Welcome back Lane. Hope all is well.

Amazing that you weren't addicted to pain pills or retiring like some clowns in here thought.

Not exactly mutually exclusive. Lest we forget Shawn Andrews.

Likely scenario is the Eagles make a move to upgrade QB after the season.

Worst case scenario is the Eagles believe Hurts has shown enough and keep him as starting QB for 2022 (and beyond)

Best case scenario is some other team believes Hurts has upside where the Eagles don't, and he fetches some return in a trade before next season.

worst case scenario- as the teams we play decrease in talent, they fool themselves that Hurts is the guy. They like dual threat QB's, they like the highlight reel plays a running qb gives them. The front office doesn't want a pocket passer, and they dont want to run the ball. Thats clear, every coach they hire avoids the run like they would lose their job if they ran the ball, and the list of QB's they like, McNabb, Vick, Hurts, they get enamored with the ability of the legs.....

I’ve been thinking this lately too. I can’t imagine how much better these receivers and offense would look with an average NFL QB, someone like Minshew…

not hoping Hurts gets ummm hurt at some point this season, but if he does we will see what Minshew can do.

Nope. They need to tank. He will win them a few meaningless games.

My suspicion is Siri is going to look at the film and can the RPO, it really doesn't play to Hurts' strengths.

Go more conventional play action, roll Hurts out at times, but let him use his mobility as a pocket QB who can evade pressure, and not put him in a position where he's easily defended.

The RPO forces you to be a one read QB (have to throw in under 2 seconds or you end up with OL getting downfield), it's more valuable as a "changeup" to get easy 1st downs when a defense is unprepared than a staple of an offense - NFL DCs have seen too much of it to be taken by surprise anymore.

Sure, Lawrence look pretty good against Miami, who hasn't? Fields looks no better than Hurts, same with WIlson. So it's a bit early to jump to conclusions.

I don't see how unless he plays a lot better in the later games. He's being picked apart by the commentators during games. Thursday was brutal

Glad Lane came forward and wish him the best.  Depression can be an awful, serious issue…but I also feared even worse, so in a way, there can be some small sense of relief.

From a purely football (and ankle) perspective, I would be hesitant to rely on him again and would prefer to look to the future.

We have 2 players on the right side that can at any moment have an anxiety attack and not be able to play

We already are going to probably have a top 5 pick anyway no matter our record.

Your crazy sir Wentz and Goff are much better than Hurts.

I've mentioned this before, Wentz is, and will end up being a top 10 QB this year.

D jones blows, as does Davis Mills, and I wouldnt be shocked if Taylor Heinecke becomes a LOT better than Hurtrs

Goff is lost, wonder if there was a shoulder injury that was quietly hid.

Heinecke has come back to earth.

All the young QBs are struggling, maybe it's tough to transition from college offenses to the NHL?

Wentz is going to end the year around #10 or so, pretty much the same as 2018-2019, the injury cost him a chance to be elite, with reduced mobility he'll always be a little limited, but the big arm and height gives him an edge - but I wouldn't bet on his long-term durability.

There was a MLB player who played a lot of years in Chicago; his name is Frank Thomas -- The Big Hurt.

There is an NFL QB currently playing this year in Chicago; his name is Justin Fields -- The Big Hurts.

My top 5 takeaways from this weekend.

Dolphins need to blow it up. unsure if its the coach, the QB, lack of QB, whatever, they need to start fresh with EVERYTHING.

I hard on this a lot... But after watching Dak, Lamar, Baker, D. Carr, Etc it really shows how Jalen Hurts isnt even in the the top 20 QB range and isnt our guy

Wentz looked really good. Mind you, it was against the Texans, but he also put his team in position to win 3-4 times last week against the Ravens

We all knew Goff was holding back the Rams, but man o man theyre fun to watch.

Because of the Raiders/Chargers and how well the NFC North is, the Chiefs dug themselves a huge hole.

Flores isn't the problem.  I think the GM trading up for Waddle given their o-line was dumb.  Wentz was 11/20. I haven't watch the whole game but 11/20 isn't great. My sense is that Reich has a better handle on designing a game plan for Wentz.  The reality is that Wentz is a much better QB when there's a running game.  He struggles with accuracy but can make some highlight throws.  It doesn't matter because the team has moved on from him.  I think Wentz is a better passer than Hurts.  I am not sure that this team is that much better with Wentz.  It doesn't matter because they had to move on from him.  In the long run, they need to find a franchise QB.

The Chiefs have their next 2 games against bad teams.  They need to improve on defense to be a real threat in the playoffs.  On the other hand, I think offensively they will continue to improve.  Both the Chiefs and Steelers are flawed teams.  The Steelers have an inept offense with no talent on the o-line.  They are not going to be any kind of contender this season.  They have a big game coming up against a depleted Browns team.  I think that game will go a long way to determining which of those teams makes the playoffs.

