Also, Miami should claim OBJ for the chaos.

Some men just want to watch the Miami Dolphins burn.

Adding good players helps you become competitive

He's an expensive 29 year old player that has not been productive in his last 2 seasons.  He's not a good fit for bad team.  The only team he would be a sure upgrade on is Detroit but why on Earth would the GM think adding him would make sense.  No bad team is going to claim him.

You mean garbage time points?   Yes... he threw a miracle throw to Greg Ward after scrambling around and running... wait for it.... to his right.

Then the miracle of all miracles, Reagor is back for a punt and returns it for a touchdown after dropping it.

Against the Saints, with Taysom Hill, Hurts played the role of Wildcat QB, and the Saints D wasn't prepared for it.  But, he hardly played 'well' in that game, and even fumbled at a point in the game that the only job he had was to NOT fumble.  And he put up more points than a Taysom Hill led Saints offense that, for whatever reason, refused to run the ball with Hill.  They tried to make him a passer and it failed... miserably.

Wentz was bad last year.  Hurts wasn't better.    Hurts still isn't better and he's getting worse.  You seem to forget why Hurts lasted until the 2nd round and that most publications had him listed as a potential 3rd round pick.  He's not a passer.  He's a runner.

It wasn't just that.  I think his first past coming in was a deep shot down the left sideline to Reagor.  Point is he looked way better in his limited time against the Packers than Wentz did all game.

Hurts did play well against the Saints.  We would not have won that game with Wentz and how he was playing that season. Hurts was better than Wentz last season. The offense was more productive.  It is what it is.  Wentz was just horrendous last season, something people around here seem to either have short memories of or are trying to do some revisionist history on.

Wentz was dysfunctional but it's clear the dysfunction extended  to the coaching staff and front office. The problem is Howie manages up only to appease Lurie.  If we had a competent GM, they would have been concerned about fixing Wentz.  Hurts looked more athletic but he was fumbling a ton and not great passing the ball.  It was a crap show of an offense with Hurts last season.  Ultimately the question is whether Wentz is able to be an above average QB long-term vs. the Eagles ability to get an above average QB because Hurts is not that and doesn't appear to be headed in that direction.

The FO certainly holds a large share of blame how it all played out. That doesn't absolve Wentz and how putrid he was last season.  Everyone here can't wait to dump on Hurts at every opportunity but Wentz was far worse last season than Hurts has been this year.

At the end of the day Wentz no longer wanted to be here after last year and the years of this FO and ownership putting him in uncomfortable positions.  Would have been better to fire Roseman if that was his grievance with the team but when it was clear that wasn't going to happen then for the sake of the both the team and Wentz a trade had to happen.

Hurts is not an NFL starting quality QB.  Wentz is.  No revisionist history in those statements.

You don’t think Howie sees that and will make a move like that? He has shown different in the past. (Golden Tate) Except this time it costs him vet minimum and not a 3rd.

No reasonable poster in here thinks Wentz played well at all last year. Not a single one of us. He deserved to be benched. But Hurts was also bad. Both statements can and are true. Wentz looks WAYYYYY better this year than Hurts does.

Bottom line is Hurts isn't cut out for QB in this league. Why you continue to dig in your heels to defend the guy, despite the Mount Everest amount of proof against him, is mind boggling honestly.

He is upset about how many balls were being thrown his way , the majority of top teams are set at the receiver position

if I were the jags I would claim him

I'm so sure we don't take OBJ that I would delete my account here and never post or read the boards again. There is less than zero chance OBJ is signed here. Like that idiot RTK above, how people can even think this way is just mind boggling. Use some common sense man.

Yep, Wentz played poorly.  That is true.

Also, Hurts played poorly.  52% completions, 47% in the second half, and points on 2 of 22 second half possessions.  That is also true.

Imagine that, two things are true.

That might be where it stands now but the fact is that Wentz was playing so bad last season that Hurts as a 2nd round rookie did offer improvement at the position last season.

Hurts didn't play great last year but he was playing better than Wentz and the offense better with Hurts than Wentz last year.  That did occur.

I'm not digging my heals in about anything with Hurts. Wentz did not want to play here, he demanded a trade and the Eagles traded him.  He did not want to remain on this team.  He wanted out.  The Eagles did not trade a player that wanted to remain here. It is what it is.

Ahh the classic anyone who has a different opinion than me is a troll.  Not even sure what I'm saying that would be classified as provactive.  Maybe step outside your bubble sometime, you've probably been living like a shut in since March 2020 with your only interactions being in this blog.

Let's break this down once and for all for your pea brain. Hurts AND Wentz both sucked last year. BOTH. Who cares if Hurts was slightly better, they BOTH sucked huge donkey balls.

This year, Wentz is showing that he's a much better QB than he was last year. Hurts meanwhile, still sucks, a lot. Is that clear enough for you?

Sadly I'd take Wentz over Hurts going fwd.   Not my ideal mind you, but if I had to choose between the 2?
