Idk broncos lose anyone yesterday? cause next week got surtain, fuller and Darby. That’s a massive upgrade from what the chargers were running out there yesterday. Really Chris Harris was the only starter type guy out there for the chargers and Campbell was playing with a groin injury.

They’re down Vincent and McCain.

Massive pickups by the eagles. Not sure how the broncos get through that lol

Nope.  Gives me a chance to articulate my frustrations with the team in a relevant way, not just random musings.

Can you imagine.....

Thibodeaux with the Miami pick

Jordan Davis with the Eagles pick

Hutchinson with the Colts pick.

Would be nice.
We just need all that plus a first round CB like Elam, 2 late first to early second round LB's in say Lloyd & Dean, a pair of late first to early second round safeties in say Hill & Joseph. This team needs so much it's sickening.

Not sure if they would take Davis as he will be 27 before he's even drafted.

It’s not NFL historically bad talent.

Worse than Castillo on all levels.

jesus, we are at 75% completion % on the season!? how is this guy still here!?

A debate with Afan? Pretty easy pickings.

More importantly, are we going to stop their running game?

I assume the defense likely gets burnt with how we are playing schematically. At this point i don’t trust the defense week to week to make the adjustments.

i am more curious to see if the eagles offense is able to do anything against the broncos in the passing game. The eagles were fortunate the chargers were down their two top corners. I’m not sure smith goes off for 116 yards if Samuel and Davis out there. The broncos trio of corners did an outstanding job yesterday against lamb and cooper. Surtain against smith should be a fun matchup.

That’s a NFL record. Worse of all time.

Castillo to DC is over blown by this fan base

Guy played LB in college and the USFL coached defense at Kingsville.

When Reid was hired Juan was a TE coach and asked Reid to give him a shot at OL and Reid did and he became one of the best OL coaches in the league.

To think he could go from OL to Defense when he was originally a LB isn't the big stretch it's made out to be and he did better with the same talent than McDermott and bowels did, both of whom are lifelong defensive coaches.

I'll always stick up for Juan not only is he a hard working good honest human he was a heck of a coach whatever he was doing and still is.

you dont know what you have until you dont have it anymore...i think the majority would love to have juan back over this dumpster fire

ESP also insinuated that we might be "buyers" at the trade deadline and maybe target another WR.......to help the passing game.

So yeah.

I'll break something.  Smith is open nearly every play.  We don't need a receiver.  We need a QB with vision and an arm.  I am getting angry just thinking about this.

If he had acknowledged that missed pass to Goedert in that tweet, would it really change anything about what he said?

Break his tweet down line by line. It doesn’t say he played perfectly. It said he played as he expected he would coming into the season. And he ripped comebacks (which he wasn’t before).

He continues to analyze through rose colored lenses, thats my issue.  If this is how it was expected that hed play, he wouldn't be the starter.

They ran that offense in spite of Hurts and that's been clear for 2 weeks now, as Sirianni has had to take a giant step back and gameplan around his obvious weaknesses and limit what we do in the passing game.  If only we could play Detroit every week.

I remember telling myself he had basically 2 NFL level throws all game, the sideline comeback to Smith and I cant remember the other.   He had more misses than makes.

This is why I said a few weeks ago that we're not the Philadelphia Hurts, we're the Eagles.  They need to look at their mission statement before we send this entire season down the tubes.    The goal is to win, not to develop Hurts.

But you get the feeling now that more emphasis is placed on the latter instead of the former.

Reagor got 1 target yesterday and the play was dead in the water.  Quez got 3 targets and I think one landed out of bounds.

Meanwhile, Boston Scott and Hurts get 10 carries a piece and Jordan Howard got 17.

What are we doing???

I don’t disagree with the second part. But i do think they need another WR besides smith. Watkins is a good 3rd WR. But reagor isn’t good and doesn’t seem to be turning any corner. I don’t think it’s a pressing issue though. The eagles have much bigger concerns at the moment they need to identify. Sadly the eagles blew 2 top picks on reagor and JJAW. I actually think if they add a WR it’s going to be a veteran.

