He also got absolutely no push in the run game. What surprised me most was how little Barrett seemed to be trying. He looked like he was making no effort. Don't know why. Maybe they wanted to do more of a mush rush to avoid Dak getting out of the pocket.
September 10, 20214 yr Author I can't get over how much folks are drooling over Brady's second TD to Gronk on a slip route against zero coverage. Garcia did the same with LJ Smith for 65 yards against Dallas in 2006. Unfortunately Smith didn't know how to run in the open field and couldn't score.

That’s a bunch of speed added to that offense. Say what you want about fuller before his suspension last year he was top 10 WR numbers. Granted with watson and not Tua but fuller has talent never been the issue. Health was always the issue. They really didn’t need to make huge moves on the oline cause cause drafted 3 olineman high last year and should improve by starting all those games and not in a pandemic offseason this year. personally i think the Dolphins season basically come down to whether or not Tua is good or bad. If he’s good they will be good. If he’s bad they likely are competitive but still lose. It’s why i think their owner is hell bent on getting watson. The Dolphins are morons for not letting Tua play through tough situations. They pulled him Everytime the game got hard or Tua struggled. They stunted his growth or at least did themselves a disservice by not seeing how he would react or play through those situations. They only have themselves to blame if he hasn't progressed or know for themselves he just isn't the guy. So now they have no choice but, to stick with him for this season through good or bad
September 10, 20214 yr I like Pitts as much as anyone and our LBs are not good, but how often do receivers go nuts in their first game in the NFL? Totally jinxing us right now but still there's usually at least some adjustment period.

They say and it has shown tight ends take longer to develop because they have to learn blocking schemes and route running. We have seen it before but, then again Pitts is a whole new animal.

They are going to move him inside, outside, at TE, in the slot and just create mismatches. And he's going to go out there and he's going to flat out hurt teams. Well that's my opinion anyway.

Yet they still tried to make the playoffs and win games doing what they did with him. they should’ve just let fitz be the starter for the entire year at that point til they got eliminated and just let Tua learn and even heal even more. Like you i thought their strategy of pulling him when he struggled was stupid That said I think when the watson situation gets resolved they are going to trade for him. Unless Tua plays great i think they are are gonna make a move for watson or even russell/rodgers if both become available for trade next offseason.

We will see that oline is not very good at all they will need him to at least chip block and stay in sometimes to help the tackles. I don't think they have the luxury of sending their tight end out every pass play.

It's technically 12 with Hurst as your blocker while having Pitts run routes and lining up in the slot.

Not sure why they can't just name one of them the starter. Ryan Kerrigan is almost a forgotten man with his injury. Maybe he'll play more of the joker/SLB role but I'm guessing he'll be on the DL. Hopefully we see a lot of Milton Williams.

Things can change it was just preseason. God knows we have seen our oline play like crap in the preseason, then round into shape a few games into the regular season and kept our Tight ends in to help out till they got the blocking situated. Minus last year of course lol.

Do we know if that is the base defense?

I could be wrong but that's my assumption. If that is the matchup, it could be a long day if they give Matt Ryan any sort of time.
