Fantasy players=wins and losses?   I used to think that winning games mattered, but to some it doesn’t

I’ve been saying for awhile now Jalen Hurts and Ben Simmons will help win you fantasy championships. Unfortunately, that’s how some decide who’s a good player.
Neither one comes close to passing the eye test.

The reason so many teams stay bad is this pattern:  draft a QB high, start him as a rookie with inadequate talent around him, when he fails, draft another QB high, repeat cycle.

Alternative, build a top ten OL, a top ten defense, find a good FG kicker, then get a young QB. So he has protection and isn't playing from behind all the time.

8 teams are allowing 20 or less points per game, 4 more 21 points a game. Last year was an aberration, two years ago 10 teams allowed less than 20 ppg - that should be your goal on defense.

So you go into games thinking 2 TDs, 3 FGs and we have a good shot at winning most games. That allows an OC to call a more conservative game and wait to take his shots.

Of all the young QBs, only Mac Jones in NE has that luxury.

Some teams stay in this pattern also because they draft bad qb's who aren't capable of being an NFL starting qb.    In fact more teams miss on drafting QB's than those that hit on them.

Most highly prized QB's coming out of college dont make it in the NFL....  the same can be said of any player coming out in the NFL, it's just that much harder for QB's

He also said Hurts will continue to get all of the 1st team reps.  I heard what he said about Minshew.  It was vanilla empty compliments.  Don’t read to far into it.

It wouldn't matter- Minshew would still be better even without 1st team reps. He would have to be really bad to be worse.

Lost in the flower analogy.  Was the fact that he brought his brother daddy up…….again!!

He sounds more and more like a college coach, and he’s the type of guy who would get the LSU job, and show at the opening press conference with a Nick Saban T shirt from 2004.

This is supposed to be an extremely deep class because of the increased talent pool of players.  Lots of guys didn’t declare for the draft last April because of the abbreviated college season

The quarterback class looking mediocre doesn't mean the entire draft is weak. If 'Mr. Quarterback Factory' can exercise some restraint this draft could be fine. It's not like the Eagles are a Quarterback away.

I’d be willing to bet either via trade for a veteran or drafting a QB early that the eagles are going to have their "franchise” QB in the fold next year.

I won't be watching because it's not worth the effort while on vacation, but Sunday will actually be a very interesting and critical game with respect to the coaching staff.

Every Sunday, this staff is facing a massive and overwhelming talent deficit.  What they are doing isn't coaching and scheming...they are just frantically plugging leaks.  It's like evaluating an admiral who is just in a rowboat using a pail to bail out water.  Granted...let's not sugar coat it...the coaching staff is doing a poor and irrational job of plugging those holes.

But this Sunday...they won't be facing that talent deficit.  They can coach their game, call their plays, scheme their scheme.  If the decision-making and playcalling suddenly make sense against Detroit, then we will at least know the coaching staff might have potential; they have just been struggling to adapt to a woeful roster.  For this one game, they'll have the opportunity to put players in the right positions and isolate some winnable matchups.

And if things look bad again...then you can probably punt on this staff.

They also have access to his film. He’s played well enough that a team could easily see him as a long term solution at LT.

I've totally blanked on names.  But the guy we had who ended up on the jets as a starter for years.  And also Kelly or whoever that red head guy was... we have had some not so great players go be productive starters. Dillard is better than them both,  and also has better pedigree as a recent 1st rounder.

In light of Siriani's gardening reference,  Gardner Minshew has quite a name.  Ironically, he is not being given the chance to blossom.

I almost guarantee you lurie isn’t going to sit around and wait 2 off seasons to find his potential franchise QB. Go look at the end of 2015 going into 2016 that team was not a quarterback away And lurie made it his job to find the franchise quarterback even after signing Bradford back. the Eagles attempted to trade up for Zach Wilson in this draft and have been tied to watson whom they sent people to Houston to investigate his issues and talked to Watson’s camp. I don’t know how many different signs the Eagles need to show for it to become more obvious they want to get the franchise quarterback in place for the foreseeable future. They’ve shown this since they had to deal wentz.

He sounded like a pop warner coach today. I wonder if he will hand out orange slices after practice.

I would say - I dont care about fantasy football - I care about the Eagles Pro Football Team. Hurts may get you points in fantasy, but in reality he is hurting this team as QB1

Hurts racks up fantasy points because he functions as our starting QB and our starting RB.

I think he is. He's held up pretty well honestly. I get the feeling that lane isn't going to be here much longer and the last thing we need is more holes

I agree. I'd much rather find a way to move Lane over Dillard.

People are scoffing at a 6 but dont realize he's a backup LT with 1st round money.

Dillard for a 5 is more then reasonable. Wether we take it is another question.

Not getting a 1st, 2nd or 3rd for him lol.

He's actually performed quite well this year.  LT is the second most important position in football.  Teams overpay all the time.  Look what we got for...LMAO Matt Pryor.
