You make it sound fun, maybe I'll start with percussion caps.

There's no harm in taking lots of different medicine doesn't mean I'm going to start popping random meds like candy in an attempt to treat something that that medicine wasn't designed to treat.

Ivermectin is used to treat parasites, originally in livestock then humans and it's shown to be very effective at doing that, might ivermectin be useful against covid, maybe, there isn't any scientific evidence get to show that it dies and rather than taking it upon my self to be my own medical trial I'll leave it to the professionals to run those and wait for results before I start eating invermectin because why not.???

The bolded is all I had to read.  It was suggested by a doctor, and he didn't start popping random meds.  But, the professionals that run those tests... guess what they do?  They give real patients the drugs and then observe the outcomes.  In other words, these studies you want to wait for, have to be done ON someone.  So, you don't want to be the person it is tested on.  That's fine too, but why make fun of someone who did test it?   In college, my roommates made a little extra money being used to test different things... someone has to be the guinea pig eventually.

That's cool I'm not Joe Rogan nor is Joe Rogans DR. my Dr so I don't really make medical decisions based off what Joe Rogans Dr  told Joe Rogan to do

I talk to my own Dr and my wife and my sister in law who is a medical professional I trust and make medical decisions accordingly.

You don't have to, but why laugh at him, because he listened to his doctor?  Try to open your mind... that's why people get 'second opinions'.  Doctors have different opinions.

Just throwing this out there as useful knowledge.  My boxer just tore his ACL.  He's a 7 year old dog.  They gave me 2 medications for the time being.  One for inflammation and one for pain.

The first thing they told me is that these medications are for humans but can also be used for dogs.

Same goes for Ivermectin, see below.  It's a human medication.  As a matter of fact, the 2 scientists who discovered the medication were awarded the Nobel Prize based on it's effectiveness against parasitic diseases.  None of this has to do with Covid, but it 100% debunks anyone saying that a person taking it is taking horse medication.  Anyone taking it is taking a 100% effective medication for humans based on some reports that it might help with Covid symptoms.  It isn't a cure for Covid.  Joe Rogan made that clear.  I'd advise people who bash Joe Rogan to give a chance and listen to him.  IMO, he's about as real as it gets as a Libertarian and explores answers from any direction.  It's refreshing to listen to.

Ivermectin is an anti-parasite medication used to treat parasitic diseases.

Ivermectin is an FDA approved drug for use in humans to treat a variety of parasitic infections including parasitic worms, hookworm and whipworm. It may also be used as an effective treatment for a wide range of other conditions and as a treatment of onchocerciasis, intestinal strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis or river blindness.

Sorry about your dog hopefully they fix him up to where he can still have a good quality of life.

I've had boxers in the past have a boxer mix currently, they are great fun dogs but their hyper activity and hyper athleticism combined with their natural clumsiness lends to injury.

Hope your dog heals up quick.

I don’t really get caught up about who’s vaccinated and who isn’t. I’ve been double-dosed, same with my family and most of my friends. If someone tells me they aren’t or they don’t want to get it, I don’t get up in arms and shame them.

But what I do find funny is that some people out there, Rodgers included apparently, take Joe F’n Rogan as some chief medical head. The guy was commentating people eating bull testicles and worms on Fear Factor 15 years ago, but all of the sudden he’s some head medical advice savant because he has some quack doctors on his podcast. That guy’s influence is alarming and his following is incredible. That’s the scary part in all of this.

My first lesson, if you use powder instead of the pellets let’s say for hunting, Do not reload quickly, lol.   Thought I was Davy Crockett but 1/2 the powder burned up going back in.  Then it’s sorta of guess on how much more you need, that’s no fun.  Leaves a nice hole though, and way more accurate than my shotgun out to 115 yards.

But if you’re looking for recoil, not much beats a 10 gauge.

I would. He is a top 10 QB....

I think some of you are wandering off the beaten path on the Ivermectin discourse.  The issue isn't whether it's safe for humans or not.  The issue is Rodgers, who has always been a petulant selfish person and teammate, is also stupid enough to forego proven-effective vaccines in favor of following the anecdotal advice of one person -- Joe "DMT" Rogan, who is completely unqualified to give any medical advice.

Unvaccinated people are contagious for a longer period of time -- their irresponsibility and stupidity is making other people sick, and in some cases causing death in others.  If Rodgers is so concerned about the ingredients in the vaccines ask him to name 3 ingredients in his toothpaste -- and phrase it in the form of a question.

I didn't laugh at Rogan I just answered a question.

