How on earth did Giants Chiefs get a Monday night game?

The NFL offices are in NYC and Goodell is a Giant's fan.  They are always optimistic about the Giants being better than they are.

BLG went on a pretty good rant on his latest episode with Kempski. I agree with pretty much everything he said, and have stated as much recently.

Talked about how building a great roster and just adding an elite QB once that roster is built isn't a realistic way to build a team.

And then went on a rant about the Eagles future and how bleak it looks.

Thats a false dichotomy

You should never NOT be building your roster.  Period.

He addressed Tampa, saying we can’t bank in the Goat deciding to come here.

I don’t think we had a ready-built roster in 2016. The heavy lifting was done, but it required a lot of work in 2017.

I would also point out teams that didn’t have their teams ready made for a quarterback that are playing very well right now are the bengals with Joe Burrow, the Cardinals with Kyler Murray, and the chargers with Justin herbert. Could add Derek carr to this as well as the raiders are 5-2 now. But really his 3rd year in the league before he got hurt Oakland was fighting for the no. 1 seed and were a 4-12 mess when he got there.

not only that there’s teams that have their teams built up that are still looking for good enough QBs to win a title. Broncos are in that boat. The Vikings are in that boat as they had a team tailor made and thought they were just a QB away and got cousins. It’s failed.

I also agree with you the Eagles roster in 2016 going into 2016 was not good. They had the worst wide receiving corps in the league, bottom five in the league in corners and coming off a 7-9 season. They signed brooks that offseason whom not many thought would become an all pro type player and mcleod. They also and almost unanimously on here people didn’t think they were going to be a Super Bowl contender in Carson Wentz’s second year when he was drafted. they and most of us at the time they drafted wentz thought they could be a playoff caliber team in the second year. Really we hoped year 3 they’d be a super bowl contender when we drafted him

i’m not saying there’s a right or a wrong way to do it but what I’m saying is if you’re just gonna ignore the quarterback position just gonna build up your team and when ready get the QB like that plan is without any potential failure is humorous. There is a multitude of ways that plan fails. You should be building your team and looking for your franchise quarterback at the same time. If there’s a quarterback out there that you absolutely love and you thinks gonna be a franchise quarterback for the next decade you go and get him. You don’t wait because you know I’ll just get one in a couple years when we are ready like magically that QB you want is gonna appear.

This. You should be building up your roster and looking for your franchise quarterback at the same time. If there’s a quarterback out there that you absolutely love and you absolutely think is gonna be a franchise quarterback you don’t wait. You go get him. Not say "I’m not ready for one right now” and pass up on a QB that can alter your whole franchise. you go get him and you find a way to build the team around him if he’s out there. now if there’s not one out there that you love don’t force it.

That should be the way they go about it. not the extreme we must get a quarterback which I think the lurie believes and is philosophy. Or this other extreme of we have to build the roster up for another couple years until we can get a quarterback so we should just pass up on a guy we potentially love.

So Howie pays 2.4M$ in cap sapce for a 6th rd pick.

BRILLIANT!!!!!!

GENUIS!!!

He paid $11M for the 1st rounder he got for Bradford.

@LeanMeanGM I have thought long and hard about this.  Sure this is a Duce revenge game.  Sure the Lions are coached by a man that wants his team to bite the kneecaps off of opponents whereas the Eagles are coached by a man that just wants his players to bloom and only get 1% better per game.  Sure the Lions may actually be able to run the ball against a defensive scheme designed to make defenders passive rollovers and where the only thing the defense does well is prevent the other team from punting.  Sure Hurts is seeing phantoms in the pocket, can't pass to the left side or center of the field, can't pass to the right side with any kind of accuracy, has some sort of dyslexia when it comes to running RPO's and has the arm strength of a daisy.  Sure Miles Sanders is hurt, Boston Scott isn't playing the Giants and Gainwell is fumbly.  I don't care.  It's my birthday this weekend. I'm getting drunk. Eagles 22 Lions 30.

Woohoo  - with a Lions' win the Eagles are in line for number one overall pick.

He can't cover like Schwartz wanted.  He's probably better suited to a cover 3 system or in the Red Zone where he doesn't have to worry about getting beat by speed.

On the road today. Sister released to a rehab facility. Stopped at a rest stop south of Dallas and there was a cowpads long neck coozie in the gutter. Said that’s where anything cowboys belongs. Repping the Eagles through Dallas today.

Let me know when those picks become proven players and/or we have a QB.

That's the crux of it all.  Folks need to understand this will be a 2-3 year rebuild because it needs to be done through the draft; there isn't cap money to sign skilled FA players.  I seriously doubt there are any established QBs who are lining up to come to Philly either.

The Eagles are tied to most of the veteran guys by bloated contracts for at least 1-2 more years.  Once those guys are off the books it's a different story.

Helps to have an MVP candidate starting QB, and have his backup play out of his mind for the biggest two games of his career, and get career year production from a bunch of guys.  Was truly lightning in a bottle.

And please don't tell me about how good he picks in the early part of the first round... that's not a talent evaluator's hardest task... its finding studs and helpful pieces in the 2nd round, 3rd round, etc. Howie sucks at that.

If only we had a coach and GM that could rebuild something.

And its market share.  The Giants are the draw in the NY market, so they always bring in more eye balls than say... Buffalo, no matter how good Buffalo is.   Chiefs-Bills would be a better matchup on the field, but Chiefs-Giants gets a larger TV viewership.

yup.  And they ran a fade against the big slow CB... and ignored Hopkins on the opposite side of the field.  Boneheaded plan, but that entire last sequence from the QB draw by Murray on was just horrific play calling.

Like I don’t have a problem if the Eagles want to go the route and not draft a quarterback if there’s not one there that they love or can’t acquire one that they love and then just build up the roster. That’s fine with me.

However this overboard we can’t draft a quarterback right now because we’re not ready and we need to build up the team but if there’s one there that the Eagles absolutely love and can acquire we still shouldn’t do it cause we’re not ready with the rebuild, that’s BS. If there’s a quarterback there that is obtainable that you love and think it’s your franchise quarterback for the next decade you go and get him. You don’t screw around. You go get the QB you love. That’s why they went and got Carson Wentz.

Whether it's from Lurie or Roseman or the coaches don't like to run, it boggles my mind how much they won't run the ball.  They just won a freaking SB doing that.

They were in a bad place with some bad contracts in 2015 as well; stuck with Demarco Murray, Byron Maxwell, Kiko Alonso and others.

I agree this time around the best option is a fresh perspective at GM.  If I had a crystal ball I would guess Howie gets 'reassigned' after 2022, and a new GM brings in a new coaching staff of their choosing.

If anyone wants to get some but not a huge amount, Wal Mart has been selling smaller pieces.  Not sure if that would be just down here or all Wal Marts.

Yup, it was me. I got mine at Costco, smallest one I found was 7lbs. I'll have to check Walmart out, wouldn't expect them to have cuts like that
