Nick Cross flying around out there , coming up from the secondary , making tackle after tackle , closes fast .

Sounds really good. Does he read his keys? I mean, does he commit too soon or on time?

Ridder with another poor game , he is another QB I done see it with , needs so much work .

IMO  no QB that will be available in the 2022 draft is worth a 1st round pick. with that said this team doesn't need to waste trading picks for a QB in the NFL either , build this squad with the draft next year then find your QB in 2023 and keep adding youth and talent.

What I conclude is the offense isn't a train wreck, and it has the potential to be much better by the end of the season.

It's not a matter of Hurts becoming a great passer, he just has to be adequate, because he really is an elite runner for a QB, he's not as fast as Lamar, but much more powerful.

And the OL has the potential to be elite, even without Brooks, and if Brooks returns, watch out. Dickerson is still learning on the job, but he's a legitimate road grader, as is Mailata. The biggest weakness has been inconsistent pass blocking, but establishing the run will help there, as will reps for the left side.

The guy I'm watching the next couple weeks is Jackson, he could be the big possession WR/H-back they need to balance out this group, excellent athlete at 6'7 and as a former QB, understands route running.

The second half schedule is much easier, if the defense picks it up a notch they have a legitimate shot at the playoffs. Which at the least is a good developmental experience.

Last year, with Wentz, they scored 334 points, 20.9 per game.  That was against the Cowboys (2) 28th in ppg, Cle 21st, Cin 22nd, . They played the five top defenses in the Rams, Steeler, Ravens, Saints, WFT (2), and NYG (2) 9th. So it was skewed down a bit by a tough schedule.

Or...we game plan well, come out guns a-blazing. The the other team adjusts and we do nothing for two quarters. Finally, Hurts plays hero ball and we put up a few scores. We only look better after our first possession when the other team goes to a soft zone.

Looks smooth , arrives on time , wraps you up too , doesn’t go for a kill shot , very sound

What I like about the leach offense is the layers that allow quick reads.   I do think some vertical is necessary to keep the defense honest and the layering that Leach uses allows for a quick glance to multiple receivers.  Hurts absolutely needs to spread the field horizontally but that may be a work in progress from Sirianni.  I noticed more crossing routes in the last couple of weeks.  I suspect we will see more middle routes to TEs until the Eagles get a taller WR. I would love to see if Jackson can play because a shorter QB can see a TE like Jackson anywhere on the field.

I understand the differences between Air Raid and Run n Shoot.  What I was commenting on is the reading similarities between RPO and Run ‘n Shoot., although there can be some aspects of WR reads in a WCO or Air Raid.  Gilbride tried to incorporate those with the giants when he was there with mixed levels of success.

What I think I am seeing with Sirianni is incrementalism in how he is adding pieces to the offense.

As for the difference, I know that you know, it was more of a rant on my part. As far as Hurts is concerned, hopefully Siriani is expanding that way, he’s not Mahomes arm strength wise but he definitely has enough arm.  Hopefully he gets more confidence with his throws and starts responding better to pressure.  The stopwatch as you said is a good idea, and possibly a circle drawn behind center where he can’t leave.
Funny you mentioned taller WR’s, K Johnson was asked whether he’d like K. Murray or Josh Allen throwing him passes and he said Allen because on short routes if he had to look back and find the QB, the short ones would get lost in a crowd vs guys 6’4” and up were obviously much easier to locate.

Pick up JJAW next

Terps /PS is a good one

Heck of a call for  2 point conversion

Like to say my alma mater the powerhouse that is Arizona football broke a 20 game losing streak against Cal today. There’s hope for the eagles tomorrow

The funny thing with the media and Aaron Rodgers is they spent the entire spring/summer complaining that he doesn't talk enough to the media.

Now he's doing it, they are all sucking wind because he is saying stuff they don't agree with and they are collectively calling him irresponsible.

And media wonder why some players just don't bother with them

Agree with you on the Portugal Model.  Treat people like patients instead of like criminals.  But one of the major sources of revenue for this country is incarcerated citizens, which is one of 3 categories we lead the World in (along with number of adults who believe angles are real and defense spending).  The prison system is business for this nation and everything about this country is driven by the almighty dollar.  Europe again shows the way to something different and more productive, but we fail.

Pot should be legal nation wide.  It has negative connotations from the 50s being a 'black' drug, aka 'reefer madness'.  And no, I don't see it as a 'gateway drug' either.  Most of the people I know who smoke or otherwise ingest Mary Jane on a regular basis don't really indulge in other drugs.  That's more than enough for them.

Just like how in Europe sports betting is part of their sports (multiple English Premier League clubs have sports betting houses as their sponsor written across their 'kits'/ aka jerseys) and they even show odds during halftime, the more you decriminalize it here the better.  It doesn't hurt the EPL or EUFA model and they have commercials promoting betting both pre game an during HT.

Break Out Another Thousand.

Funnily enough, there is talk from our Govt to step back from the some the betting company advertising on stadiums and shirts as they are concerned about the effect of being shown betting so much. The issue is the Govt a lot of opinions on stuff, but rarely get around to doing anything about it unless the PMs wife wants it

All that talent on both sides of the ball for PS , there should be no reason they lose more than one game . I’m looking at you Franklin

Oooofffff ….. 😂😂

Damn looks like Purdue has a real good shot of knocking off number 3

Chandler Morris stepped in today for TCU , and is having a big day

The Astroworld/Travis scott stuff is insane. He was arrested for starting a riot and 8 people died. The videos and stories from people are sad.

David Bell is good. He's going to be projected as a 2nd rounder in a ton of mocks.

@LeanMeanGM

Birds 23

Chargers 31

BONUS - MInshew plays again.

Spartans are done , won’t be ranked 3rd after today , that said Brohm is a hell of a coach , and paid accordingly , just under 6million , puts him around 15 highest paid HCs

Now this is the kind of post that allows you to become a "pillar” of the Blog.  Way to go fella.

JR said AFan was a "pillar” of the Blog.   Some people take this place way too seriously.  I thought it was a silly choice of words.

oh ok.

I would like to see everyone's pillars. Would people have 3, 4, 5, 7? Lets see them.

Im going:

JR, I_P, BigE, greend, afan, Manu, veejer

Those are mainly the guys who I think have been posting in the blog longer than me, and are still here. I think there may be 7 pillars. But I could be forgetting someone (and am purposely leaving matwill out because he doesnt post now).

I joined these boards  2004

TCU with the pick

Carson Strong or Pickett if we're destined to draft someone.

Zero interest in anyone else. Maybe, MAYBE Corral.
