QBs Id like to draft, maybe, but prefer all D.

1. Strong -latest 1st round pick

2. Pickett- 2nd round

3. Corrall- 3rd round

Anyone else on the Aqeel Glass train yet?

Desmond Ridder round 3 please 🙂

I added him to the round 2 tier.

I wonder what round Glass will go.

PSU is so fast on D , I like Brisker a lot ,  he along with Hill and Joseph make up my favorite 3 safeties

Strong armed QBs are like fast WRs, bad scouts and fans fall in love with them and don't understand why most fail.

Nick Cross flying around out there , coming up from the secondary , making tackle after tackle , closes fast .

Kinda like your love of Howie and the current Eagles offense

Weak armed QBs are like slow WRs, bad scouts and fans try to compare them to the outliers from the past and don't understand why most fail.

Incidentally, most successful QBs have "strong" arms.  The successful ones have more going for them than just their arm, just as most successful WRs are "fast", but have other elements to their game that help them be successful.

Because those are traits you can’t coach.

Willis is on a different stratosphere in terms of arm talent and should be a tick or two faster, so I don’t agree with that one.

What do folks think of the other two comps?

Baker Mayfield has a BIG arm; flicks it out there 60 yards without full effort and good velocity on shorter throws.  Not as big as Josh Allen or Zach Wilson, but quite underrated.

I haven’t watched much Howell; he plays somewhat like Mayfield but not as talented at all.  Mayfield’s drawbacks in addition to height are between the ears.

Repeat after me, Eagles are 13 in ppg, despite all the ups and downs of the first 8 games.

They may finish the season in the top 10, if the OL jells, Sirianni uses more play action off a top rushing game, and Hurts settles in behind more consistent pass blocking.

If they had an above average defense (we'll see how they progress the second half), they'd be a legitimate playoff team even with Hurts at QB. Because his running ability adds a dimension that allows you to be patient with his slow development, much like Lamar, who he is similar in his impact on the offense.

Hurts  73  432  5 TDs

Lamar 76  480  2 TDs (7 games)

While you worry about most running QBs, how many hard hits has Hurts taken as a runner? Fewer than in the pocket, and far fewer than Wentz did. That's b/c Hurts has good instincts in the open field, is build like a power back (strong and squat), and he doesn't have an upright running style like most QBs.

Yes, they could upgrade, but given the whole package, they could also downgrade just as easily with a 1st rd QB, especially in this draft.

I know you are closer to NJ and that they legalized pot, but I didn’t think they had developed sales yet.  Wicked weed you are smoking including meaningless fourth quarter stats in you statistic based evaluation and concluding they are a playoff level team.

My brother is a lifelong Chiefs fan and made a bold prediction today — Browns will make the playoffs now that OBJ is gone, AND …. if the Chiefs pick up OBJ they will MISS the playoffs 😂

Unfortunately, you can't coach some other traits either. Like work ethic.

The problem this year is teams will reach, like most seasons, even when they know better.

Thank god we've never done that before.

What I conclude is the offense isn't a train wreck, and it has the potential to be much better by the end of the season.

It's not a matter of Hurts becoming a great passer, he just has to be adequate, because he really is an elite runner for a QB, he's not as fast as Lamar, but much more powerful.

And the OL has the potential to be elite, even without Brooks, and if Brooks returns, watch out. Dickerson is still learning on the job, but he's a legitimate road grader, as is Mailata. The biggest weakness has been inconsistent pass blocking, but establishing the run will help there, as will reps for the left side.

The guy I'm watching the next couple weeks is Jackson, he could be the big possession WR/H-back they need to balance out this group, excellent athlete at 6'7 and as a former QB, understands route running.

The second half schedule is much easier, if the defense picks it up a notch they have a legitimate shot at the playoffs. Which at the least is a good developmental experience.

Last year, with Wentz, they scored 334 points, 20.9 per game.  That was against the Cowboys (2) 28th in ppg, Cle 21st, Cin 22nd, . They played the five top defenses in the Rams, Steeler, Ravens, Saints, WFT (2), and NYG (2) 9th. So it was skewed down a bit by a tough schedule.

Have you ever coached before?? If you don’t think a player’s respect for their coach(es) effects their work ethic then you live in a different world.

Locksley has terps improving , he recruits the hell out of that Delmarva area

3 of Top 4, Yes.

If they're smart, they'll put Derwin James on Goedert, Harris on our WR #2 and double Smith. That still leaves 6 for them. If our WR #2 can win the matchup, we should score a ton. If not, it could be a long day.

Harris on Ward would be a valid matchup but on Watkins, he is toast. Who do they double up on Smith?  Smith and Adderly?

I’m extremely hopeful the Lions fall in love with Matt Corral during the draft process

Ridder with another poor game , he is another QB I done see it with , needs so much work .

Respect and fear and, eventually, trust.
