This offense has to look better against the Lions, right?  It just can't look like this against that team, can it?

Copnsidering that the Bucs passing defense is really really bad, I dont know how much better the Offense can look, unless they are playing a high school team

Gotta say, I'm not a huge fan of putting that much draft capital into a QB and immediately paying him top dollar for a team that's frankly not good enough to add a 'cherry on top' QB.  This defense still needs a ton of help, and we still don't know enough about the young OL we have to know if they are good enough or not to move forward with.

I am not saying it’s the right plan or even a plan that I would go with but I 100% think that is how they are going to view things this off-season. Frankly I think they view that this off-season but they just couldn’t close the deal on anything. If lurie wasn’t speaking out of his ass then this quote about a month after wentz makes me feel stronger about them pursuing finding their franchise Qb this offseason.

Because in the NFL, it’s the one position you can’t just go get. And so when you have an opportunity, you’ve gotta take your shot, and you’ve gotta be bold. Otherwise, if you say to yourself, 'you know, it is probably a 50-50 shot that maybe the quarterback will be really good,' you can't let that deter you. So that’s how I look at it: You either have a really good QB and you compete for the Super Bowl, or you don’t and you are probably not competing for the Super Bowl. And that’s simple.

I had it Bucs 28-24 pretty close

People who think Rodgers is going to come here and play for Sirianni 😂😂😂

Hell of a run by Ertz. Great Eagle.

Lol they asked Nick about changing playcalling

You’d hope but then again i thought the Bucs pass defense was bad heading into that game last night and our offense couldn’t capitalize. say what we want about the lions but they nearly beat the ravens at home if not for a 66 yard field goal. also nearly beat Minnesota if not for a 55 yard field goal. They easily could be 2-3 right now.

Rodgers is the least likely of any of them to come here imo.

Let’s talk about player evaluation.   Why did Williams and Peppers see so few reps yesterday?   Why did Gainwell see his reps decrease?

Hurts doesn’t look lost, he is reverting to the bad habits and displaying gaps in talent that got him benched in Alabama and made him a third tier QB in the draft.  Let me give one example.  I think it was in the second.  On a screen, Brady was throwing as soon as he caught the snap.  In contrast, a screen to Sanders in the same quarter, the DB covering the WR literally had the screen read and was on Sanders before Hurts pulled the trigger.  Hurts needs to read much faster and at 10 games, if we are going to see that, it should be showing now.  Sirianni as much as said that last night when he talked about running the plays versus playground ball.  Is this an overreaction or just seeing what is obviously happening?  I have said since before he was drafted that what worries me most about Hurts is his speed to read.

Clearly Hurts is slow to process and execute the offense. This is a common young QB problem. Good coaches who want to help their give them limited reads and keys. . I think it’s fair to ask how much of the failure on offense is due to Sirianni asking Hurts to do too much.

Sirianni doesn’t seem to adjust play calling.  There’s no planned running attack beyond RPOs. The passing attack asks Hurts, who is proving to be bad at moving within the pocket, to do just that on most throws. The designed roll out game is called sporadically and is too often part of an RPO.  We are 6 games into to a coach that shows no real signs of fixing his issues either.

I happen to agree with the above, you either have a really good QB and are capable of competeing for the SB, or you are just an afterthought spinning your wheels wasting time in the NFL.

I tend to agree with some of this as well.  I believe Hurts needs a "QB whisperer” type of coach and I’m not sure Sirianni is that guy.  Sirianni seems to be more of a "WR whisperer” .  That said, if Hurts continues to struggle, I’d like to see what another QB looks like in his system before writing him off.

So does this begin the fire sale or was this just for Ertz

There's no reason for a fire sale.

You're looking at a team who should be .500 right now,  and possibly even better with decent QB play and nothing else.  Who will be able to add 3 first round picks, and free agents. And has 5 young starters set along the OL for the future.  And is young with talent at all of the skill positions.

