Hurts made the big plays with the game on the line. Can't ask much more from a young QB.

Siri asked too much of him early, and I think misunderstood his college experience, Hurts is not good at the RPO, or even the run option, he's actually best as a pocket QB in a balanced scheme who can use his legs to buy time and make big plays (and force teams to spy, opening up the field for his receivers). He needs time to develop as a NFL QB, but gee, you can say that for practically any college QB these days. 4 schemes in 4 years, give him a chance to actually master one.

As far as arm strength, look at some of those throws when he sets his feet, he's not going to make the jaw dropping off balance "all arm" throw, but neither could Brees et al. He needs to speed up his recognition and perfect his mechanics, but when he does, he has more than an adequate arm, he's not Tebow or the Detmer brothers.

Hurts' running ability gives you the option of letting him win games with athleticism while he learns on the job.

With a top ten defense, he could easily carry this team to 10+ wins running this current offense behind an improving OL. Grind out the wins but he can handle the pressure of close games.

Get deep into the playoffs? Hurts would have to take it up a notch, the OL a notch, add a big WR and have Jackson emerge as a dangerous H-back.

But the odds of drafting a franchise QB (even at #1/#2 it's probably no more than 20%, after that, #3-15, maybe 10%?) are so low they're better off seeing how far Hurts can progress and building a team. Or do you want to use a high first, and if you're lucky, after 3 more years of struggling with bad QB play, end up with someone like Wentz circa 2018-2019).

There not discussing anything. Theyre bashing. And you could bash Ruggs for just as long.

Zero people defended Ruggs for what he did. So there is no one to convince otherwise and that’s where the conversation ends. People are defending Rodgers and that’s where the debate/bashing comes in. There is nothing to debate with the Ruggs story.

Ruggs should call into the Pat McAfee show and defend himself.

Hurts is still the guy who had like 4 completions at half time. He has 1 or 2 good drives a game, but he is what he is. A run first QB.

Hargrave, Slay & Kelce should all make the Pro Bowl.

Siposs has been better than all 3.  You haven't changed my mind.

Absolutely shocked that a story about one of the country's highest profile athletes, controversial plague treatments, and butthole tanning is getting such attention.

Merrill Reese is about to pull out his Jalen Hurts combine velocity numbers again to prove he has a great arm.

Was the most pro like performance from hurts to date, he had a few plays where he stayed in the pocket climbed the pocket and delivered the ball accurately and on time and actually to the left.

Still left alot to be desired as a passer but I'll give credit where credit is due on the handful of plays he looked like a pro QB.

Ha! Deshaun Watson fell in the draft because of those low velocity numbers too.

Dickerson was opening some holes yesterday. I think he’s starting to come on, which isn’t a surprise since he’s getting more comfortable after missing most of the offseason and camp, and we’re running the hell out of the ball.

Agreed.  The biggest question on Dickerson remains... can he stay healthy?   That won't be answered for a few years.  But, he's playing at the level he was drafted to play.  If he can stay on the field at this level, it was a good pick.   Still not happy with the pick at that spot, but can't argue against the player.

Meanwhile, it wasn't fun watching Adderley play against the Eagles yesterday.  He was the guy I wanted in Round 2 instead of JJAW in 2019.  Adding him instead of JJAW would likely mean we'd have one less issue on defense.

I know we have goo goo eyes for our 3 first round picks, but the prospect of Wilson with DeVonta/Goedert/Watkins/our RB group coupled with this young and talented O-Line is becoming increasingly enticing.

How does the prospect of 11 scrubs on defense and going 4-13, losing games 45-33 every week look?

Come on.  You really think this team has that talent level.   The DL isn’t deep and the best players are dinged up, our best LBs are Edwards, Taylor and Singleton.   Sure we have Slay but Nelson is a liability and we had Chachere playing nickel a good part of the game and McPhearson in for Slay, although interestingly Herbert continued to target the zone holes around the LBs and Nelson.

Gannon is struggling in that his zone is way to soft.  He is playing way too much of it.  I think that goes to lacking speed at S.  Really the only speed in the secondary is Slay.  Nelson, Maddox, McPhearson, Epps and Wallace are all 4.53+ guys. I agree with AFan that I doubt Harris and McLeod can break 4.6:at this point in their careers and Howie’s incompetence and ignoring of the S position has come home to roost. Whatever template he has for drafting a S is out the window.   I find it interesting that all these young DBs he has traded for have a common trait.  Speed.  I am convinced that Gannon needs speed for his secondary to work, especially at S.

Now, one thing that is not working is the trying to strip the ball rather than stop the receiver and tackle first.  Needs to fix that.

I am not ready to throw out Gannon.   I think we are looking at a McDermott situation where the talent on the D was for a different DC and we need to give Gannon this next draft to see what he can build.

It’s not NFL historically bad talent.

Worse than Castillo on all levels.

He’s not wrong saying the passing game is limited. He’s wrong about blaming that more or equal to the defense.

Yep, that was an amazing defense.  RIP Mike.

I couldn't watch the game yesterday because of kid stuffs.  Offensive progress sounds encouraging - I've been pretty critical of Siri, but it sounds like he's making some adjustments and figuring things out.

I'm really disappointed in our supposedly great D-line.  0 sacks yesterday?

That would certainly fix our secondary.  Now, if we fire Gannon we will be in good shape!
