OU might want to rethink their QB position

Cincy struggling with Navy not a good look for number 2 ranked team

Ridder showing why he isn’t a first rd qb

Looking forward to seeing Pickett against Clemson

and Strong and Haener playing against one another

The Eagles have always sent scouts to the Cincy Bearcats. We have drafted some very successful players from there in Cole, Celek and Kelce. Im sure people want to make this out to be more then it is.

99% of the colleges need to rethink the QB position. I still am not buying the running QB. I would want a more in the accurate pocket QB who can be mobile to buy a little time. Problem is these colleges keeps going with a running QB offense and its killing the future of the QB position in the NFL.

You see a lot of mobile QBs starting for college programs because there aren't enough polished passers to go around...

Never mind the kind of talent you need on the OL and at WR to build that kind of passing game at the college level. The path to success in CFB is much easier and realistic with an athletic QB.

"I talked to the Eagles pre-draft and before the draft I already had all my Eagles stuff ready to go and I was set to come play for the Philadelphia Eagles,” Gowan said on Friday. "And then the Cardinals took me a pick before the Eagles.”

You guys prolly already posted this, but in case you didn’t…

I am a sucker for stories like this. 😅

Well the top QBs this draft are not running QBs

They can mover around the pocket and scramble if need be , but not running QBs

Corral

Strong

Zappe

My top 3 , they can beat you with their arms

Mobile QB and Running QB are two completely different concepts.

They are far from top QBs. they might be the best in this draft but they are not top NFL QB prospects. This has been discussed already and majority agree.

My latest addition to my rookie collection

Corral will be first QB drafted , that makes him top QB

point is , you don’t need to run like Lamar Jackson to have success at the position

top of the draft does not make him a top QB. Makes him the shinny turd in the pile of crap

you’re missing the point , but I am done with this discussion

I figured out who Desmond Ridder reminds me of…Randall Cunningham. Same body type live arm big time athleticism accuracy issues.

Corral is running an obscene amount so far this season.  Do not want — we already have a guy like that

He’s Colin Kaepernick when I watch him

One of the things that Daniel Jeremiah said recently that really resonated with me was his take on the draft evaluation of Herbert and Josh Allen in hindsight.

He said highly talented QBs who are smart and have an excellent work ethic learn to overcome their deficiencies with time and experience.

That's what Herbert and Allen were able to do even though they came into the NFL with clear flaws.

It's why I value intangibles more and more in every sport, if you lack smarts, you'll never realize your potential, if you lack a strong work ethic, you're not going to improve.

Yeah thats why I liked Mac Jones despite all his detractors. Hes gonna turn out alright. I just want a guy who knows how to play QB. Not a guy who can just improvise at the QB position. A real QB.

Couple of these guys will get overdrafted this year due to athleticism, and a team's desperation. Ill take an underrated guy who falls to round 3 because he wasnt as flashy. He can develop a year behind....hopefully Minshew.  And then we will see what we have.

It's why I'm intrigued by Ridder, he has flaws, but he's big, fast, and has a live arm.

If his intangibles match his talent, that's someone you can bet on to overcome his deficiencies with time.

Ridder isn’t close to being as jacked as Kaepernick.

Under a right Coaching regime Ridder can become a very good QB. He has the arm and athleticism needs help with his accuracy and going through his reads.

Unfortunately Philadelphia with this coaching staff isn’t the right spot.

What a trade