Very bright outlook for this team.

Sell on aging guys who make sense to move,  as they are not part of the future,  and add cap savings.

Keep everyone who may contribute the next few years.  This team is quickly on the rise as soon as a QB change is made. Why hinder is progress by fire saling anyone good?

Positive at least we aren’t paying him a ton Of money like the giants are paying Martinez to have the same problem.

I’m with you. It’s why i said i think the eagles were fortunate to play the Bucs on a Thursday in Philadelphia and not a Sunday afternoon game in Philly. I think if the Bucs were on full rest you would’ve likely seen a performance like the dolphins the previous week against the Bucs.

3 wins in 11 days for the Bucs , they could use a bye

Yep.  Howie naysayers hate to admit that Howie has set this team up brilliantly going into the 2022 draft.   (Likely 3 first round picks) plus a plethora of other picks and 10-12 younger starters already.

Crazy thought... what if Sirianni would much rather have Minshew at QB, and is setting Hurts up for failure to a certain extent, in order to build the case that Hurts can't be 'the guy' and that it is time to turn the page?   We know that when Sirianni was hired, he was expecting Wentz to be the QB.  What if he's not tailoring the offense specifically for Hurts, so that he can make the old switcheroo, but is waiting for the right time to do it?

Ok, end of the conspiracy theory stuff from me.

The flip side is that Sirianni might just not be a very good coach... and more importantly, that they missed the boat in putting anyone with HC experience or even prior coordinator experience on the coaching staff to help him.  Going with a ridiculously young staff can be good, but there's something to be said for having some grey hairs around that have been through it all to balance youthful exuberance or idealism.   Andy had some old salts on his original coaching staff with JJ (and the DL coach he brought with him who's name escapes me) and Rod Dowhower.  JJ and the DL coach had seen it all.  Dowhower was a former HC.  They knew the NFL and had to deal with things.  Andy wasn't thrown to the wolves without some mentor help in house.  Sirianni seems to have been set adrift at sea without a compass and was expected to 'figure it out'.   He needs some time to grow into the job as well, I think.  But, what we are seeing right now is a lot of inexperience across the board!

I appreciate the efforts he made up until 2 years ago. But I have no sadness or anger towards the organization because this guy quit on the team,  hurt the team in many games,  and forced his way out.

Carson Strong is my go to.

Big kid, Big Arm, dont over think it.

I like Matt Corral, just not for us.

Also glad Spenser Rattler is bombing so we're not even tempted to take him.

Agreed on Rattler...and that's coming from a big OU fan.  Caleb Williams is the man.  Strong would be my choice as well if I HAD to take one in 2022.  Personally I'd wait for the much better class in 2023.

I dont understand this thinking at all.

You dont have your QB of the future on this roster agreed

Your OL cant stay healthy. You dont have a Wr2, or Wr3, or 4. disagreed. watkins and reagor have the skills, just need a QB who can get them the ball and cater to their strengths

Miles Sanders is in the dog house and will never be out. i think that sirianni will change his philosophy on designed runs. he HAS to

You have 9 holes on your starting Defense. agreed. hargrave and sweat are the only two I'm in love with moving forward that have a future here.

They should of lost the Panthers game and if a half decent QB played for the 9ers they would of boat raced us. agreed

This team is not and repeat not a year or two away two maybe, one definitely not

See above.

Miles, Gainwell, DeVonta, Watkins, Reagor, Goedert, Dillard, Mailata, Seumalo, Dickerson, Driscoll, Sweat, Milton, Hargrave, Gowan, Taylor, McPhearson, Lovato, Siposs.  That's about it.

I’m not ****ing. I’ve expected them to be a 6-7 win team. Likely where they finish. That doesn’t mean I’m not going to say the truth that our QB has not shown to be better each passing week. I’d actually say he’s regressed almost every week besides the KC game

I was agreeing with you. I must not have stated it properly.

I was referring to the people with unrealistic expectations.
