Bavaro was just past his prime, the expectations for him were low if I recall.

Former Eagles playing well for division rivals.  Our old pal DeAndre Carter had a 101 yard KO return TD earlier in the year.  Meanwhile, Hightower can't get to the 20.

Next you will say the Eagles let a good LB go. :-)

Eagles' kick returner options have been really strange. Quez and Hightower have atypical body types for that role. Reagor has the ideal body type for that role.

Yup hightower and Quez both have pretty slight frames, and neither are guys that are going to break tackles not are either super shifty, they both have good straight line speed that's it

Reagor meanwhile  has good speed a bit more bulk and a little more wiggle than hightower.

Im guessing with reagors ankle maybe they were being cautious.

I'd hope they'd put him back there  cuz Quez and hightower aren't getting it done.

Yes exactly, and somebody pointed out no talk about Saquon who also tested positive. But Saquon is vaxxed, and was quiet about it. Of course Rodgers is the lead story, it's by far the most interesting.

What is there to say?  Saquon got the vaccine, and is under the league's policy for vaccinated players who test positive... two negatives and he's back with the team, exactly the same as Goedert was with the Eagles.    Rodgers has a lot of open questions still circulating around, not limited to but including what ramifications does he/the team face for failure to abide by the policy put in place by the league and agreed to by the NFLPA?

How do folks grade Davion Taylor's play yesterday?  He made 8 tackles, a couple of good solid form hits, made some decent plays playing downhill but also got pancaked by the OG on a 10-yard gain on a running play and missed on a couple of angles as well.

He looks more suited as an OLB than a MLB to me -- but resembling an NFL LB at all at least shows some development.

He looked like he had a clue on some plays and looked lost on some others.  That's improvement, he used to look lost on almost every play.

No one made Aaron Rodgers go on Pat McAfee’s show and make an arse out of himself for 20 minutes or whatever it was. He tried to control the narrative, and got exposed even worse.

Yes agree completely, it was a stupid comparison.

Nah, but Carter has surprisingly hung around the league as a decent returner.  He's averaging nearly 10 yards on PR for his career and 23 on KOR.

To put that in perspective, Greg Ward averaged 5 yards per PR for the Eagles.

As a WR, for his career, he has 43 catches for 527 yards with 1 TD averaging over 12 ypc.   This year he's 9 for 141, 1 TD averaging nearly 16 ypc.

JJAW has 14 catches for 254 yards and 1 TD for his career.  This year...0 catches.

Not saying it was a mistake letting him go but he's producing in the roles he's been asked on the teams he's played for.

I don't understand why Reagor hasn't been used.  I am assuming they have considered it and tried it since he returns punts.

Just saw a headline that read "Is Kamaru Usman the best male fighter on the planet?”

Does whoever wrote that think there might be some chicks who can beat him up?

Nunes has a lot of say for the best on the planet IMO.

Somehow worse than our 2020 draft.

Aiyuk hasn't done much this year because for some reason Shanahan hasn't wanted to play him.

Eagles' best player this year has been Arryn Siposs... change my mind.

Hmm.

Hargrave, Slay & Kelce should all make the Pro Bowl.

He said it’s because of poor practice habits.

Lots of players on this list who should pique the Eagles’ interest.

This thought has crossed my mind too. Think it's evident with the 700 developmental CBs that they're not going to knee jerk fire him. Just wish he would freaking adjust to what he has this season.

Safeties and LBs galore next offseason, in my opinion. Among LBs, I expect a 3-4 edge type who can rush and cover. The persistence with Avery suggests Gannon highly values that role.

What does he have? Avery at SAM?  I was floored he played and then I saw his snap count.  I would bet a large portion of the "blitzes” was bringing Avery as a fifth rusher. Ineffective to say the least. He has Johnson as back up SAM, who will be here next year.  Play him instead. Bench Harris and play Epps and Wallace with McLeod.  How bad is Wallace that he saw only ST snaps. Right now, Howie’s day three is looking pretty weak on D.  I recognize the sixth and seventh rounders are just that but then he goes and trades for day three CBs I was asking for that he could have had instead.

Nunes most dominant? I think khabib says otherwise , don’t get more dominant than 0 losses , Jon Jones was more dominant ,  GSP , she would be lucky to crack top 5

Khabib is retired.  Jones was dominant on a cocktail of steroids, cocaine and alcohol.  GSP is long past retired as well. Nunes is the most dominant fighter on the planet IMO.  Usman isn't far behind or possibly step for step with her.

Did anyone watch the game on Saturday? I tuned in just for Thibodeaux and was underwhelmed.

Avery plays a ton against two TE sets. I don’t think he’s played well, but I don’t think he’s played so poorly that he should be benched either. He’s not Eric Wilson.

Khamzat Chimaev is the future. Everyone is afraid of his takedowns, but he also has one punch knockout power. Talk about dominant. That guy has been terrifying.

I think he played essentially OLB but he's playing in mostly a nickel scheme.  He looked OK.  He didn't look lost.  He had one nice tackle where he made a great read and got to the receiver before he could get out of the backfield. I don't think he's reached a level of competent starter but he doesn't look lost.  I think he has played the run much better.  I think he's benefited from the playing time.  I could see him becoming an above average starter but I don't think he's going to be elite.

So yesterday was basically the offense I had envisioned going into the season. Hurts, although flawed as a thrower, extending drives with his legs. Solid Oline play. Smith and Goedert as key weapons.

This formula could win several games before the season is over.

Progress is good, I think that's more of a statement about the coaching staff (on the offensive side of the ball).  I'm on the fence if I want to see some wins or not.  I want Howie gone.  Hurts had his best game of his career yesterday and it was average to slightly above average IMO.  I'd like to see him get broken of his tendency to drop his eyes when he breaks the pocket and continue to look for an outlet instead of his running lane.

could be a strange concept, but, he's a wr who cant get open, and cant run a route. Apparently that hinders your PT as a wide reciever.

Zach Berman touched on this during his morning call and basically said, the effort thats needed to get him the ball isnt worth the juice. Meaning, they need to give him his own routes and own special plays which are netting enough gains to make it worth it.

He went on to say that We will most likely see Quez out snap him from here on out

I think they should continue to use him as a runner.  I don't mind plays that scheme someone open. I don't think WR screens are necessarily bad.  He also can create matchup problems out of the slot.  The issue is in a low volume passing offense his targets are going to be limited. Quez has played better and looks to be a better route runner at this point.  I don't think that means Reagor is worthless as a WR.

Very good points.  I think Johnson has flashed some in the position. I think he played some 3 safety looks with Epps, Harris and McLeod.  I don't mind pairing Epps with a veteran like Harris of McLeod because it probably helps their development. I would like to see Wallace get on the field more.

Has anyone touched on it yet how the defense would play much better if Minshew was in at QB instead of Hurts?

Dickerson was opening some holes yesterday. I think he’s starting to come on, which isn’t a surprise since he’s getting more comfortable after missing most of the offseason and camp, and we’re running the hell out of the ball.

I tested positive for covid back in May 2020. At the time I was working remotely and felt like crap for 2 or 3 days. Had back surgery twice between then and now...once in Jul 2020 and again in Nov 2020. Had to be tested both times and both tests were negative. I got the pfizer vaccine Sep 2021, both doses.

FFW to today...had a medium cold for a couple days last week and job made me take a covid test. Just got results back this morning and I'm positive again. WTF