Roseman wasn't with the team when they drafted McNabb.  I think Reid just thought he had a very strong arm and the mobility was a plus.  Vick was a Reid addition when they were hedging bets against McNabb.  They had also drafted Kolb who wasn't a mobile QB.  After they trade Kolb, they drafted Foles who again wasn't a mobile QB.  Foles ended up taking the starting job from Vick due to injury.  Foles was traded for Bradford.  Then after they moved on from Chip, Roseman fell in love with Wentz. Wentz was mobile but certainly not a dual threat type QB.  I think they thought of him like an Andrew Luck.  They compared Hurts to Wilson based on his mobility.  I do think they also liked his passing production at OU.

I wouldn't be surprised if they pick a QB that is a dual threat type player at QB.  I think it will reflect the potential top prospects. Howell and Corral are both dual threat type players.  If they go QB in the first round, it's what we are likely to see here for the foreseeable future.

If I were you, I would sit this season out , find something else to do with your Sundays.

If Hurts remains our QB and with Siri as our HC, I'm not sure the Front Office is really trying to win this season.

Is TIk Tok comprised mostly of people just dancing?  I still don't get it.

I’m still not totally sure what kind of social media site it is except they knew ahead of our own government what was gonna happen at the Capitol. Twitter is obviously the meanest and funniest at the same time, FB is the worst company wise, they’ll would sell your info to Bin Laden for .10 if he was alive.
TikTok are the detectives, if you wrote in an AOL chat room 20 years ago, they’ll find it, they helped find the Petito girl, they had numerous users investigated by the FBI because of how much they knew about what was going to happen at the Capitol, knew that at least Trump was going to rile up the crowd, and that hundreds were going to break in to make a statement.  It’s why so many believe the whole thing was set up, because they didn’t really increase the security there that day, even though they had users warning the government what was going to happen.

I hope to gos theyreum using this pseudo bye to seriously analye Hurts and make some adjustments

If, and likely when, those adjustments still dont work and he continues to struggle, I hope they use our actual bye to get Minshew in there

Waiting all season to see if Hurts can improve is asinine.  Ive heard a lot of "football guys" say 'give him the season '

F that.  There is no reason to wait.  I feel like we're delaying the inevitable and pissing away valuable game reps.

We finally have a couple receivers who look promising but how can they get better with Hurts as QB?  Gainwell should be getting more touches too.

A person’s health trumps the job needs every time.  Eagles continue to show understanding in dealing with issues of anxiety and depression.  Great to hear that Lane is getting the help that he needs.  So great to see the fan base behind him.

I think for me part of the frustration with Hurts is his failure to make the correct read on RPOs. He clearly looked surprised by the looping LB and then takes off himself.  I have no idea what he sees in that play.  I mean the Eagles have 5 blockers on 4 defenders and then White starts his loop. So they had favorable numbers to run it when they reach the line.  A run is going to likely yield a positive result before White starts looping around.  He should have recognized White looping around before Sanders hit the mesh point.  He didn't see White at all and is clearly surprised when he shows up in his face.   It's not like there was quick hitting route.  This isn't a new play or read to him.

As much as this may be a Hurts issue, it's also a coaching issue.  Someone should be in his ear right after this series telling him to get this read fixed.  Someone should say to him to hand it off when in doubt.  I do not think that's happening based on the run pass ratio.

I suspect Hurts is getting a lot of coaching.   Takes a lot to change habits that have worked for a player in the past.  Some things aren’t going to fix with just coaching. Coaching alone cannot make reads faster or better.  Some of it comes with experience but a whole lot of failed QBs never get there. These next few weeks shall be crucial for Hurts.  Plays teams the Eagles can beat and if the game is going to slow down for him so he can make quicker reads it needs to occur now.

Lots of thirst traps, but honestly it does a really good job at curating your feed. So you will only get the videos you are interested in for the most part.

I can sum up the two types of Videos on there I have seen:

1) Fake videos of staged events that are just cringe worthy , created content for clicks

2) Narcissist's who post "look at me" video's of everything from look at my arse, or boobs bouncing, or just talking about stoopid sheet.

Instagram reels and tiktoc are very similar

Every mobile young QB has struggled this year, which shouldn't surprise people, most of the top picks fail b/c in college, coaches want to win now, so they encourage athletic QBs to make plays with their legs, when they hit the NFL, they find out they can't juke and out run CBs and safeties, DCs will employ spies, and you can't match 1st rd talent WRs against CBs who'll never sniff the draft.

I think Siri went a little overboard trying to make Hurts comfortable, it's a rebuilding year, run your offense and make Hurts figure it out, or not.
