Carter hart and the defense picking up from where it left off last year. At least offensively we look much more consistent.

What in gods name are you talking about lol Hart is the only reason this game isn't 7-4

Talking from the first and early second period. He was not that good early in that game. There was bad defense and he also gave up 3 goals on 13 shots. That’s when i said that right after the oilers tied it at 3 after 21 mins of play. He was great after that. First 21 mins he was not that good especially on the third goal. I thought it was a soft goal.

He was good in the first, made a ton of stops. The third goal was the only soft one. The second one was a pass to the low slot that went off of braun's stick, nothing he could do since he was moving to where the pass was going

The last 10 minutes of the first and opening minute of the second the oilers had 8 shots on goal. and scored 3 goals. Take the second goal away if you want. He and the flyers still gave up 2 other goals on 7 shots. The first one i thought he should’ve had. Give credit to the oilers Barrie for the shot but that should have been a save imo. The third one was definitely soft goal which really could’ve been a back breaker as the flyers took the lead with a huge momentum goal with less than a second left in the first. When I said what I did the Flyers had a 2-0 lead, blew it, regained the lead and hart gave up a soft goal which was very much flyers like last year

i thought he was sharp to start the game then he kind of struggled for the next 10 mins and gave up the 3rd goal. but to his credit he didn’t allow it to fester and played great after that which was unlike last year at times where it snowballed.

I thought the defense in the first 10 minutes was reminiscent of last year where they struggled to get the puck out cleanly way too many times and gave up a bunch of shots. the third goal was reminiscent of what you saw from Carter Hart last year where he lets in a soft goal when the flyers regained momentum. Credit to the Flyers and hart they turned it around after that third goal and played much better on defense and Carter Hart regained his form from the first ten mins of the game.

We could end up with the #1 overall pick in a draft that doesn't have a great QB prospect

Just our Fing luck

Is there at least some kind of generational defensive player?

Hopefully one rises late. We have no other appealing options.

Every coach in the league tries different things for motivation. Mike McCarthy crushes watermelons. They're football coaches and football players. Nick's are only seen as embarrassing because the team is losing. If we were winning, it would be a different story. The problem isn't what Sirianni says, it's that we're losing.

I don’t disagree with this, but the point I’m making is that the more successful coaches in the league don’t need to do that type of cornball stuff. Belichick, Reid,  Payton, LaFleur, McVay, Harbaugh, Arians, etc. You don’t see or hear them doing that stuff. While guys like Campbell, Judge, and Sirianni are walking meme coaches and their team records show why. But the thing I give Campbell credit for is that his players play for him and have been competitive in some games.

I’m concerned that Nick and specifically Gannon on the defensive side are on the verge of losing their players. And I think a loss this week puts them in a tailspin.

Eagles fuch up next year's draft, and they'll be basement dwellers for the next decade.

No excuses with potentially three 1st round picks.

Afan is working on the excuses as we speak.

You can’t defend that silly stuff about a flower  , and  how it’s little roots grow each day  , until one day it’s a big strong flower .
atleast use a oak tree analogy , if you must be corny .

If Jalen Hurts was good, these analogies from Sirianni would be endearing. However the QB is playing poorly, leading us to losses, and people are upset.

If the worst drafting GM in the league by far, I.e. Faux Jerry Jones, along with his trusty sidekick, GM in name only, leave these decisions to themselves, that is exactly what is going to happen.  Collaborating their way to a consistent, bottom of the league franchise and perennial losing team.  But hey, they are having a lot of fun.  Seats are still full at the Linc.

Outside of the 1st goal Hart played really well.  Oilers were buzzing and he stopped a lot of high quality chances.  2nd period could have been disastrous and he kept it even.

There he is.  The great Hart defender.  Get so sensitive.   He won’t be your friend bud.

Hart did play well.  Hate the first goal but after that he was what is needed for the Flyers to beat the top teams.

How unfortunate that we are sitting with potentially 3 first rounders and Howie will find a way to blow them all.

Fun times ahead.

Cam Newton shows up for games and press conferences dressed like an 80 year old former fashion mogul and was beloved by his teammates and opponents. And people really are talking about a flower metaphor?

These things don’t matter. Results do.

Beat a 5-0-0 team with the two top scorers in the world, in their home building, and give up 3 goals on 34 shots — and folks moan and cry about how Hart played.

The agony of victory.

The Flyers are good. Won without Ellis/Hayes too.

If Belichick or any other coach were to talk about flowers and how their roots become stronger when you water them  , everyone would be roasting that coach too ,  Siri seems like a really nice guy , but he should probably not use RPS and flower analogies when talking about his team .

The problem isn't as much what he said but the way he said it and the credibility of the comments.  He was explaining that the team is on the verge of really improving.  Well, that is frankly a bunch of horse crap. He he made a rambling far flung metaphor about football players.  It's funny.  He is the Head Coach of a billion dollar company that wants consumers to spend thousands of dollars a year to consume.  He deserves scrutiny and criticism.

You're right that if he's winning then it's likely not that big of a deal.  The problem isn't, though, just that they're losing.  The problem is they have looked like a bad team in almost every game whether they have won or lost this year.

Fact is, Hart is not the all world goalie we had hoped.

It's not a fact at all. Dude is 23 years old. It's insanely early to make that determination. If they traded him and he went on to win a Vezina like Bobrovsky, I'm sure you'd be one of the first on here killing the team for trading away an asset.

Hart is like a rusty gate

Hart is average or slightly better than average.  That devpool guy gets so defensive about him in the Flyers thread.  I like to twist his him up over it.  He's like afan and howie.

Fact is, Hart is not the all world goalie we had hoped.  The sooner people realize that the better.  I still see a decent but not great team that if they make the playoffs, will not go deep.

Yeah, it's a bummer.  Sometimes he is really good, then the softies fly in.  This going low when the puck is below the circle is making me insane.  If he is simply standing the first goal is an easy save and stoppage of play to let the D regroup.

I’m shocked how well the panthers look  , and how bad Canadians look ,  I mean they are without Price and Webber , but still .

No surprise, but Mikell and Avant are shredding the defense, and Mikell said Carr pretty much looked for Davion Taylor and attacked him relentlessly.
