GB with Alexander hurt wanting to acquire hIm

Thanks for LII, Zach.

The only other real trade piece is Nelson. Brooks and Slay would save space, but Brooks is hurt and Slay is worth keeping.
