What did he say?

Paraphrasing here, but a reporter asked Sirianni if this is the offense he wants to run, or if it is constrained by the strengths and weaknesses of Hurts.

Buried deep in a now typical verbose, nonsensical, and tangential Sirianni response, he ultimately said that he calls passing plays with one read because Hurts does better with that.

How did Siriani blame Hurts for him never running the ball.

The Eagles could get picks 1,2 and 3… if they don’t have a coach or QB it’s not going to matter. One way or another those picks need to be parlayed into an elite QB

He consistently blames the flow of the game and defensive coverages for not running the ball.

You and I might know that, but there are still many people debating the chicken and egg, arguing that Hurts is the one being held back by Sirianni's HS level offense with no progressions built in.  To have the coach acknowledge it is a big deal.

Sirianni might be terrible, but Hurts is absolutely hamstringing him.   Granted though, he's not helping himself by refusing to run the ball.

This booth review for the GB/Chicago game took WAY too long.  No need for it to be proven to be 'inconclusive'.

He could trade a 2nd this year for a 1st next year.

Shouldn't trade one of these 1sts.

Yes you should trade back if you have a taker to pick up an extra first in 2023. Dont forget how much top 10 picks cost salary wise. you dont want 3 top 10 rookie contracts in one year. Then you are facing 3 5th year options, contract extensions etc.

Our best bet is if w have multiple top 10 picks to move out of the top 10 on at least one of them to move back in the first and grab more ammo in 2023 where the QB draft class is better.

And then a delay of game call?   How is that possible?  They took forever with the stupid non-call... why wasn't there a full reset of the play clock?

Eagles will win 6-7 games, same with Miami due to weak second half schedule.

I have Indy at 8-9 games, root for the Titans to take the division and keep them out of the playoffs.

Odds are we end up with 3 picks between 8 and 15, and Howie trades down with one of them (because they're bunched, they can take two players they consdier BPA, and then get someone in the next tier).

This is not the year to look for a QB, you don't trade multiple 1st to move up unless you're convinced you're looking at a top 5 QB, and the odds against that are very long even with QBs taken at the top of the draft.

I'm not thrilled with Sirianni, but I am beyond ready to see Mishew play to at least confirm it. I'm sold that Hurts is not it.

Oh man, poor Giants. If we didn't tank last year Week 17, maybe they wouldn't blow arse.

I don't understand Sirianni's partial compensation for Hurts.  There are 2 options here:

1.  Run your offense.  Screw Hurts.  Pass, pass, pass.  Let him drop back, full progressions, throw INT's left and right, whatever.  But implement your offense, let everyone see how poorly Hurts can handle it, stand up to the "run the ball" criticism, and then have the balls to stand up to Lowie and put Minshew/Flacco in there to run your offense.

2.  Make every compromise and adaptation to win with Hurts.  1 read passing plays at the LOS (we are doing this)...but then go run-heavy with Sanders and Gainwell.  Give Hurts designed runs too.  Repulsive offense, but the best way to compete with Hurts under center.

Do one.  Or do the other.  From a coaching perspective, I can respect either decision.  Instead, we get this worst of both worlds compromise where the called passes are HS level pre-digested baby food for a bad QB...but there are no called runs to take the pressure off said bad QB.

Neither are "it" Minshew is a lot more accurate but he will only throw it up to 20 yards. you can not survive in the NFL if you cant or wont take deep shots at times. In the end sadly I think the FO makes a trade for either Wilson or if he changes his mind on Philly, Watson. I think it would be a mistake given we need to build this roster with talent first. Cant blow multiple picks on a old QB or one who might not play.

Thanks to us, they basically have an extra first round pick.

Top 5 pick, or top 5 in the NFL?    Because frankly, most of the top QBs aren't actually drafted in the top 5.

Of the current starters, fewer than half are top 5 picks...

Stafford, Murray, Darnold, Ryan, Wentz, Goff, Burrow, Mayfield, Tua - and then there's this year's picks: Lawrence, Wilson, Lance.

And of that group, only a couple would even be in the conversation as a top tier QB.  Stafford might be, based on the numbers he's point up.

But, ultimately, the top QBs have been  Brady, Rodgers, Brees, over the last decade (dishonorable mention of Rothlisberger)... Mahomes and Allen now, and none of them were top 5 picks.

So you're saying Minshew more than doubles the range of our current starting QB.

Yeah, they really should be thanking us.

The Eagles/Lions is going to be a barn burner. Cancel all plans for that epic matchup.

Watching RedZone and Wentz is looking like a bonafide gun slinger out there again. He's making throws Hurts couldn't make on his best day.

i think this comes from inexperience.  He's just not sure how to approach it.  He's left in that no man's land of indecision.  I think they really needed just ONE former head coach or old salt coach on the staff to help him navigate these uncharted (by him) deep waters.   He has Stoutland, but I think Stoutland is too buried in the OL stuff to really be that helpful in the QB discussion.

I'm clearing space on the DVR for it.

Siri and Dan Campbell need to do a joint press conference together for the game.  Siri's cliche's mixed with Campbell's meathead quotes and delivery...could be incredible.

The overall state of dysfunction, despair, and hopelessness across all 4 Philly sports teams is, by far, the worst in the history of the city, IMO.

There have been years in the past with worse teams, but the overall frustration and despair levels are peaking right now.

Wentz just threw another TD, he looks like a totally different QB from the one who played on the Eagles last year.

KC is not a very good team

He’s 1-4 and playing, potentially, the worst team in the nfl.

Now, granted, just by being the average qb that he is….is a completely different qb from the one who played on the Eagles last year.
