Looking at this week's line, how is Miami a 2.5pt underdog at home vs. Atlanta? Atlanta is bad too.

I do believe the organization has a stern philosophy of being a pass heavy attack. I think that’s fine with the right guy in place. Hurts is a developmental QB. He can’t be expected to throw this many times at this point in his career. They’re trying to fast forward the progression, which isn’t fair to him.

I don’t believe Hurts will ever be that guy, and nothing in his college tape or resume suggested he would either. It made no sense for the organization to select him it’s going to be so rigid in its beliefs.

What made even less sense was when Mike Garofolo came out and said the Eagles organization saw around the league that guys like Lamar Jackson were wave of the future and that’s another reason why they selected him. Meanwhile at that point in time Lamar Jackson and the ravens offense was a run based offense And their philosophy is to be a pass first based offense. unless they truly believed they could develop hurts into being a top notch passer, they had a conflicting philosophy with the player they selected and what offense should be run.

People like you were upset when the Eagles won the super bowl because you hate nick foles and your agenda is more important

I wasn't upset at all about the Eagles winning the Super Bowl. Meanwhile dopes like you wanted Foles over Wentz and played a part in Wentz wanting out of here.

Both bad , one coming off the bye

Miami also coming off a long trip to London without a bye week. That is brutal. Especially when their season is likely going down the drain. I could see atlanta smoke them in this game. Going to see a lot of character revealed for the dolphins in this game. If they have no energy or fight for this game against atlanta (winnable game) then it’s going to get really ugly.

Yikes. What a bad HC.

The titans only had 3 possessions in the second half (not including end of game kneel down) and scored on all three possessions. Maybe the bills would’ve held them to a field goal if they lost the toss but might have had minimal time left to go score a td to win the game. however if you take away the final drive of the first half where they got it with 40 seconds and basically ran out the clock, they had scored on 6 straight possessions: td, fg, td, td, fg and td. The bills likely had to win that coin toss to prevent the titans from scoring.

I don't disagree... I am talking in the generic sense.  It is far less about a coin flip than it was... and even when it was just first score wins... the team winning the toss still only won about half the time.  So... it really wasn't an outcome based on the coin toss, but based on the teams involved.  If it was based on getting the ball first, then there would have been a strong disparity in wins by the team winning the coin toss.

I agree in principle that many times, teams that are in a 'upset' position should look to win the game in regulation, or even when it's a high probability type outcome, like the QB sneak to convert a 4th down and get the first down and go for the TD for the win.

Wentz leaving was his own doing

Tua is pretty bad

I think the worst thing about that play was the fact that allen didn’t try to draw the Titans offsides and use the play clock to his advantage. I think he was trying to be sneaky, got to the line fast and snapped at 20 seconds left on the play clock thinking that he would catch the Titans offguard. Meanwhile it looks like on the replay Dawkins that caught by surprise that he snapped it so early in the play clock. he didn’t get off the ball very fast and got destroyed by Simmons.

agreed. However, drafting Hurts did not help. Wentz let it get in his head.

ZEROOOOO CHANCE the colts allow us to have a top 10 pick.

I think game 12 is where he could reach the snap count.  https://www.phillyvoice.com/carson-wentz-snap-count-tracker-eagles-first-round-pick-colts/  I think there's a good chance they win 3 out of the next 4.  I don't expect them to beat either the Bills or Bucs but they certainly would start Wentz if they are at 5-5 and 5-6 heading into those games.

🤣 If Wentz wanted to leave because of people like me then by all means don’t let the door hit you in the ass.

And I did not want Foles over Wentz.

If competition bothers him that much he shouldn't be playing in the NFL. He could've put all those questions to bed by simply playing well

I don't think he got over BDN winning the SB either

He has a nice arm but is wild.  It's almost as if his dad screwed him up by making him throw with his left arm.  He should switch to throwing it right handed and see if he's any better.

That was kind of the argument i used. I think they likely split the niners and titans games the next two weeks. Then go into the bills game 5-5. Likely lose to bills and Bucs and then face houston and NE. I think they are likely 7-7 heading into the last three games of the year at Arizona, vs. raiders and at jags. They probably finish either 9-8 or 8-9 which might sneak them into the 7th seed

No - everyone is a superstar and deserves a participation trophy.

I can accept and believe Hurts isn't the answer at QB.  Hurts isn't the problem long term.  If he's out after this season as a starter, the question remains can Sirianni develop a more talented prospect or coordinate an offense for a proven veteran QB.  I have no confidence that Sirianni and his current staff can do either at this point.

I have more confidence in that than I do in him being able to win anything with Hurts there

i kind of believe as soon as that pick was made he wanted out. They won’t ever say it and he won’t ever say it but I would wouldn’t be surprised that when that pick went through he didn’t want to be here. And they talked and reeled him back in

what’s funny about this is Michael Vick said it after the Super Bowl run that is a shadow that he nor anyone following right after foles would be able to get out of.

And then the second elective surgery will be to repair Wentz’s fragile ego…

Now explain to me how they are mathematically eliminated with 5 games to go...in a realistic world.

Just stop it. Beyond the fact that if he is playing decently, Reich would torpedo himself with the locker room, there is no chance they are eliminated after 12 games. It's the stupidest conspiracy theory since flat earth.

He's afraid of competition and doesn't like getting coach hard. Add BDN winning the Lombardi Trophy and then almost taking the Eagles back to the SB....it was building up for 3 seasons. It was his own doing why he's no longer here

Their schedule is:

49ers - Maybe

Titans - Maybe

Jets - Win

Jaguars - Win

Bills - Loss

Bucs -Loss

Texans - Win

Patriots - Maybe

Cardinals - Loss

Raiders - Maybe

Jags  - Win

So the worst case for them is probably 6 wins and the best is probably 12 wins.  I think you're probably right and the key, assuming Wentz is healthy, is where they are going into game 12.  That looks to be where Wentz would hit the threshold snap count.  Even if they are sitting their with 4 wins, I still think they're not sitting Wentz.  I mean 9 wins is still within reach at that point.

Can we please stop with the insanity where the Colts bench a healthy Wentz with 5 games to go? There is no chance of that happening.

With the Colts having 4 very winnable games coming up (SF, TEN, NYJ, JAX) , I'm waiting for the hand wringing here.
