Which had nothing to do with him turning on his teammates, coaches, or fans. He turned on management and he was justified in doing so.

There were reports that he and Doug weren’t really talking at the end. He was reportedly resistant to coaching.

I wouldn’t necessarily say he turned on his teammates, but I don’t think it’s a stretch either. He very likely wanted out of the locker room too. It was a weird dynamic with Foles and the SB, and then the younger players gravitating toward Hurts. Not to mention the anonymous sources in the Philly Voice.

I don’t blame Wentz for wanting out, but the fact is, he is the one who ultimately wanted to end things. The Eagles tried to salvage things, but to Wentz the damage was done.

Turning on the fans definitely is nonsense.

I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying but I never understood why they didn’t try benching Wentz for a half or quarter and then putting him back in next game like Reid did with McNabb. The way they handled it, of course he’s going to think about leaving.

He thought about leaving when he was benched in-game against Green Bay.

Hurts has won us the same amount of games this year as Wentz did all of last year, and Hurts can barely play QB in the NFL.

Wentz deserved to get benched and lose his job.

I wonder what the Eagles record would be if the offense consisted of Hurts, Kelce, and 9 backups — as it was during a stretch of games last season.

Wentz beats the Jets and everyone talks about how great he is. He is better than Hurts, but we don’t know how successful he’d be here anyway. He needed a change of scenery.

I know that’s what came out but it was well after the season was over. Even if it’s true that’s when the feeling started. They had a chance to squash it if they truly wanted him back in 2021.

Agreed. Doug and Co. completely misread the situation. They thought he had to sit to get right, and it only reinforced Wentz’s belief that he needed out.

I said at the time that benching him felt like the end. With everything Wentz went through with injuries, Foles, the Super Bowl and then watching the team draft Hurts, it was only natural for him to check out.

The Eagles wanted him back, the problem was it was always going to be just one person that was going to survive between doug, howie and Carson. I said before the 2020 season that it felt like 2 of the 3 of Howie, doug and Carson were not gonna be back by the time the end of 2021 season. However i thought if the Eagles struggled in 2020 there was a chance doug would be gone because there were already rumors he wasn’t happy and didn’t care if he was fired. Add on that would be the 4th year out of 5 where the majority of the season the eagles offense was really underwhelming. I thought Carson would survive over howie though cause if they got to the end of 2021 and they didn’t start showing improvement from their young players and the team kept regressing that howie would be out. And they would keep Carson because he was their franchise quarterback.

Imo if the Eagles would’ve fired Howie Roseman and doug that Carson Wentz would still here. I don’t know if he’d ever be the same as he once was but he’d be here. I am kind of with manu that i think he needed out of Philadelphia with everything that happened to get himself back mentally to a right place. From the foles and super bowl to the leaked stories to concussion in the playoff game to hurts and benching it felt like there was just way too much. That said, imo Green Bay game solidified for himself that there was no coming back here next year unless doug and howie were gone. my personal belief is as soon they drafted Jalen hurts he didn’t really wanna play for doug and howie anymore and lost all faith/trust in both. He likely knew he couldn’t request a trade that soon after signing that extension nor would the eagles oblige to do it at that point in time. Over time it festered, he was unhappy and it messed with him. Once they got to the end of the year and even after they fired doug, he knew lurie was keeping howie and at that point he wanted no part in returning.

That would be the place I’d think has the best odds to get him. But i also see KC, GB, New Orleans as the other places.

I still am leaning towards we should have kept him. Not only was I irritated that he whined his way out but also that he got to pick his own destination despite being under contract and playing like crap.

I’d just let him be 3rd string for a season. F it.

What was he thinking when Hurts was benched against Washington?

Rams scoop him up and he balls out.

That’s gonna cost Maye some money.

I feel so bad for Maye. Gets drafted by the Jets. Plays well enough for a big contract, but Douglas won't play ball OR trade him. He's stuck...and gets hurt. Awful.

OBJ will have to go through waivers , so he will end up on some bottom feeder , and won’t be happy

Kinda at that point already.  Oline has been guys in and out all season. Some injuries elsewhere in offense too.

And let's not sit here and act like other players being out is why Wentz played bad last year.  He was complete dog crap and that was in him with his play.  Missing wide open guys constantly, turning the ball over like crazy and holding onto the ball way too long and refusing to throw the ball away and taking really bad sacks as a result.

I always get a chuckle out of people who don’t think OBJ is a problem to have on your team.  He clearly is.  At least LeBron got his wish; OBJ is "free”

Won’t make it to either on waiver wire.

I bought very low on OBJ in fantasy, really hoping he ends up in KC, GB or LV.

He's clearly a mega **** though, and there's reports that Browns teammates are saying he contributed nothing to the team dynamic.

Edit - what kind of world do we live in where the word d o u c h e is blocked? It's a medical device!

I don't think anybody claims Beckham off waivers. Why would a bottom feeding team take on his salary and problems? Especially when you know he's gonna be a giant pain in the ass if your team sucks already.

For what it's worth, I

The speed and

Taken at 59, I thought

he was a hell of a value,

especially considering he was highly

regarded as a potential first round prospect.

Supposedly, he will be released

at the end of the season

regardless of his career being in such an

early stage.

Maybe he can go

on to another team where he can

really showcase his skills

on a team with a good QB.  A

nice change of

scenery may be exactly what he needs.

well done

Probably "this management and coaching staff don't have a clue, can't wait to get out of here".

Why would a contender want him in their locker room ?

unless you got a Brady who can keep these trouble makers in-line , why take the chance of ruining a good thing ?

I don’t see him lasting too long. On waivers