If my Dr. Said I should take ivermectin to combat covid I'd tell her there is zero evidence to suggest it does anything to combat covid, if I had a parasite and my doc said take ivermectin I'd say ok!

If my dog said we don't know if ivermectin does anything against covid but would you be willing to try and let us know, I'd say no thanks I have no interest in being a guinea pig, get Joe Rogan and let me know how it goes in a few months if it works sign me up

I think that's where a lot of people are with the vaccine, in the wait and see approach, not for it's effecacy but the long term side effects.

For me I'm immuno suppressed, the benefits of the vaccine for me outweighed the risks of it.

I'm not sure about booster yet nor am I sure yet about getting my young kids vaccinated.

We'll see, I'm not a fan of mandates but I'm a fan of personal and societal responsibility and I think the more that are vaccinated the better chance we have as a society to manage covid.

If invermectin turns out to be a piece of that then great but so far the evidence suggests it's not

He says himself not to take his advice, he’s not a doctor.

For the record though, he’s had very respected doctors on his podcasts. He had Peter Hotez on his show who’s one of the leading vaccine voices in the country. Also had Nick Christakis on twice and Sanjay Gupta on.

A reason why I like his show is because he has no agenda, he just wants to hear a wide range of opinions and make a decision for himself as to what makes the most sense. I always respect someone who isn’t close minded, even if I disagree on them opinions they end up landing on.

The funny thing about Ivermectin is when people disingenuously referred to it as "horse dewormer" it won a nobel prize for treating humans. Not for COVID, although some small studies showed it had some type of effectiveness, and larger studies showed it didn't very much. But the media outlets knew Ivermectin has been used to treat humans and is totally safe, but they wanted to frame it to make Rogan look bad. And they also lied about emergency rooms across the country being overloaded with people taking Ivermectin. That was looked into and it turned out to be a total lie.

Because of his popularity, both the left and the right use Rogan as a tool to promote their agenda. It's really sad.

Ivermectin is a great drug... for what it treats. And it's very safe in human doses. It's not been proven to treat COVID. There is no perfect treatment for once you get it and have bad symptoms. So far, the most effective has been the monoclonal antibodies, but they're expensive. Coincidentally today, Pfizer said they have a drug in pull form that is 90% effective to treat symptoms once you get it.

The reason people make fun of it is because of the people that take it instead of the vaccine.  The vaccine is well tested, effective and safe. People who feed off of stupidity like Rogan and others claim to eschew the vaccine and rally behind the medication.  Why? there's no reason to suggest the medication is better than the vaccine, it's because they saw some bs social media post about it working.  It has potential side effects like any drug.  Some of it's side-effects are considered neurologically serious.  Not only that people are taking it instead of a vaccine and still dying.

I don't think anyone would make fun of doctors or people using it if they were also doing the other things that are scientifically proven and safe to help prevent serious illness from the disease.

My friend signed up for a drug trial in college they paid him a couple hundred bucks, the experimental medicine damaged his liver, his medical bills were more than that couple hundred bucks

Good for those willing to out their health on the line for medical science, I'm not one if those people, they can have my organs when I'm dead, my family needs me to have them while I'm still kickin

Interesting, they were able to get off 3-6 shots/minute in the olden days... obviously not precision shooting.  Davy had that 6 barrel gun, according to the movies - obviously ran into that problem you're talking about.

Rogan is not an ivermectin advocate. His doctor gave it to him as a treatment for the vaccine, but he's never actively promoted ivermectin or implored anyone to take it. He's spoken highly of monoclonal antibodies, though. Which not everyone can afford obviously.

I agree that taking that drug instead of the vaccine is dumb.

Rogan has also told people to take the vaccine. He's not an anti-vaxer. The only thing he's ever said that could remotely be considered "anti-vax" is he doesn't think young healthy teens with no co-morbidities need it. That's it. He says if you want the vaccine, you should get it. If you are unhealthy or obese or old, or worried about it even if you're healthy, then you should get it. He's said this countless times.

The problem is, the media will ignore that, take 20 second snippets out of context in a 3 hour conversation where he says something like "But young people aren't at high risk for COVID" and go SEE, ANTI-VAXER! And then people share it on social media not having heard what he actually said. But as someone who listens to the show and has heard word for word what he's said, the media lies a lot about what he's said.

Appreciate it.  He's doing surprisingly well.  Not sure if it was just partial or the meds actually helping but something is working.  Boxers are great dogs.  I never knew how friendly and goofy they were.  He's such a people lover and lap dog, just wants to be as close as possible.

The issue I need to fix before his knee are his gums.  They've grown out over his teeth and need to get them cut back.
