yet. They should give Hurts a reasonable audition, not 7 games. But if it were up to me I'd want to make sure minshew isn't worth considering before burning 1st round picks

Just so we can discuss this intelligently, how many games is a reasonable audition?

If we are being honest I don’t even think the audition matters. I think lurie and howie already made up their mind. The Eagles continue to show since they dealt Carson Wentz away that they wanted a better quarterback than Jalen hurts. People just don’t want to accept the fact that the Eagles at every single turn they have tried to get a quarterback which they deemed was better than Jalen hurts.

This is not me saying Jalen hurts is a bum or he’s destined to be a failure this is me reading everything that’s been reported about the Eagles and what they’ve been trying to do.

They got that QB August 28th

Damn, if we could all do what we love as long as Josh Johnson the world would be a happier place.

Pickett...

Only 6'2", arm falls into the meh but good enough category.  Only putting up big numbers (and not quite WOW numbers) as a 5th year senior.

Could he end up being great?  Franchise?  Absolutely.  But I'm not betting on him until round 2.  And in this weak QB class, someone else will invest long before that.

In a stacked QB draft, he's the kind of guy I'd be excited to draft in round 3 as a lottery ticket at the position.  But he's not the type of talent you draft top 10 and marry your future to.

Shiel Kapadia, who I respect a ton and is normally very reserved in his judgement, just unloaded on the Eagles coaching staff.  Says it’s hard to watch and review tape on this defense and can only imagine how hard it would be as a veteran player to want to play in it.  Then echoed my opinion about the offense.  Says there is no rhyme or reason or "scheme” to this offense.  No adjustments.  No setting up future plays.  Says the receivers are getting open (Smith mostly) but it’s not like it is all the time.  So again.  A scheme is not just about getting a WR open.  And a HC job is not just to get WR’s open.  There is no scheme on either side of the ball.  No direction.  The talent level isn’t very good but the coaching is worse.

I am not one to quickly judge anyone but I feel pretty certain that the staff is just not competent.   I want to see them prove me wrong.  I was hopeful that Gannon would be a refreshing change from Schwartz's fairly plain scheme.  I was hoping that Sirianni would focus on a running attack to utilize the strength of the team.  Both have failed and not only have they failed to adjust in games or from game to game to improve things.  The team is undisciplined.  They don't execute well.  The players seemed supportive but now that is changing.

If Minshew is on the sidelines and Eagles are doing bad against the Lions I wouldn’t be surprised to hear chants

Given he actually came out with that bollox It's hardly surprising to hear that veteran players in the locker room are switching off. The lack of self awareness is what bothers me most. Head's gone 🤯

I thought this was a home game lol

Nick.....I like you and believe in you but please stop talking.

BTW,  with how terrible the Jets are and they just got 54 dropped on them with supposedly a great defensive mind, any chatter of Saleh being fired?  Also, how are Joe Douglas draft picks looking?

I had an old coach who used to say, "if you run a play and it's successful, run it again. Don't assume the other team got smart. Run it until they stop it."

In the last game we put Cox in the A gap and the other DT as a 3-tech, with an LB five yards deep over the center. Denver doubled Cox, turned the other guy (usually Hargrove) out, blocked the LB with the LT, and ran straight up the gut for 8-10 yards a pop. What did we do? Same alignment on the next play. So, straight up the gut, 8-10 yards.

My old coach was right.

I think you mean Vegas not Denver but yeah!

lol what a mess

Ugh...  I don't want to dislike Sirianni... but I don't want to listen to him talk.

Meanwhile, Bobby Boucher would be better than our current starting LBs.

Easily, I would go so far as to say Adam Sandler might be better that our current starting linebackers

By the end of the season there will be unanimous hatred for Sirianni. I’m there now but I trust the process.
