LOL!!  I've really enjoyed gettleman.  He's been everything I expected, and more.  No risk in Lurie hiring him, as he is more likely to try to find someone he can sell that he can also push around.

That said, it would take considerable fan and community outrage to get him to consider pushing his lackey out.

This is true, however I think Lurie also got much more involved post-visor on the football decisions, and wrongly evaluates himself and his lackey's prior decisions and capabilities.

Lurie is now Faux Jerry Jones.  He is every bit as involved, makes every ultimate decision, but has a sidekick to hide behind.  "Collaborative approach."  I don't think he will give up this role, unless he faces an extended period of unprecedented failure.  He does seem to be on his way there....

Jerry drafts well at least

Its gonna be a while before hes playing, imo.

It's gonna be a while before we get a franchise qb again

usually when the media starts asking a coach about benching a guy, a few losses later the guy gets benched.

And direct phone lines. I oversee the very tools for our sales org that find contact info. I've called Howie's direct line before and left a voicemail.

I hope you were drunk when you left it.

Howie can control both the GM and the coaches then

As long as he's not making the call in the draft room.

I won't be watching because it's not worth the effort while on vacation, but Sunday will actually be a very interesting and critical game with respect to the coaching staff.

Every Sunday, this staff is facing a massive and overwhelming talent deficit.  What they are doing isn't coaching and scheming...they are just frantically plugging leaks.  It's like evaluating an admiral who is just in a rowboat using a pail to bail out water.  Granted...let's not sugar coat it...the coaching staff is doing a poor and irrational job of plugging those holes.

But this Sunday...they won't be facing that talent deficit.  They can coach their game, call their plays, scheme their scheme.  If the decision-making and playcalling suddenly make sense against Detroit, then we will at least know the coaching staff might have potential; they have just been struggling to adapt to a woeful roster.  For this one game, they'll have the opportunity to put players in the right positions and isolate some winnable matchups.

And if things look bad again...then you can probably punt on this staff.

It would be ok, if they just showed fight, improvement, something you could say, hey we’re gonna be ok next year, but you can’t say that about this team

I'm all about finding someone from an organization that adds talent consistently.  Unfortunately, Dallas is up there on that list.

The most important thing is that whoever is hired has full authority, and we don't hear nonsense about "collaborative approach" i.e. current owner/GM still running things, only with a new lackey.

This is a pipe dream, I'm not letting myself get too far ahead.  No way the owner/GM does the right thing.  The draft record is so abysmal, if he didn't make the change last year... he will run it back with the lackey, completely blow the most important draft they've ever had and hire yet another coaching staff.  Hopefully more "collaborative" guys loaded with emotional intelligence, perhaps with a sprinkling of whatever the new 2021-22 season NFL buzzwords will be.

The only bright spot this team has is Stoutland, they have done pretty well drafting O Linemen, and his coaching of the linemen has been really good.   He can’t be allowed to ever leave, if he wants to quit coaching fine, put him in the front office as anything.
Dolphins, Giants, Jets, and Jags all have bad O line play, and it’s the main reason they’ve been garbage the past 4-5 years, especially the Dolphins.  It doesn’t matter how good smart your HC is or how good the QB is if the O Line is crap.

Sanders is no surprise.   But you’re going to start to see players bail.  Until they make a change.  The most logical change is to fire the DC and bench Squirts.

This is the other problem with waiting so long to check out Minshew.

Between the injured players,  and those who have quit, by the time he gets his "opportunity" the team will be a mess and it won't be a fair environment to evaluate him.

Man, listening to the BwF podcast and Sheil had literally nothing good to say about the team except Josh Sweat winning a bunch as a pass rusher despite playing that ridiculous 4i.

There has been no evidence of progress, and he's at 11 starts already.  So, one or two more sounds reasonable.

The way I see it, when Hurts came out after a turd of a game against Dallas and said that he was just going to flush that game, I was ready to move on.  A young QB needs to study the worst film of himself to learn how to get better.  The fact that he wanted to immediately turn the page from that made it apparent that he actually thinks he's arrived as an NFL QB.  He can say whatever other platitudes he wants to about working hard and 1% or whatever.  That game was an opportunity to learn a great deal about himself and how to improve and rather than take that opportunity, he wanted to just move on.   Sorry, that's not how NFL starting QBs are made... they are made by doing the hard STUDYING of the film, not just being a gym rat, but being a film rat.  Seems he wants to work hard in the gym, but not in the film room to improve.   And his apparent lack of film study is made manifest on the field by his inability to see his receivers all over the field and to lock in on his primary read, and even then he releases the ball late more often than not.

I can give him the Detroit game to show that he's making some... even any progress.  Right now, he's actually regressing.  And there's no need to have the entire team regress with him, unless that's actually the goal.  Piss everyone off, tank without tanking and ensure as many high picks as possible.   Of course, if that's the plan, then that's the plan from Lowie, and we have no hope that Howie will be reassigned (I can't believe that he'd ever be 'fired'.) And the saddest part is that if that is the plan (I can't believe it is), then that itself is also a great indictment on Roseman's failures as a GM as well.

I expected to see a lot of losses, but I also expected to see a lot of competitive games that they'd lose just because their defense was porous, or because Hurts wasn't good enough to bring them back in a game at the end.  I didn't expect that the games would be over by and large by the middle of the 3rd quarter and that they'd just be racking up garbage time points and stats.    Saw a graphic that they have 55 points in the 4th quarter, which is 5th highest in the league.  That's a bad sign for a 2 win team... means that they aren't even close in the games they play and teams happily give up yards and points late just to get the game over quicker.

That’s how Lamar made his most improvement at the college level, they got him a VR system so he could see almost everything from his POV, and all the passes he missed by running to early, and tendencies of the defense, plus certain players.
Then you have Tua, he admitted in 2021 that he didn’t really know Chan Gaileys playbook from his rookie year when Gailey was the OC, lol, dude was running plays from 20 plus years ago from the Cowboys playbook and Tua didn’t know them very well.   He should kept that info to himself.

In Philadelphia every time someone says "trust the process”, they should be electrocuted like a dog getting close to a buried fence, each time it hurts worse until hopefully it blows their head completely off.

Too bad our last one quit on us. Now if only the team can demote Howie...

Saw the Sirianni comment when I woke up this morning, figured you guys had a field day with that in the blog lol

Don't ask me why, but I get the feeling if Hurts performs like trash in the first half against the Lions and we're losing. NS will get the green light to put in Gardner at halftime. Idk, it just smells like one of those things with the Flacco trade. Like NS is obviously gonna support Hurts and coach speak in the open. It's probably a different story behind close doors with Howie and Lurie atm.

Someone needs to track the softness of this team.

Hurts has to go to the hospital because of a tummy ache. Smith can't practice because of a headache. Sirianni is a precious flower. What else am I missing?