Plan would be to roll with Minshew as the starting QB, and find a team to trade for Hurts because they think that they can make something of him.  Minshew starts, Jurkovec is the backup, and you take your lumps with the running game.    Overdrafted Linderbaum... but happy to do it to have someone to take the baton from Kelce, and leave Dickerson at LG.  Triple dipped at the EDGE, but couldn't pass up an OSU DE.  They are just historically productive players in the NFL... not all, but many.

Love getting Ferguson at TE that late.  He's what we hope Stoll or Jackson could become.  Reminds me of a better receiving Brent Celek, that needs to get better as a blocker, but would be a willing worker there.  Celek wasn't a great blocker when he entered the league either.

Oh man, had no idea Davis was that old.  Hard pass then.

McDermott and bowels and Billy Davis were all worse than Castillo at DC and none of them had to deal with the cancer that was Jim Washburn👎

Gannon though ,yes he's been worse than Billy Davis.

He's way too good a coach for you to do him like that 😂

Well, I think it is safe to assume that Schwartz retired because of Howie’s ineptitude at drafting defensive players.

Because Falcons - 6, 49ers - 17, Panthers - 18, Lions - 6.

He's had 5 bad games, and 4 very good games.  Yes, it's frustrating, but I think there's a lot of reason to play the soft shell, let the opponent move down the field on long play drives and then lock it up in the red zone.  And I think with better personnel, this scheme can look better.    I'm not ready to turn the page on Gannon.  I think he's still learning DC, and I'm ok with that.  But, next year, he needs to improve significantly, and hopefully with better players it will happen.

There isn't much of a precedence for flipping sides like that but it's not too crazy.  Harbaugh went from QC to ST to HC in the span of 4 years right?  Castillo deserves a lot of credit for taking that hodgepodge of staff and personnel that didn't fit and trying his best to put out a semblance of consistency.  At no point did he seem out of place or lost as a DC shockingly.  Sucks they scapegoated him only to fire the actual cancer later.  Though at the end of the day the decision was baffling and a bad one.

As much as I hate to say it.  I think the best course is to not trade any/all of our first round for a QB and draft heavy on the defense....Stick with Hurts and maybe get a FA Wr to go along with Smith.  Use Baltimore as the model.  Great running game...physical defense.  Until you can get a big boy QB.

Had we focused on defense like I have wanted to the last few years, maybe we would be a different boat.  But we didn't

Nah... turn it over to Minshew, and stick with the power running game, and try to do it more like the Titans with Tannehill.

What i think they should do and what they do are two separate things. I tend to think they are going to go after a QB cause that’s what lurie is going to want to get. At the end of the day i think he’s shown eagles fans that throughout the course of his tenure as owner and even this entire offseason leading into the season.

That's likely true.  I think the cost will be too much and they need to get better at almost 50 other spots on the roster, not just the QB1 spot.

Who the hell is going to debate with you saying DUI manslaughter is a good thing? Far more social/political factors at play with Rodgers... Obviously...

Jalen Reagor has 57 receiving yards over the last 6 weeks.

Another Howie gem.

Oh they have a ton of issues all over the field. However I think when lurie gets in his mindset on he needs a franchise quarterback that he truly believes in and loves he’s gonna go out and do it. I didn’t think they had enough ammo to get themselves up high enough to get Carson Wentz nor did i think they were just a Qb away. Let’s put things in perspective after they fire chip Kelly all of us on here thought it was going to be a two or three year rebuild to get them back into being a Super Bowl contender. The fact that they made the significant jump in the second year was due to Carson Wentz elevating his play to another level and they had a bunch of luck with FA signings having some career years. but yet somehow howie and lurie manage to do it. So I’m guessing they’re going to do whatever it takes to do that. Is it smart? Probably not but I’d put my money on them doing so if hurts doesn’t make significant progress by the end of the year
